A lot of people show him as this cool badass man, or take some of his quotes (Like the one about love just being a chemical reaction that compells animals to breed) to show Rick as sooo relatable XD when you're not supposed to see that quote as correct, Rick is meant to be a broken man who became a monster after trauma and years of self loathing. A lot of people don't get that for some reason.
