Haru's and Sachi's relationship being non romantic means a lot to me. And I'm not saying that in a eww that's icky she's fourteen way, but that in being platonic it opened so many more windows for their dynamic. Not to mention this is a central relationship that the entire story revolves around and that's so rare to find in non plot driven media. It's even made explicitly clear there are no romantic feelings involved at least on Haru's side (Sachi's feelings may be more complex and it's left up to interpretation) but at the end of the day it's still not romantic in nature at all.
They have one of the most compelling relationships because they don't neatly fit into any boxes; they aren't lovers, or siblings, or parent and child, or friends, or savior and victim, or even captor and captive. All you can know is that they love each other and I think that's beautiful.
you can say that again
not to be spicy on main but why don’t we talk more about kekkai sensen. the entire thing was a goddamn masterpiece with an engaging plot, unique world-building, really good humor as far as anime goes, well-rounded characters, minimal unnecessary romance (and instead emphasized family!!), and breath-taking animation but we all kinda just forgot ab that and ended up just memeing on that 40 second dance number huh
I can safely say I am the number one fan of Haru and Matsubase from one room of happiness.... the fan base is basically non-existent 😭😭😭😭
season 5 will save me, it will save me 100%
Season 5 hypee
nah literally, I'm trying to get my best friend to read it currently but I can't tell them anything because EVERYTHING IS LITERALLY A SPOILER!! Because of how the manga started though, the ending is even more unexpected.. I finished reading it in about a day and it was an insane roller coaster of emotions.. Anyone who sees this should genuinely give the manga a try. You won't regret it. Trust me, bro.
One room of happiness is like the ultimate "trust me bro" manga. When someone recommeds it to you they can't say anything because it's a spoiler so you just have to trust them and pull through the first few "what ew" chapters till everything falls into place
me to my best friend of like 7 years
