It’s Asexual Awareness Week
So, as an asexual person myself, I’ve decided to give some reminders for all you lovely ace people.
You are valid
You are real
You are a part of the LGBT community
You can have a fulfilling relationship without sex
If you feel like you aren’t fulfilling your partner because you don’t have sex, you are wrong, your partner would not be with you if they didn’t feel fulfilled
Although, if your partner claims they aren’t fulfilled because you aren’t having sex with them, dump their ass and find someone who respects you
You can be ace no matter your age, gender, race, etc.
IT’S OKAY TO BE ACE AND LIKE SEX
IT’S OKAY TO BE ACE AND LIKE SEX
IT’S OKAY TO BE ACE AND LIKE SEX
You do not have to be aromantic to be ace (I’m a biromantic ace myself)
However, aro-ace people are just as valid
You are not obligated to explain the nuances of your asexuality to anyone unless you’re planning to have sex with them
TW - SEXUAL ASSAULT
Having been assaulted is not always why you’re asexual, but sometimes, having been assaulted is why you’re asexual. Both are valid. (change made here because what I wrote earlier wasn’t phrased well)
TW OVER
You are not “broken”
You are not a “prude”
Demisexuals, Greysexuals, Cupiosexuals, and anyone else on the ace spectrum are also valid
But, most of all
Happy Asexual Awareness Week!
“Why criticism hurts so much"
I’ve been working on a series aiming to explain why we can get so deeply hurt and afraid of disapproval that it will interfere with our life decisions.
Coming soon: 2/4 "Where does it come from?” ¾ "How can I spot it?” 4/4 “What can I do?”
I get a lot of DMs asking me “How do I know if I have ADHD?” and the short and boring answer is “you can’t unless you talk to a doctor”.
But I want to share what I think should have been obvious clues to me!
I think it’s hard to judge your own symptoms if all you’ve known your entire life was ADHD. I was convinced I had no problems and just had to stop being lazy and all my problems would go away.
So, to everyone asking themselves “what if I’m just lazy?”, I hope you can find the courage from this to seek a diagnosis! And if you can’t:
Your struggles are legit and real, if they have a name or not.
being a so-called “gifted” kid is fun bc people think your life must be extraordinary but,,,, as far as me and all the other “gifted” kids i’ve met….. its more like *ends up taking god-awful courses bc the teachers think they want to be challenged* *loses sense of childhood* *gets hated by all their peers bc of jealousy for “special treatment” that doesnt exist and better grades* *experiences extreme burnout by age 12 and stops functioning in a school setting entirely* *gets their dreams shot down because they have “too much potential” to chase after small jobs* *cries over getting a b grade* *doesn’t sleep* *gets abused as a kid by people who want to take advantage of their circumstances* *isn’t believed if they say they have a disability because “they’re too smart!”* *doesn’t sleep* *doesn’t sleep* *doesn-
That’s what careless words do. They make people love you a little less.

When you’re swiping through a dating app and you realise there’s really no point because sooner or later they’re gonna want to bone and when you don’t wanna they’ll think you’ve been leading them on and probably get pissed and it really doesn’t matter how well you’ve been getting on so you just climb back into your no one is ever gonna want you for more than a few months maybe box
when she says she doesn’t send nudes
Adults call me an old soul and most people think it's because I grew up as an obedient child who was too focused on school to make any meaningful relationships but the reality of it is that I always breathed very deeply around cemeteries and the spirits with unfinished business entered my body
Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close….. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But, it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. Every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say, “Tell me something that makes you cry.” or “What do you think deja vu is for?” …..Find the others

I have no idea what we did, but the Travelers fandom has been blessed with the most amazing male characters. David, Trevor, and Philip are such wonderful people, the amount of generosity, care and kindness the have for others melts my heart and brings me to tears. Each and every episode further proves how awesome they are and it is a wonderful thing to see on a TV show.
And the ladies are such badasses and so smart and skillful, they floor me, especially Carly.
Going in, I didn’t think this show was anything special, but boy, was I wrong! I’m so glad I gave it a chance. I honestly hope it will get renewed for S3
