what happens is that Charles’ pup arrives early and he has to give birth alone while his husband is at war, he’s inconsolable at first but everything is fine after Erik rushes from the battle and arrives right after the birth to be with his mate and meet their pup <3

With the two intercepted by Colonist forces before the pregnancy can be terminated, Mulder comes to his own decision to bring the infants to term, receiving visions of a timeline where they hold they key to humanity’s resistance. In this uneasy limbo, beset by dangers within and without, Scully grapples with her dashed dreams and her relationship to motherhood, while Mulder is incited to consider his own place within manhood, womanhood, and everything beyond and in-between.
