There’s something very charming about the albums musicians make when they reach old age. There’s so much more quiet contemplation of life, a matured musical expression, a confidence in their musical identity, a knowledge that they need not put on the biggest brightest show, a soft dedication to the muse.
Albums like David Bowie’s Blackstar or The Next Day, Neil Young’s Prairie Wind, Roger Waters’ Is This The Life We Really Want, Pink Floyd’s Endless River, to name a few, exude a condensed energy of their life experiences and musical inclinations that have been sharpened and honed their entire lives. These kind of albums are so very special. I’m glad my favorite musicians continue to make music when they get old, because it has just as much meaning as it did when they were younger.
what year do you think was Rog's hottest/sexiest era?
Definitely either Pompeii or The Wall. Wall era Rog in that leather jacket does things to me.

The first purchase I made for myself when I got my first job at 16 (after gas and expenses lol) was a tube of lipgloss, Aerosmith's Greatest Hits, and DSOTM (both on CD). I'd already heard Money on the radio all the time and my dad scared the shit out of me with Time by not warning me about the clocks lol. But that was my first time listening all the way through. Headphones on, in the dark. Completely blown away. 🥲
It’s kind of funny actually I can’t remember the first time I ever heard Dark Side off The Moon. It was just apart of my life one day and I can’t imagine myself without it’s influence. When was the first time you heard it?

Dry Ice Block - Pink Floyd, 1975 Wish You Were Here Tour.
imagine being in a band with a guy you hate and all the other guys hate this guy also and you spend all your time hating him and you’re finally like ok well how about we kick him out you know. like there are 3 of us and 1 of him. and then he rocks up and is like hey i’ve got this idea for a concept album and here are some songs for it and they’re like some of the best songs you’ve ever heard like some of the all time greats when it comes to songs. and you’re just like oh for fucks sake. so he stays in the band and you make an awesome album but you still hate him. and you repeat this cycle like every 4 years or so
