What I really love is when people try to explain away Vriska crippling Tavros.

Especially when they try to push the “she was blackflirting!” angle.

1. She was with Eridan before the incidents. Are you saying that on top of being an abuser, genocidal egomaniac, and sub-human, she’s also the kind to cheat?

2. The reason she was with Eridan was the same reason she was “flushed” for Tavros. Because she wanted to imitate her rapist idol. Eridan was her Dualscar. Tavros was supposed to be her Summoner. But he wasn’t the way she wanted, so he became less a subject of infatuation and more an object to hammer until it was right. Her relationship with Eridan fell apart because there were no real feelings - she made herself black for him so he would be her Dualscar.

3. She wasn’t trying to paralyze him. She was trying to kill him. But, yeah, that’s great for getting black partners?

4. Even if she was trying to paralyze him, that’s still an attempt to kill him? Alternia kills “invalids”? Throwing him off that cliff was literally signing his death warrant? 

5. Tavros and her had already had an antagonistic relationship before this. That he didn’t go along with her whims was rejection enough. He wasn’t interested. If she was pursuing him, she’s a predator. I mean, later she sexually assaults him anyways, but, y’know.  

6. We have black relationships outlined for us in canon. They do not involve abuse, physical or otherwise. They do not involve thinking your partner has no worth.

7. Again, just to make it clear, she felt black but tried to push red because Rapist Idol Wet Dream.

8. She felt black because she’s a pathetic whelp that isn’t half as good as Tavros is. She knew she could never (and still can’t) live up to the kind of person he was. She admired him for what a true to himself, happy person he was and was annoyed that she could never achieve any such way of being. She will never be on his level.

9. Once more, black relationships aren’t about killing and abusing your partner. There is a respect there. She has none for him, only the image of him she had in her head. 

She tried to kill him. She was not flirting. She was being her abusive, nothing of a self.

made the impostor a capricorn (he's wearing dan's sign cus, y'know, he's still being who he is) purely cus the bois are seadwellers and I like to imagine that even if not fully aquatic they kinda have one foot in the water so to speak, like if the seadwellers are actual fish the capricorn are dolphins and whales and stuff that *can* be in the water but not indefinitely. making it easier to do his whole, identity theft thing no matter where on alternia
