Summary: After being rejected by her childhood crush, Steve Harrington, the reader looks for comfort in Billy Hargrove.
It had been two months since Nancy and Steve broke up. And only a month since he stopped coming over to my house a couple times a week sobbing about her. Nancy… it was a shitty breakup. She led him on, told him she loved him, and then cheated on him. He was busted up, he was arranging his future around staying with her.
I always had feelings for Steve. The two of us grew up together, he was the neighbor across the street from me. He was my first kiss… when we were six years old. He lost his favorite tonka truck and when I found it for him, he planted a big ol’ kiss right on my lips.
We were attached at the hip throughout middle school, always doing our homework together, going to each other’s games and recitals. He and Nancy broke up, and I determined it was time to make my move.

Loki x Mute! Reader You’re Voice is Beautiful
Loki sat in his room, enjoying the peaceful silence in which he could read. He found Midgardian books more interesting and intriguing then he did with Asgardian books, as he had read most of them. He was currently reading a book about the Romans. The other Avengers were either on missions or busying themselves with work. Y/n was unlike most of the others she, like Loki, stayed in her room, she sat by her window, simply watching the busy cityscape. With her phone a distance away from her, a message displayed on there. She was terrified of what was to be coming. Y/n was taken in by Tony Stark when she had run away from home. She was only 13 at the time but she quickly warmed up to Tony, and almost forgot about ‘Him’. She glanced over at the phone, then decided to re-read what was on her screen, ‘It’s time to be a family again’ she shuddered at the thought that he knew how to get to her and she knew he would likely stop at nothing. She locked her phone and left her room to grab a snack and a drink before she decided whether to leave or stay. As she entered the kitchen she found Loki attempting to make some tea or coffee, she wasn’t too sure what he was doing, but he was muttering curses at the contraption. Loki turned and gave a small smile to her. “May I ask for your assistance, Lady Y/n?” He said politely, she nodded, “I’m trying to make tea” his gave averted from her. She gave a small smile and gestured for him to take a seat while she made his tea. She pulled a pen she had in her hair bun, writing on her hand, ‘Do you have sugar, and how many if you do?’ he looked over and simply smiled and said: “Two, please, also before you ask, no milk” she nodded and was soon enough done with his tea. She gave him his cup, her hands a little shaky. “Do I scare you Lady Y/n?” Loki asked, his eyes slightly saddened, she quickly shook her head no. “Then why are you shaking” she shook her head and left the room, locking herself in, as she paced about her room, trying to come to a decision, making a list of pros and cons in her mind. Then she came to her decision. Loki’s hope was partially restored knowing that Y/n didn’t fear him as he had once thought, he decided that he’d go and see how she was, considering he noted a distressing notion in her body language. As he walked down the corridors, he noticed Y/n leaving her room, looking around, before running out. Y/n ran to the kitchen and placed down her letter, she then went to the elevator and left.
Y/n got out from the taxi and looked up at the looming mansion. Even though her father was a rich man, he was also incredibly cruel, mainly to Y/n. Y/n had suffered for a time at the hands of him, she didn’t consider him anything, but he struck fear into her which kept her quiet, she could speak, but she feared about doing so.
Tony and the others had read over her letter, Tony had gone to his lab, locking himself in there. Nat, Bruce, and Steve went to try and talk to tony, while Loki and Thor sat in silence. Y/n sat in her room, chamber, she was unsure what to call it, it most defiantly wasn’t a room, perhaps a cell, prison, would be a better term. She wore a simple white hospital gown. Her father was preparing her ‘treatment’. She shivered in her room, terrified, of what was bound to happen to her. A week had passed, and the Avengers had finally come up with a plan to get Y/n back. They went over the plan many times, before heading into action. They stealthily infiltrated the large mansion, taking out most guards. Loki had his bit of fun, using his illusions to distract those in the chamber. They were distracted and were taken down easily with his blades. “Who might you be?” A man asked, facing him. “I am Loki son of Laufey” he stated firmly. “Loki, it shall be a pleasure to kill you right before her” the man grinned sadistically. Y/n watched through the glass, tears streaming down her face as Loki took a couple of hits. Her fists pounding against the glass, with a few hits she somehow passed through the glass. She thanked whoever allowed her to get out. She looked over and saw Loki laying on the ground her ‘father’ over him ready to plunge one of Loki’s knives into him. She ran and knocked her father over, they tumbled, before he sat on top of her. “You were the cause of everything bad in my life” he whispered and plunged the knife into her stomach, “Now suffer” his gaze boring into her, he noticed a determined looked in her eyes. He then noticed her hand clenching into a fist. He stood and collapsed to the ground. “I have suffered” she spat to his lifeless body, she weakly crawled over to Loki, placing a hand on his chest and taking his wounds healing him but taking them onto herself. Loki sat up and noticed that Y/n had fallen unconscious on him, blood pouring from her.
Loki had remained by Y/n’s side, never leaving her, he wanted to hear her voice again, he was sure she had spoken but it was a bit of a blurry memory. He also felt that he had to repay her for saving his life. Y/n had finally woken up after a week and Loki was relieved. A few days then passed, and she was soon released but was told to rest for a while.
Y/n soon enough returned to her silent state, ghosting around the tower, but mainly remained in her room. For the first week, she had nightmares, which forced her to stay awake, fearful of falling back asleep and soon enough she was looking like a corpse. Loki that night could not sleep either, he got up and decided to wander into the kitchen, he was hoping to make some tea, he found that there was a tea already waiting for him, still steaming. He smiled gently and looked around he saw her hiding in the shadows. “Y/n are you okay?” Loki asked, she stepped out of the shadows and nodded, “Can you talk?” he asked, she nodded a ‘yes’. “Could you say something now?” he asked hopefully, she shook her head no, Loki lowered his sad gaze to the floor. Y/n walked to him and placed a hand on his cheek, gently lifting his head to meet her E/c eyes. Loki looked at her with sadness, he wanted to hear her again. She lowered her head. “I’m sorry,” she said so quietly, Loki almost didn’t hear it, “He shouldn’t have hurt you,” she slowly met his gaze. His eyes were wide with awe, wonder and … love? “Your voice is beautiful,” he teared up and instantly brought her into a gentle passionate kiss.

The last bit was funny
Fandom: Avengers/Marvel Paring: Peter Parker x Stark!Reader Summary: Soooo I know I just wrote a Peter Parker fic…but I read all these imagines about a Stark!reader dating Spiderman and the Avengers find out and make fun of them for dating. BUT I wondered what would happen if things were turned around and if the Avengers didn’t know Peter was Spiderman, and are in shock because they thought the reader was just dating normal ol’ Peter Parker!
“So, when is Mr. Parker picking you up?” Steve asked eyeing you from the top of his coffee mug. “Is that question supposed to end with you cracking your knuckles? Because it sounds like that’s where you’re going,” you said shooting an equally skeptical look to the overprotective hero. “Cut her a break Steve,” Natasha said walking into the room with Sam. “You look cute Y/N.” “Oooh, is lover boy coming over today?” Sam teased. “No,” you said crossing your arms. You loved living with the Avengers, they had become like family. But you didn’t like your love life being Avengers business, they acted each date was some mission they were all studying for. And you dad was, of course, their leader. “'Lover’ is a word I never want to hear in reference to my daughter’s boyfriend.” your dad entered the room, nodding to his teammates. “Sorry Tony,” Sam said smirking. Tony glancing over at you, “honey are you sure you don’t want to bring a sweater …or maybe just a long trenchcoat. I heard it’s going to rain.” You looked down at your sundress and then at the cloudless blue sky outside. “I think I’ll be ok,” you said sarcastically. “What do we really know about this kid anyways?” Steve said, “He needs to be properly vetted.” “He’s not a supervillian or criminal mastermind Steve,” you said. But even as you rolled your eyes you felt a sense of anxiety behind your words. You knew full well Peter had abilities that were way beyond a regular human’s. “He’s just an ordinary teenage boy.” “Exactly my point.” “Actually now that Steve mentions it…I’m pretty good at interroga- I mean vetting people.” Natasha offers. “NO!” As if on cue FRIDAY announced Peter’s arrival and you threw a warning glance at everyone before the door opened. “H-Hey guys,” Peter said waving to everyone. “Mr. Parker,” Tony acknowledged, wearing his terrifying I-already-know-everything-you’re-going-to-do-and-I-don’t-approve face. “M-Mr. Stark,” Peter moved to shake your dad’s hand. It was odd seeing them interact. You knew that despite his current demeanor, your dad actually liked Peter. He knew everything about Peter- he knew he was Spiderman and he knew that at his core, Peter was a great kid. It’s one of the reasons he recruited him, and why Tony continued to keep his identity a secret from the Avengers and SHIELD- he had some respect for Peter. And yet from the moment yours and Peters friendship turned into something more, Tony couldn’t help but act like an overbearing father. “She needs to be home by 10pm. No later, or I’m sending the Iron Legion after you.” It wasn’t a completely empty threat as Tony did have Steve and Bucky spy on you on your first date. You gave a mumbled ‘yes sir’ and dragged Peter out the door. The moment you were out of the tower Peter stopped and pulled your face close to his. He kissed you deeply but gently, making your breath hitch in your throat. “I meant to tell you, you look beautiful today.” he said, giving you a smile that lit up his whole face.
“I’m just saying, there’s something off about that Parker kid.” Sam said glaring at you and Peter as you laughed from the couch. The two of you were forcing Vision and Wanda to watch Star Wars, and were dying listening to their commentary. “Why does that man wear a mask?” Vision asked of Darth Vader, “Is he asthmatic, or is his respiratory system impaired?” Steve looked at Sam out of the corner of his eye, “like there’s something he’s not telling us.” “Exactly! Plus I feel like there’s something familiar about him. In his voice maybe? Or the way he tries to swagger around. Little punk.” “He snuck into the Tower the other night, pretty beat up.” The boys jumped at the sudden appearance of Natasha, “I saw Y/N meet him, panicked. She patched him up and sent him on his way.” Steve and Sam looked at her with renewed interest, “whatever you want to do,” she said, “I’m in.” The three decided to follow Peter home that night. But they only got a few blocks from Avengers Tower before Peter made a sharp turn into a dark alley. “Ok, that’s not suspicious at all.” Sam said into their communication device. “Stay with him.” Steve warned. But when the three Avengers rounded the corner into the alley it was empty. Looking bewildered they peaked around dumpsters and checked doors to see if he slipped through one of them. But the only thing they found was a backpack, stuck between a brick wall and rusted fence. “Is that Peter’s?” Natasha asked. “More importantly what is it stuck with?” Sam said. Steve pulled at the white substance holding the backpack to the wall. “It’s like-like a web.” Steve looked up at his friends, backpack in hand and eyes wide. “NoO WAY!” Sam shouted. “It can’t be” Natasha said breathlessly.
“I”m telling ya’ll, this kid is this Spiderman!” Sam whispered harshly to Nat and Steve. They had all come back to the Tower after following Peter, unable to process what they saw. They couldn’t imagine how nervous, nerdy Peter Parker was the web-slinging, smack-talking hero they had faced in Berlin. This left them waiting to see if Peter came home with you from school, and debating how to reveal such a devastating secret. “More like Spider-boy. Kid probably doesn’t even know how to shave.” Nat said leaning across the kitchen island. “We have to tell Tony, he’s Y/N’s father. He deserves to know if she’s going to be swung around New York.” Sam insisted. “We can’t- we can’t say anything until we know for sure.” Steve said, “all we have is a backpack covered in webs-” Their conversation ended abruptly at the sound of your laughter. You and Peter walked into the kitchen, holding hands and giggling uncontrollably. “O-oh, Sorry!” Peter apologized. “Hey guys! Whatcha doing?” you asked, breaking from Peter to walk over to the the counter and grab an apple. “Planning a top secret mission?” Steve noticed Peter eye them at the sound of the word ‘mission.’ “Just taking bets on how long your dad is going to go before hacking into SHIELD again. He caught wind that they put new firewalls up.” Nat lied effortlessly. You shrugged and turned to go, “Come on Peter.” “Where are you two off to?” Steve asked not really wanting to leave you alone with Peter. He didn’t know what was going on, but he knew he didn’t trust him. “Homework.” Peter said “Y/N is barely making it through Chemistry-ow!” You elbowed him, “you said you wouldn’t tell anyone!” You looked at the group, “please don’t tell my dad. I’m trying, it’s just- my brain isn’t wired like his.” “Plus,” you added out of lighthearted spite, “Peter is failing Literature, so I’m not the only one who needs help.” Peter looked at you, mouth agape in mock offense. You stuck out your tongue at him. The two of you turned to leave and Sam got nervous. He had to do something. Without thinking he shouted “Hey Peter!” and threw the nearest item he could grab. Before he heard Sam call his name Peter sensed the item hurtling towards the two of you. Instinctively and without even looking Peter reached up and caught the item mid air. Everyone’s mouths dropped open in shock. Peter began to try and stutter out an explanation, his brown eyes wide with fear, but he couldn’t think of anything to say. His whole world was just exposed. “WHY DID YOU JUST THROW A KNIFE AT MY BOYFRIEND!?” Peter looked down and realized the item he was holding was a long kitchen knife, “What the hell dude?! Did you just try to kill me?” Peter exclaimed. Steve and Natahsa also stared at Sam, not knowing whether to be more in shock over Peter or the fact that Sam had accidentally (on purpose) thrown a knife at a random teenager. “I-It was the first thing I could grab!” Sam shouted in his defense, “We caught him in an alley last night-well found his backpack and wanted to prove that he was…well something! And I didn’t want you to leave without figuring it out so I just threw something!” his words ran together in a panic. “I was trying to prove he was Spiderman!” You stared at him in utter disbelief, “BUT WHAT IF HE WASN’T?!” you shouted. “Yeah, not my best plan…” “Oh my God! I’m going to kill you!” you lunged at Sam but Peter grabbed you, holding you back. “You better run man.”
This is sooo sweet
Prompt: In which Billy says some things he shouldn’t, leading him to apologize to his girlfriend.
Warnings: Little bit of angst, mentions sex briefly
The air was thick and damp, complementing the dark grey sky that hung menacingly above. Rusting streetlights flickered on, illuminating every crumbling crack of the sidewalk that crunched beneath your shoes. It was obvious a storm was coming, and you prayed it wouldn’t start raining until you reached your house. Wearing only a thin t-shirt and jeans, each gusting breeze of warning made goosebumps erupt on your arms, your hands rubbing up and down on the skin in a useless attempt to warm them up. Usually, you didn’t have to worry about getting a ride home as your boyfriend, Billy, was your personal chauffeur, but after hearing the countless harsh words that escaped his lips earlier, each targeting insecurities that you hesitantly revealed to him, you couldn’t even imagine being in the same vicinity as him.
The wind started to pick up and you still had a good half hour left before you’d even reach your neighborhood. A sigh of frustration escaped your trembling lips, and for a brief moment you wished you were in Billy’s Camaro, safe from the rain, though you pushed the thought down as memories from earlier surfaced. At the start of your relationship with Billy, your friends said you were foolish - everyone knew Billy wanted one thing and one thing only: hookups. But you reassured them that his intentions were genuine and he wouldn’t have settled down if he still wanted to fool around. Though now you wondered if being with Billy was a mistake. Was it built on one big lie or premise or desire - that being sex? It couldn’t be. Every “I love you” felt too real, too promising. Billy had opened up to you, told you about Neil and his mother and every scar that blemished his skin, so how could it all be a lie? You weren’t sure what to think, and the uncertainty made your stomach churn in fear. If it hadn’t been for the coolness of the air and the motivation to get home, you would’ve thrown up right then and there. You walked for a few more minutes until you heard the rumble of an all-too-familiar engine behind you.
Not wanting to reveal you were aware of Billy’s presence, you looked down at the sidewalk, suddenly interested in each pebble and piece of chewed up gum imprinted into the cement. The hum of what sounded like the passenger window rolling down buzzed through the air, making you cringe. “Y/N,” Billy rasped, his tone sounding different than the usual confident one. You ignored the call, pretending that the sudden roll of thunder overpowered his plea. “Y/N, I know you can hear me. Please get in the car.” With the slight shake of your head, Billy knew it was pointless to beg - you were stubborn, and that was just one of the many reasons he adored you. You flinched at the sound of his door opening and closing, followed by heavy footsteps that were right behind you. For a moment, you thought he’d follow you the rest of the way home, each second his feet crunched on the sidewalk feeling like an eternity, until he weaved around you. Billy’s left hand rested on your shoulder while the other hooked beneath your chin so you’d meet his gaze. Then, the rain started. A small droplet plopped onto your arm, others haphazardly falling wherever they could. “I’m so sorry, baby, I really am. I didn’t mean anything I said earlier, you know that.” Billy’s eyes were soft, but you could see beyond that there was a storm brewing, much like the one you stood amidst. His words made your bottom lip quiver, and you attempted to turn away so he couldn’t see you cry.
“Baby…” Billy mumbled, following you. A few tears had slipped out, though you weren’t sure if he would be able to notice through the rain. He did. Billy wrapped his arms around your trembling figure, feeling his heart ache as a sob wracked your body. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, babygirl.” He repeated over and over, feeling overwhelmed in the guilt that swarmed over him. “Let’s go in the car, yeah?” He asked softly, picking you up once you nodded in approval. Billy sat in the driver’s seat with you straddling his lap, still crying into his chest. Though he was freaking out on the inside, unsure of what to say or do to help you, he remained calm, smoothing your hair down as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. A few minutes had passed by and your sobs had finally resided, evolving to small sniffles and tear-stained cheeks, rosy with exertion. Billy felt relieved, having thought that you would never stop crying, as crazy as it sounded.
“I can’t tell you enough how sorry I am. You know how beautiful I think you are, baby. You’re the most beautiful girl in Hawkins - hell in the whole world, for that matter. I chose you, and only you. You’re my girl and I love you.” Though his words were cheesy, he knew it was what you needed to hear to settle your doubtful thoughts and anxiety. You sniffed your final sniffle and sat up, wiping away any remaining tears from your cheeks. Billy smiled softly at the sight, rubbing his hands up and down your back. “I forgive you. I’m sorry for overreacting, I was just scared that you really thought those things.” You pressed a short kiss to his lips, laughing as he leaned in for another. He laughed too, pulling you into his chest as he held you tightly. Billy sighed in bliss, muttering, “Never leave me.” You smiled, looking up at him. “I could never.”
this is way too fucking relatable
Awwwwwwwwwww that’s cute
Legend of Zelda Engagement Ring Box made by Cheryl Bollenbach
YES!!!! I would love more
Welp. I fell really hard into Stranger Things, and it resulted in this little fic. Bear with me as I normally don’t write things like this. This is meant to be a Billy Hargrove X Reader, and I might make it into a mini-series if anyone wants me to continue it, this is more like a small drabble and an attempt at writing for Stranger Things. In this fic, the reader is still in school but is the assistant manager for The Palace, the arcade.
Extra: After finishing this I am so sorry for the atrocity you’re about to read.
Summary: Being the assistant Arcade Manager means you have a lot of responsibilities; repairs, cleaning, and closing for the night. However, on this night, you have a small encounter with Billy Hargrove
Working at the Palace Arcade had its perks, especially working as the assistant manager. For the most part, you could stay behind the scenes working on paperwork and expenses, ordering in new prizes.
The downside was when your co-worker couldn’t make it in for their closing shift. For 2 hours tonight you had been in charge of anything, from malfunctioning machines to trading in prizes and anything in between, all the while trying to clean up so that you could get out of work shortly after the arcade closed for the night.
Ten minutes to 11:00 you began your warnings to the few remaining players lingering around, trying their hardest to beat previous scores and earn their places. For the most part, people heeded your warnings, finishing the games they departed, hearts filled with sorrows at another failed chance of beating their rivals.
5 minutes to 11:00 and the only people left in the arcade were your regulars, Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will along with the newcomer, Max.
“You guys have until the bathrooms are cleaned, to finish your games, and go home for the night!” You called to them, hearing them give cheers knowing full well that it would take another 15 minutes.
As you worked on the bathrooms, you could hear excited shouts from the small group you had left in the main part of the arcade, one of them was going above and beyond and by the sounds of it about to beat another high score.
When you finally finished cleaning and returned to the front of the arcade, you were greeted by fanfare and you smiled at the kids standing proudly in front of you.
“Alright, I’ll bite. Who was it this time?” You asked, referring to the happy faces in front of you.
Max shyly cleared her throat.
Despite seeing how confident the girl was in front of her friends, and in front of others…and witnessing the fights she had with her brother both at school and when she was dropped off at the arcade, the girl seemed to shut herself up into a little bundle of nerves when speaking to you.
“Well, congrats for that Max.” You praised the young girl, “We’ll have to think about finding some sort of championship arcade event for you to compete in.”
The boys instantly started echoing your statement, and as you ushered them out the door, you could hear their voices fade away into the night, all of them on their way home.
As you finished your last-minute chores before you too locked up and went home for the night, you heard scuffling from outside.
The events from the past year and the disappearances of Will and Barb had put many on edge, and despite Will being back and the police announcing that there was no reason to worry any longer, you still carried some stuff in your bag just in case of emergencies.
So here you were, all by you’re lonesome, tiptoeing around to look beside the arcade, perfume in one hand and a broom in the other. Right as you went to turn the corner, you heard more scuffling and shifting.
You leapt around the corner, letting out a loud shout as you waved the broom handle and sprayed perfume.
As you opened your eyes, you saw Max, wide-eyed and standing a few feet away from where your broom handle had been whipped around.
“Max!?” You shouted, dropping the broom.
“Uh…hey Y/N.” Max greeted with a shy, nervous wave. Resting a hand over your racing heart you gave a loud sigh.
“God, you gave me a heart attack! What are you still doing here?” You exclaimed, your racing heart calming.
“Uh…no reason, just hanging around!” Max said. “What were you er…doing with the broom…and…?”
She pointed to the perfume bottle clasped tightly in your hand.
“Do you have to clean the parking lot too?” She jested.
“Very funny Maxine.” You teased, picking up the broom handle, “And no. I thought that instead of a kid ‘just hanging around’ That someone or something else might be lingering around. So the perfume was meant to be for whatever was here…thankfully it didn’t get into your eyes.”
“Eyes?” She questioned.
“Yeah? If you were actually in trouble you could spray it into your attackers’ eyes, and it would blind them for a moment, so then you can-”
“Beat them with a broom.” Max finished.
“Well. In this case yes…but your just a kid, so you shouldn’t have to worry about any of that stuff.” You said softly, “But…it still doesn’t explain what you’re still doing here at…11:20. Arcades closed, you all got extra time too.”
Max stood in front of you, her arms crossed and face turned away from you.
“Waiting.” She finally said, however, she said it so quickly you almost missed it.
“Waiting.” You echoed. “For who?”
“My brother,” Max said quickly again.
Seeing that she clearly didn’t want to talk about it, and also seeing that she was without a sweatshirt, and even with one you were shivering from the cold Hawkins air, you finally decided that any chance of you going home early tonight would have to wait.
“Alright, well you can wait for him inside instead of wandering around out here by your self.”
“What?” She said, face snapping to yours, “I thought the arcade was closed.”
“Well I forgot that I had some paperwork to finish and my boss would lose it if I didn’t, so you mise well wait inside with me.”
The two of you made your way back inside and you grabbed some paperwork you had originally left for your next shift from the back.
Max stood with her hands in her pockets, standing by the door, watching as every car, albeit few, passed by the arcade.
“So. Your brother this late all the time?” You spoke to Max.
“Never.” She said softly.
You picked your head up, looking to the younger girl.
“Well, that’s nice…at least not tonight…but it’s awfully nice of Billy to drive you around.” You said, thinking about her older brother. He was in your grade, but the two of you hadn’t really talked, not having any periods together in school.
Max stayed quiet.
“Well, you know I could give you a ride if you want? I don’t mind if you don’t want to keep waiting.”
“I have to wait,” Max said quietly. “Billy will get in trouble if he doesn’t bring me home.”
“Well…alright.” You replied, going back to the paperwork. “Got any quarters left?”
“Huh?”
“I’m just saying if you got any quarters left, you can play a couple rounds of whatever you like. I can keep an eye on the door.”
It took Max a minute, but a little while after your final statement, she wandered away and you heard the familiar noise of a quarter slipping into a machine, and the game come alive.
You kept an eye on the clock, not willing to be here past midnight, you decided that you would just take her home, either way, a little before midnight.
A little after 11:45 you heard the purr of Billy’s Camaro roar into the parking lot. You looked up, seeing Max had once again immersed herself in a game her back turned to you, and she clearly hadn’t heard her brother pull in.
You set your pen down and walked to the door, opening it and taking a step outside, seeing Billy running his hands through his hair as he stepped out, turning every which way clearly searching for his sister.
“Hey, Hargrove.” You called out, hoping to give him a jump, however, he turned around always playing it cool.
“Y/N Right?” He said. “I’m looking for…”
“Max. I know she’s in here finishing up a game…why don’t you come in?” You said, holding the door open. Billy stood by his car for a second, clearly thinking about what you said, and you half expected him to just walk in and drag his sister out, however, he threw out his cigarette and came up to you, stepping into the arcade.
“Don’t worry Hargrove, I won’t tell anyone that you’re hanging around in the arcade.” You teased as you followed behind him. You heard him give a small chuckle in front of you.
“It’s Y/N. Right?” He said, turning around.
“Wow. So Billy Hargrove does know my name.” You laughed, making your way back to the counter to grab the sheets of paper and tuck them in the manager’s office. However, seeing a scrap piece of paper on the desk you grabbed a pen scrawling something quickly and tucking it into your pocket.
Coming back you saw Billy leaning against the counter, his eyes on Max who somehow still hadn’t realized her brother was here.
“She’s a good kid you know.” You said, leaning next to Billy, “And a great gamer. You should find her some sort of championship or something to compete in.”
“Shes a little shit,” Billy said, but the usual angry and rough tone wasn’t with the statement, it sounded lost and distant, a whisper in the woods.
“Well. If you ever need any help with her or need me to give her a ride, I won’t mind. I know she was worried about it when I asked her about it…said you’d get in trouble, but really. If you need anything…I’m typically here” You gestured.
Just as you finished your minor speech, you heard the familiar chimes of ‘Game Over’ with a combined happy shout.
“Hey Y/N! I did it again, I just beat this record!” Max exclaimed, her happy face turning upside down when she caught sight of her brother.
“Billy.” She gulped.
“Alright, little shit. Get in the car.” Billy said. Max wasted no time, giving you a small thank you and departed the arcade.
“Thanks, for watching over her while I was late,” Billy said turning around to leave, and you had a silly grin on your face, hearing the Hargrove give you a genuine thank you.
“Anytime.” You replied. Your heart raced, but you hesitantly called out to Billy once more, his face turning.
You bounded up to him and slipped the paper into his pocket.
“My number, just in case you ever need someone to get Max.” You said.
Billy tucked the paper further into his pocket, in order for it to not slip away and he gave you a cheesy smile.
“Do I have to just use it for Max?” He asked, his voice dropping lower, growing huskier, and your heart was practically visible as it beat out of your chest.
“No, if you ever need me I’ll be there too.” You whispered. Billy’s smile grew larger, and he took your hand in his own, raising it up to his lips to press a kiss to it.
“Good to know, darling.” He chuckled, and like the wind, he slipped out the door, with a soft goodnight.
You stood frozen, shell shocked, heart, beating way too fast to be considered healthy as you heard and saw the Camaro pull away and drive off into the night.
Backing up, you slipped down sitting with your back against the counter, resting your gifted hand over your heart, willing for it to both calm down, yet never stop beating for the handsome Billy Hargrove.
Ahhhhh,,,, SO GOOD,,, I love it 💚💚💚
Summary: Life had always been hard for Y/N, but when her destiny is uprooted by Hydra, she calls out to be saved. And two Asgardians answer. Pairing: Loki Odinson x Reader Word Count: 7665 Warnings: Angst, violence, mentions of drug abuse and torture/blood, language, fluff, implied smut, more fluff A/N: This was written for @tilltheendwilliwrite and her 7.7k Follower Celebration. Congrats on the milestone! My prompt was the quote, “Be careful with her. She is just newly back, and the ordeal has left terrible scars.” and it is in bold in the fic. I had originally posted another version of this back in mid-June, but I was not happy with how it came out. I took it down a few mins after posting it, and finally finished the rewrite yesterday. I am much more happy with it now, and I hope you all enjoy. It was beta’d by @saxxxology and @idjitmonkey, gif made by me. :)

Nobody ever wakes up knowing that their destiny will change and they’re going to die before their time.
Sometimes it’s quick—a gunshot, car crash, or some other kind of tragic accident. Other times, it’s slow—prolonged illness, accidents which maim and cause slow deterioration, or the worst one of all: the small percentage of people who end up truly knowing what torture is before their life is taken.
Y/N Y/L/N was one of those people.
A life as tragic as hers, one filled with confusion and anger, led her down paths she never would have travelled. A gift she developed late in her life, one which should have been a source of great power and understanding, manifested as a burden. It didn’t take long for her choices to catch up with her.
It began with alcohol, the burning liquid finally quieting the voices in her head enough to allow her to sleep. When her body adjusted and a full bottle of whiskey would no longer send her into the blissful peace of darkness, she turned to harder drugs, and thus began the spiral which ended up landing her in jail for heroin possession after an almost fatal overdose. If not for a compassionate judge who ordered rehabilitation instead of continuing her jail time, she would still be locked away, fighting through the war inside her mind alone.
When she was abducted from Dolan’s Recovery House, a farm doubling as a halfway house on the outskirts of the city, her path jutted off course like a rogue horse separating from the herd, galloping through an unfamiliar dark forest. The only thing she was focusing on was her recovery—both mental and physical—taking the time to learn her gift instead of running from it. Michael Dolan, the owner of the farm and recovery house, knew Y/N was different the moment he saw her, and it didn’t take long for her to confide in him, allowing his guidance to support her through her recovery. It was her contentment that caused complacency, giving the men who came in the middle of the night little to no security to overcome when they took her.

Resting my chin in my hand I tried to focus on whatever bullshit was being taught at the front of the class, when it became clear that I wasn’t going to be able to focus on anything being said I let my forehead fall onto the table in front of me. A slight ringing sound filled my right ear, thinking nothing of it I brought my hand up and pressed it against my ear to try and disperse the sound, as the sound began to increase I lifted my head from the table to look around, as I was scanning the room to check if anyone else was hearing it my eyes caught MJ looking at me with furrowed brows.
“Y/N/N are you ok?” She asked as she reached for my hand giving it a squeeze, I shook my head as the ringing began to get louder I pulled my hand from hers and covered my ears trying to stop the pain that was shooting through me, I hadn’t realised that I’d let out a scream until I lifted my head to see the whole class was now looking directly at me, as the teacher began to move towards me I shot up from my seat, leaving everything behind I bolted from the school.

As I saw the compound come into view I let out a brief sigh of relief, I sprinted past everyone who tried to talk to me and made my way straight to my bedroom, once inside I slammed the door behind me before going into the bathroom and locking myself in. I leant against the wall opposite the door and sank down onto the cold floor, tears flowed freely as I sat hiding my face between my bent knees.
“BUB OPEN THE DOOR!” Dad shouted pounding on the door in front of me, I saw the handle being jiggled repeatedly, I sucked in a breath not ready to face my family and tell them what was happening if I told them that made it real and I wasn’t ready to accept that just yet, the next voice to speak up was Steve.
“Y/N OPEN THE DOOR OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL KICK IT DOWN!” He bellowed in his all too famous Captain America voice, I shook my head curling further into myself praying that if I ignored the problem it would go away.
“THERE IS NO NEED TO SWEAR STEVEN, A GOD IS ALREADY HERE!” Thor responded in his normal voice which was loud enough for me to hear despite the deafening ringing in my ears, I heard more heavy banging coming from the other side of the door.
“MOVE AWAY FROM THE DOOR I’M KICKING IT IN!” I opened my mouth to retort that I was fine but all that came out was another whimper of pain, seconds later the door was being broken from its hinges to reveal Steve filling the doorway worry covering his chiselled features. I saw the rest of the team standing behind him uncertainty on all of their faces, Dad pushed past Steve falling on his knees in front of me.
He put his hands on both sides of my face and wiped my tears away with his thumbs, “What happened Bub?” He looked deep into my blood shot eyes trying to assess what was wrong, I shook my head as more tears fell, he pulled me into his lap and rocked me back and forth as I cried into his chest.
Wanda came to crouch in front of me where I sat still wrapped in my Dads arms on the bathroom floor, she held her hand out silently asking for permission, I moved one of my hands away from my ears and placed it in her upturned one, she closed her other hand on top of mine, as her eyes shone red I saw her expression change from worry to sadness, she gave my hand a quick squeeze before looking at Dad behind me.
“She needs to go to the med bay.” She spoke in her sweet Sokovian accent.
“WHO DARES HURT LADY Y/N, I WILL CRUSH THEM!” Thor boomed from behind Wanda, she turned to face the team.
“Nobody hurt her, but she is hurting so we need to move.” She shooed the team away from the door as Dad helped me to my feet, he held my hand tightly in his as he led me out off the bathroom and towards the med bay, the rest of the team following quickly behind us.

I sat on the bed picking at the skin around my nails while Dr. Cho used an otoscope to check my ears, after she had done multiple scans of my brain and taken a couple vials of blood she sent me for a hearing test. After the test was completed she brought me back into the room and sat me on the bed, I sat with my legs crossed pulling at the loose seem on the hospital gown I was wearing, the door slowly opened and she returned with Dad in tow, he came to the side of my bed and sat down pulling my shaking hand into his larger hand, he ran his thumb over my knuckles trying to soothe the anxiousness I was feeling.
“I’m sorry to tell you this Y/N but you have a total loss of hearing in your right ear.” Despite the agonising ringing in my ear I heard every word she said clear as day, “We’re not sure what caused it, all your scans and bloods came back clear, do you have any questions?” I shook my head still in shock over what she had just told me, “I’m sorry Y/N/N.” She gave my arm a gentle squeeze as she left the room.
As the door closed a tear slipped from my eye, I quickly wiped it away as Dad looked over at me, he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close to him, as I gripped his shirt more tears silently fell from my face and onto his chest, I cried myself to sleep as Dad reassured me everything would be ok.
••
I lay on my bed staring up at the ceiling, the crackling and ringing in my ear slowly driving me insane, I took a deep breath trying to hold my shit together.
“FUCKK!” I threw myself off the bed and stormed over to my desk, I swiped my arms across it throwing everything upon it onto my bedroom floor, I stalked over to my full length mirror, as I looked into I hardly recognised the person staring back, in just two weeks I had lost a considerable amount of weight, my skin had paled and my once luscious hair was dry and dead, more tears filled my eyes the longer I looked at myself, I screamed as I repeatedly threw my fists into the mirror instantly shattering it, blood poured from my knuckles as the broken pieces of glass penetrated my skin.
As I continued my rampage a pair of arms wrapped around me pulling me away from the destruction and into the hall, I thrashed in the arms that held me close to the muscled chest attached to them, “Shhhh, it’s ok Doll, just breathe.” At the sound of Buck’s voice in my ear my body gave in, I slumped against his solid chest, he turned me around in his arms and picked me up bridal style before making his way to the common room.
••
Once my breathing was back to normal and I had finally stopped crying I pulled my head away from where It rested in the crook of Bucky’s neck to look at him, “How did you get into my room, the door was locked and I hacked F.R.I.D.A.Y to not let anyone in?” I questioned him with curious eyes, I felt his chest rumble below me as he laughed.
“I kicked it in.” He responded with a smirk as he squeezed me closer to his side.
“What is with you Super Soldiers and kicking in my doors?” I quipped back with a small smile dancing on my lips.
“Well we wouldn’t need to keep kicking them in if you didn’t keep locking us out.” He poked my cheek and laughed, I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him, “I mean fair enough lock those other losers out, but I draw the line at locking me out Doll, I’m too cool for that shit.” I buried my head back into the side of his neck to muffle the laugh I let out, I could feel him staring at me.
“Stop staring at me you creeper.” I pushed the side of his face with my bloodied hand to make him look away.
Before he had the chance to reply the elevator doors opened and the rest of the team entered, “We’re home Tin Man.” Dad called out not yet seeing me curled into the side of Bucky, as they walked further into the room Dad froze, “Do my eyes deceive me or is that my daughter?” He questioned rubbing his eyes.
“Shut up Old Man.” I rolled my eyes and sat up straight to see the rest of the team staring at me with huge smiles on their face, “Oh my God, I’m going back to my room if you don’t stop looking at me like that.” I pushed myself up from Bucky’s lap and began to walk to the elevator, as I passed Dad he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into a hug, I was soon squashed in the centre of a bone crushing group hug.
“Guys I can’t breathe!” I tapped Dads back and he kissed my cheek before stepping back, the rest of the team following suit, a pair of soft hands gently pull mine up, I turned to see Nat turning my hands over in her own examining my bloodied knuckles, she looked back to me and with raised eyebrows.
“I may or may not have punched the mirror.” I admitted trying to avoid all the eyes on me, “I also may or may not have trashed my room.” I pulled my hands from her grasp and turned to leave only to come into contact with a solid wall of muscle, “Seriously Steve? Can you move out of the way please?” I looked up to him with my best puppy dog eyes and stuck out my bottom lip trying to make him cave.
“Nope.” He popped the ‘P’ and turned me back around to face the rest of the team, I turned my head to look back at Steve.
“Traitor.” I whispered to him making him smirk before I turned back around.
“So do you want to tell us what happened while we were gone?” Nat asked her arms crossed in front of her.
“Hmmm… Not really.” I shrugged.
“This is serious Y/N.” Dad scowled at me, I threw my head back and let out a sigh.
“She had a little meltdown, nothing I couldn’t handle, we’re fine now, right Doll?” I looked back at Bucky who was standing next to Steve.
“Right, so if you don’t mind I’m going back to my room.” As I went to move around Dad he grabbed my arm again, I threw my head back and let out an annoyed groan.
“Stay in one of the spare rooms tonight, just until you’re room gets sorted out.” I nodded giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before heading for the elevator, “And don’t hack F.R.I.D.A.Y to lock us out again!” He called as the doors opened and I stepped in.
“No promises.” I smirked as the doors closed, once I was alone I leant my head against the wall of the elevator trying to regain my composure.
••
I found myself yet again staring at the ceiling the only difference this time was that it wasn’t my own room, as I crept further into my pit of despair there was a knock at the door, I pushed myself up on my elbows as the door opened slowly.
“Hey Kiddo.”
“Hey Clint.” I replied pulling myself up against the headboard into a sitting position.
“How are you feeling?” He asked as he sat next to me on the bed and nudged my shoulder with his.
“I’m fine, I asked Helen to clean up my knuckles, she put them in the cradle, they’re good as new.” I held my hands up for him to see as I clenched and unclenched them.
“That’s not what I meant Y/N/N.” He turned his head to the side to look at me.
“I know.” I fiddled with my hands in my lap until Clint put his hands over mine making me look up at him.
“So how are you really?”
“I mean if I’m being honest I’m probably not handling it that well.” I admitted, “It’s just not what I was expecting, I mean the ringing is all the time, like what the fuck is that shit? I thought going deaf meant quiet not loud ass ringing all the fucking time.” I threw my hands up in a huff, Clint let out a chuckle and gave my leg a pat.
“Listen to me Y/N, things are always going to be shit before they get better, but you’ve got to get through the bad times to get to the good.” He held my small hand in his larger rougher one, “But so many new experiences will come from this and you’ll be a better person for it in the end, believe me I know. However you need to start taking care of yourself Y/N/N, you can’t hide out in your room forever and you need to start eating properly, we miss you Kid.”
“I miss you guys too.” I leant my head against his shoulder as he pulled me into his side.
“You know a certain superhuman spider has been over every day for the past two weeks asking about you.” He smirked down at me.
“Oh my God Clint, shut up!” I pushed his arm away from me while he laughed at my embarrassment.
“Hey, I just call it how I see it.” He held his hands up in defence, “But as your favourite Uncle I demand to know when you two are finally going to admit you’re in love with each other.”
“Who said you were my favourite Uncle?” He let out a loud gasp and held his hand to his heart, I sprung off the bed and ran out of the room, Clint was quick to follow, taking the stairs two at a time I burst into the common room startling the members of the team who occupied it, throwing myself onto the sofa I pulled Steve’s arm over me to protect myself from Clint.
“What did you do this time?” Steve asked as I pulled his arm around me tighter.
“Why do you automatically assume that I’m the one that’s to blame?” I scoffed at him as Clint came bounding through the doors and pointed his finger at me as he walked towards where I sat on the sofa between Nat and Steve.
“Nat you’re not going to believe what just happened!” He ranted as he flung his arms all over the place to emphasise how big a deal it was, “This little hooligan right here, my ONLY Niece just said that I wasn’t her favourite Uncle, I mean can you believe that shit, I mean me not her favourite Uncle?!” He exclaimed as Nat tried her best not to laugh at him, he turned to look at me and once again pointed, “And to think I was going to teach you ASL so we could talk about these suckers right in front of their faces.”
“I never said you weren’t my favourite Uncle.” He scoffed at me as he crossed his arms in front of him, “I love you all equally, but if you want to teach me ASL I am so down for that shit!”
“Language.” Steve spoke up as he carried on watching the TV in front of him.
“But only if you teach me how to swear so that Captain I Never Swear over hear isn’t saying language at me every five minutes.” I felt Steve squeeze me into his side as he smirked still focused on the TV.
“Deal.” Clint shook my hand before pulling me up to start teaching me ASL.
••
It had been a little over two months since losing the hearing in my right ear, since then Dad had made a hearing aid similar to the ones that Clint wore, I had put back on all of the weight I lost and was finally starting to feel like myself again.
As we sat around the table waiting for dinner to arrive Clint and I signed back and forth.
‘So, have you told Peter how you feel yet?’
‘No, Clint because there’s nothing to tell.’ I replied with a roll of my eyes.
‘Bullshit.’ He smirked from across the table.
‘You should tell him how you feel Y/N.’ Nat joined in from next to Clint.
‘I always forget that you can tell what we’re talking about!’ I let my hands fall to the table with a huff as Nat and Clint laughed.
“What’s so funny?” Bucky asked from next to me.
“Nothing.” I replied with a smile.
‘You want to do something to pass the time?’ Clint asked with a mischievous look in his eyes, I instantly sat up straight.
‘Hell yes!’ I grinned at him.
‘You know I’m always up for a bit of fun.’ Nat smirked from across the table.
‘Ok, so nobody else knows what we’re saying, so lets see how long it takes before they have enough and tell us to stop.’ Nat and I both nod at the plan.
‘I’ll go first.’ Clint and Nat both nodded, I turned to look at Bucky who was talking to Steve who sat across the table, when he felt me looking at him he turned to face me with one brow raised, I pulled my eyebrows together and made a face of confusion at him before turning back to face Nat and Clint and signing to them. ‘Do you think If I stare at him and then sign to you he’ll think we’re talking about him?’ They both looked at a confused Bucky before nodding their heads in unison.
“What are you saying?” He questioned from next to me both his brows pulled tightly together.
“Nothing.” I giggled at him as Nat and Clint laughed from across the table.
Nat scanned her eyes over Steve who sat next to her, she made a noise which pulled his attention, he sat up straighter in his seat while she observed him before turning back towards Clint and I as I took a sip of water she signed. ‘Steve wears tops so tight that sometimes I think his nipples are going to cut through them.’
I spat the water that was in my mouth all over myself as we all burst out laughing gaining the attention of everyone at the table.
“Alright new rule, no signing at the table.” Steve demanded as he looked at Clint, Nat and I who were still recovering.
‘Well that didn’t take long.’
“What did I just say Y/N?” Steve gave me a pointed look as I held my hands up in surrender.
“Food’s here!” Peter called as he and Dad stepped out of the elevator with about ten boxes of pizza in hand, as they set them in the middle of the table and everyone spread them out Peter took his seat next to me, “Why are you covered in water?” He questioned with a raised brow.
“I’ll tell you later.” I laughed as Steve and Bucky both gave me shit eye.
••
After everyone had finished stuffing themselves on way too much pizza we all shuffled into the common room to spread out and relax.
“I’m getting another drink does anybody want anything while I’m up?” A chorus of ‘no thank you’ and ‘nope’ came from the mass of superhero’s lounging on the sofas and floor all of them focusing on the TV in front of them.
After getting a bottle of water I made my way to the balcony to cool off, as I leant against the railing letting the breeze flow through my hair I heard the door slide open and footsteps approach from behind me, I turned to face Peter as he stared out into the night.
“I saw you come out here, wanted to check that you were ok.” He said not looking over at me.
“I’m good, there’s just a lot going on, being outside calms me.” I felt him looking at me so I turned to face him, he smiled that perfect smile of his that I’ve been in love with for years.
“Anything I can help with?” He questions moving closer to me, I took a deep breath before signing to him.
‘I love you.’ It felt like a huge weight had been lifted even though Peter had no idea that I’d just confessed my love for him, his face grew into an even bigger smile before he pulled me in to his arms and kissed me softly. Holy shit balls, Peter was kissing me, he was actually kissing me! When he pulled back he moved his hands in front of him and began to sign.
‘I love you too.’
