One of my favorite things about Somewhere Beyond the Sea was how was Sal has grown and become more comfortable since the beginning of the first book. I mean, this kid who rarely spoke up about anything, and NEVER around Linus, is now the one the kids almost always trust to speak up for them.

And more importantly, he calls out the adults for dumb things they're saying or doing SEVERAL times throughout this book. It says so much about Arthur, Linus, and Zoe and the way they raise these kids that he's comfortable doing that. It makes my heart so happy to see him have a place where he's that comfortable in his own skin, and I love the adults in his life for giving him enough respect and room to flourish for that to happen. It shows in all of the kids, but I think Sal especially.

Okay, headcannon that is insane (kinda) but is taking up space in my brain so I have to share it. Okay, okay, here we go:

Do you ever think about how the Senate could have been put in a choke hold by the clones libido?

Just- just hear me out okay.

So what if all the women that clones got pregnant, (because they are out there damn it!) whether it be from relationships or flings, demanded child support.

At first they try getting child support from the clones themselves, and when they are like "well I don't actually get paid so I can't help you there" they just start sending their bills to the Republic.

Because why not?

The clones are property of the Republic (and Kamino) so a disgruntled group of Mamma decide fuck it and start sending all their children's bills to the Republic to get paid.

The group who does so gets more and more Mamma's on board to do this and the Senate eventually buckles under this movement and pay up, and decide to just pay clones to avoid this happening again.
