On November 7, 2024, Denmark used a racist, culturally biased "parenting competency" test to remove a 2 hour old baby, Zammi, from her loving indigenous Greenlandic Inuit mother, Keira, because her native language, which uses minute facial expressions to communicate, will not be able to "[prepare] the child for the social expectations and codes that are necessary to navigate in Danish society." This test had been recommended not to be used at the federal level before this happened but certain municipalities, including the one this happened in, chose to continue to use it regardless. Not only is this blatantly racist but also violates multiple declarations and conventions that Denmark has signed that protect the rights of indigenous people.

okay i was looking at the taylor swift nyu graduation photos again (bc DAMN!) but i cannot stop thinking about stephanie brown going to nyu and getting a phd (in lesbianism or something because shes a girlboss she can do anything) anyways just thought i'd share

just took my little brother to tour nyu today and thought id reply to this!! (hes seemingly only applying to purple schools- he inadvertently is spoiler)

not a huge fan of gay steph but we can diverge on that cause frankly I think she should go to medschool or something inspired by dr t or do something fucking cool like that.

idk I just love seeing ladies degreed the fuck up. law degrees, phds, doctorates, I just loveeeeee when dc characters are like "oh yeah and then they have these six degrees" and we're all like cool, yeah, I see that, bc they def have all the time for that. its like how everyone in gossip girl goes to yale and we see them study literally one episode; its oddly motivating like yeah its all bullshit but still.

and I agree w u shed be so cute, not just graduating but in school in general. studying in the bat cave, falling asleep at the dining room table over her notes and someone having to carry her to bed, Damian quizzing her with flashcards because she needs to review and he relishes letting her know when she's wrong.
