Demolition Lovers

I'm back yet again with more art I've made as a birthday present for my partner! (They bring out the best in me, although in this situation "best" could be debated)...

This came about after a very passionate and drunk Demolition Lovers by MCR sing along (listen to it you'll understand)... And seeing as the Demolition Lovers are depicted on the iconic Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge album cover well this was only logical

An intricate digital stained glass piece for Over the Garden Wall. The top of the beast's head and his glowing eyes are seen at the bottom of the page with his antlers twisting vertically and symetrically to create 11 sections- 4 on each side and 3 in the center. Starting from the bottom right and going clockwise, the first is a plate of mashed potatoes on a wooden table with a jug of molasses behind it and slightly to the left. The background is vertical strips of pale ornages to yellow greens. Above that depicts the Woodsman. He is facing the viewer with his axe in front of him and lantern raised, but it only shows the right side of him. Behind him is a twisting patterns of browns, similar to tree bark. Above him, it depicts Lorna in her monsterous form, grinning and arms reaching out, with the bell above her head. The background is a mix of dark blues and purples. Above and shifting to the right has the Highway Man. His arms are outstretched and mouth open, appearing to be in the middle of his song. The background is a mix of yellows and pale browns. In the top center section, it has the cursed dog with its mouth open. Its brightly colored eyes contrast against its dark fur and dark blue green background. The middle center slot has a top down shot of Beatrice flying directly into the open mouth of Adelaide's scissors. The background is a mix of pinks. The top right corner shows Quincy Endicott and Margueritte Grey kissing while in their garden. Below that is Enoch's giant pumpkin suit, with the cat's head peaking out of the top. The background is a mix of soft pastels. Below that is Jason Funderburker (the frog) as he is dressed up in the red hat and Wirt's cloak, singing. The bassoon and drum is in front of him and behind him is the red and wood paneling of the ship. Below that is a small section showing one of the cupid like angels from cloud city. Behind it there are pale pink clouds on a blue background. Finally, the bottom center section is the largest and shows Wirt and Greg walking down a path in the woods. Greg is smiling and looking down at his frog while Wirt looks at him with a blank expression. The surrounding shrubs are dark pale greens and the leaves up top are a mix of yellows to reds.

Here's to 10 years of being in the Unknown!

I tried to incorporate something from every episode, and while it was tedious, I am so proud of this piece!

Sci-fi shows nowadays are dramatic and realistic. Give me the artistic lighting, give me awkward fight scenes, let aliens wear drag queen level eyeshadows, convince me that the same decoration in every episode is a different planet, make a whole Alice in Wonderland subplot just because you found a big bunny costume in the garage, let the space pirates wear pirate costumes, dress the dog in the secondhand unicorn costume and say it’s an alien species, give me the most angsty episode I’ve seen right after the episode about some moving mama rock, give me the bROMANCE, give me HONOR, LOYALTY, DIGNITY, and some cool unrealistic but beautiful spaceships, give me flip phones as the coolest device ever, give me dramatic zoom-ins, give me thoughtful stares in the distance with dramatic music. Then we’ll talk.
