Children do not need to grow into being people, they’re already people and of course they have things to learn but they deserve to be treated with autonomy and respect. Especially queer and disabled children, we deserve better.

The Trevor Project’s support of LGBTQ young people has always meant so much to me. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Trevor’s mission in two ways:

Tune into my free virtual concert, September 17! I’ll be playing music from “Steven Universe,” “Adventure Time,” and more, and I’ll be joined by some very special musical guests!!! — tune in on Instagram and TikTok on Sunday, September 17 @ 5-7 PM PST/ 8-10 PM EST. I’m hoping to raise $20,000 for The Trevor Project, so make sure to spread the word! (I also have a big announcement to make at the end of the show, so please don’t miss it!)

I signed the lease on my first gallery. The 1905 cottage will double as a new home for my mom and I. While ultimately we've found a way of turning a housing crisis into a positive next step, the move has been extremely difficult for my mom. She has mild to moderate dementia but the disruption has flared her symptoms, significantly. The situation around the move was also quite traumatic.

Almost all of my energy has been devoted to managing her needs. My gallery opening is getting pushed and pushed. I want to make sure I have enough to pay the plumber to install laundry hookups, the electrician to install the other laundry hookups and stove, and make rent even if I can't make brick and mortar sales in September, which is looking painfully likely.

I so appreciate the support of tumblr's community.
