Parrotx2 fanart! I just recently started watching unstable universe and I watched his video on all of lifesteal smp and I really enjoy his stuff so :)
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤlittle theorizing timeee~~~
beware, spoilers for i spent 100 days hidden in a secret minecraft base.
(ps ps. i didn't do a post for the other eps, but fuck yeah, FUCK YEah, i called it. the director is sooooo meta. fist up in the air moment.)
the moment the director involves themselves in the story they wrote, egg stops being meta (mentioning his irl life, literally said he watched spoke's videos when wemmbu asked him if he knew spoke) and starts taking uu seriously (literally told someone to chill because minecraft empires were Not That Serious, famous words thirty minutes before taking a minecraft empire Very Seriously), and spoke is acting out of character + there's clearly missing story between s1finale and s2e1. do you reckon the director is finally stepping up, busy with hunting down parrot and orchestrating tax duo's gradual descend, so they don't have enough time to fill in spoke's blank spots? couldn't bother to write anything abt minute and mape? because, a director only has two hands. godly being or not, i assume the director has a human-like form. maybe someone like cc parrot. :)
since we're going down this rabbit hole, do the mcs have protagonist halos? is it a halo granted to them by the director? then, can they lose it? when they lose it, will they stop uploading, because they are no longer center piece? also, i believe s2 is gonna heavily revolve around taking away the mcs' support network. isolating them from their best friends (wifies, eggchan and mape. i had a feeling when they killed off wifies, but egg suddenly doing a 180° just furthered my suspicions. and today we Clearly saw, mapicc and minute were not even Mentioned or referenced).
on that line of thought. the video was so out of character and Not unstable universe like at all, that when spoke actually brought up s1 after being weirdly vague about squiddo and ash as if he hadn't known them more closely than he was acting like, that it actually broke my immersion a little bit? so not immersive i got immersed in the not-immersiveness. 😭
side note, i don't have the ss but squidswag kiss in uu i know that's right... i knowww ash did that on purpose, and the way squiddo went quiet. 😭🫵🏻 why are We third wheeling. why is Spoke third wheeling rn.
also we saw a new side to ash today. :) he's a retired guy who just wants to live in his bunker with squiddo. i can respect that, to the point i felt... kinda bad for ash! crazy isn't it? since when do i, the viewer, feel bad for ash and (mildly) upset at spoke? after the stunts ash pulled? whatever spoke did may lowkey be his karma ngl. :crying:
by the way... ash is changed now that he is no longer the director's pawn. does this mean uu characters were already existing, not entirely the director's creation; just being influenced by the director? but when the director is no longer puppeteering their strings, they are now perhaps free to be the person they always were. maybe ash liked squiddo because squiddo was not a big character in the director's plot, so they saw through the role that was put upon him by the director.
not to cleanse ash of his sins, i think it'd be interesting if the director actually chose the puppets for their play based on pre-existing ambitions and traits. would make ash still a greedy manipulator, but maybe he wouldn't make a whole ass mafia?
hey. doesn't this whole yap remind you about someone else? egg, perhaps? what if the director got egg. influencing him, taking away the bits from egg that inconvenienced his plans. the fact that egg was so meta was inconvenient, wasn't it? egg may just be the closest to busting your whole play. without egg, wemmbu always seems to crack less jokes. to take the situation more seriously. without egg around, wemmbu is less likely to break the fourth wall; to even realize it's there in the first place.
wowieee i went a bit crazy yapping my head off, but hey. we'll see how far fetched this was. :P
you 🫵🏻 will not convince me that spoke s2e1 isn't intentionally edited that way. it feels meta in a weird way. if i can care enough i'll rewatch it and hopefully come out with a theory about why it's this way.
my reblogs are so nice to me im gonna cry i love you guys :')

laurie please talk me us about pvpciv parrotx2 thats literally my wife my wife needs to be talked about more laurie please talk to me talk to me pleaseeeeee
inhales. exhales. you asked for it
OKAY YEAH LETS TALK ABOUT PARROT. Parrot's kinda been on my radar since he first appeared in PvPCiv but I lowkey didn't fully put together how completely insane his character actually is until around the time the Wemmbu traitor theory came out and I made my irl theory board (yes, I have string and a corkboard. Long story). I was working on Parrot's section and started thinking about him and then i was like oh. oh. so let's talk about him!!
MAJOR WARNING FOR PVPCIV SPOILERS BEYOND THIS SENTENCE.
so i think the first thing I properly realized was how completely martyr-coded Parrot is. At the point things are at he genuinely feels like he's a walking flag for the future dead and curse that stupid fucking bird for putting himself in these situations but AUGHH. staying on topic. The thing that gets me about Parrot as a character, is that if you think about it, Parrot is the survivor of not one, not two, but THREE genocides that we know of as of last episode. First one being whatever the sword civilization did in the past to everyone else (which, granted, Parrot may or may not have been alive for but certainly seems to have been raised in the aftermath with the weight of it), the second one being the ongoing slaughter of the current swords, and the third one being of his own culture/civilization. and if that!! wasn't enough!! well
On TOP of that inherently fucked up fact, Parrot's also in a position that pretty much guarantees he won't ever be fully accepted by either of the civilizations he has ties to. He's been cast out by the bows for defending the swords, but the swords are never going to fully accept him because he's not a natural born sword and therefore is perceived as part of the group that's currently canonically slaughtering their newborns for a longer life. What the fuck. And to put even more weight on that fact, as of the episode that dropped Sunday we know now that Parrot's defending of the swords wasn't just a morally righteous move on it's own: he's defending essentially the children of the civilization that committed a genocide against his people in the past. It's an infinitely complicated and heartbreaking situation that really makes me want to-- anwyays. anyways.
and it only gets worse from here!! Because hey, why don't we talk about the part where we now know Parrot and Seawatt know each other but it seems that Toph and Parrot don't know each other or at least don't seem to know who each other are. That scene is so infinitely fucked up: it's two bows, both of whom are at heart trying to be pacifists or search for another solution, but they're fighting each other because in the world they live in, they don't even realize they have a choice anymore. On top of that Toph not knowing Parrot confirms Toph to be a young bow (and an argument could be made that he's a foil to Evbo but that's a whole side of shit i should NOT be getting started on) and that also makes the whole. everything more upsetting.
you think i'm done? no. i still have more to say about fucking parrot. why don't we talk about the hostage situation with zam? at first, i thought that the other diamond swords didn't know that Parrot wasn't a sword when they chose to save Parrot and let Zam go free. But then, I remembered Parrot's video journal and realized that they've gotta know. Thing is, Evbo doesn't think they do -- and thinks at least Ferre would kill Parrot if he knew. that leads to a whole rabbit hole about the reasoning for keeping Parrot alive and letting Zam go free, most of which ties back into the Wemmbu Traitor Theory and the idea of analytical care that canon child Evbo isn't going to notice, but to stay on track I want to bring up the fact that in the most recent episode, we hit on something so deeply fucked up about Parrot's sense of worth and self.
we literally see parrot considering going down to the diamond level, because he thinks he's a liability. Parrot's considering sacrificing himself to the diamond swords because by staying up above, he's just a sitting duck to be used by someone with ill intent again. it's a deeply dark scene, with some lowkey suicidal implications and the concept that parrot doesn't think he's worth anything anymore if he can't protect the few remaining swords by staying on the iron level. and then toph shows up and we see that fight begin but STILL. and parrot also says "they might send me outside to be forced on-" forced on WHAT?? we don't know! which could dip into the ongoing question i have about what the hell is outside of PVPciv over those sandy hills but again i should not be set loose to rant about that. he drives me insane!! i feel insane!!!
so in conclusion parrot is a tragic tragic character that feels to me like he's in the perfect setup to die before the series ends (or toph. or both of them lowkey) and i'm completely, entirely casual about it
pov: they’re trapped in etho desktop background limbo forever
