While some of you watch the live footage of the bombings of Haifa, so-called Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Al Jaleel by Iranian forces I'm sure some of you are puzzled as to the Palestinians in those areas are heard cheering and whistling and celebrating the rockets coming down in their areas.
I just want you to imagine how horrible your life must've been under an occupation for you to celebrate the damage happening to it even if there's a risk to your life, because any damage done to that occupation is one step closer to your freedom.
Please imagine trying to live a daily life of kidnappings and torture from a young age by people who kill your loved ones and, then tell me you wouldn't celebrate rockets falling onto their strongholds after they spent 2 years carpet bombing a besieged city full of your people.

My name is Sahar. Like any young woman, I dreamed of a stable and happy life. I was engaged to Mohammad, and together, we dreamed of building a warm little home where we could start our life. We spent years preparing our house, but just before our wedding, everything was destroyed in an instant by the war.
I was faced with a choice: to leave Mohammad in the midst of this chaos or to stand by him and begin our journey together, no matter how difficult it might be. I chose him. We got married, not in the dream wedding I had envisioned, but under the harsh reality of war. Our new home became a fragile tent, offering neither comfort nor security.
Today, I am seven months pregnant and living in constant fear for my unborn daughter. I am terrified of the world she will be born into—a world of poverty, hunger, and freezing cold. We’ve been displaced over nine times, carrying nothing but the weight of loss and the hope for survival. The house we dreamed of is now rubble, and the tent we live in barely shields us from the rain and cold.
How will I protect my daughter? We struggle to find enough food. Basic necessities like milk, blankets, and clothing feel impossibly out of reach. The cost of survival has become unbearable. Every night, I am haunted by the thought: how can I bring her into this world, knowing I cannot keep her safe?
I write to you with a heavy heart, pleading for help. I don’t ask for much, just the chance to give my daughter a safe beginning, a life with warmth and dignity. We are a family living under the harsh reality of war. My children—Qusai, who is 7 years old; Eileen, who is 5; and Hisham, who is nearly 2—and my husband all share a small tent ⛺️ with me, a space no larger than a single room. In this modest shelter, everything—our kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area—has to fit, holding our entire lives in just a few square meters.
Sometimes, I wonder if our story has become just another story, another part of the background. But for us, it’s real. My children 🧒 lack clean clothes, enough food, 🥘 and fresh water, 💧 basic needs they deserve like every child. And now, with the biting cold 🥶 of winter ❄️ fast approaching, I find myself fearing for my two-year-old, who has no way to stay warm, no way to shield himself from the coming chill.

this is not merely a dream they have; it is an attainable goal.

If you are seeing this, please consider helping my friend Mahmoud's (who is also a cat lover and the boops remind me of him!) 17 family members in Gaza. They have 10 children with them and things are getting really bad. They are struggling to buy food because food can get up to 7900% more expensive than usual! Due to a lack of money, the children are suffering from constant diarrhea and stomachaches due to malnutrition and the contaminated food and water they have to consume!
There are also 3 babies among Mahmoud's 17 family members. The youngest of them, baby Meryem, was only born a few months ago . Mahmoud's sister gave birth to the baby with the sound of bombing around her, with no medical personnel or medical resources available. Hence, she almost died giving birth to the baby! While she luckily survived, she is still suffering from many infections due to the difficult birth. But they don't have money to buy medicine!
They also have no shelter now because their tent was completely destroyed in a bombing! Nothing to shield them from the winter cold and the rain!
