To be considered a ficlet, your story should be at least 200 words minimum and a maximum of 1499 words.

To be considered a fic, your story should be at least 1500 words minimum, and there is no maximum!

Art is art, and we love it! We will not be reblogging art, only a link, so please just make sure we know to mark the link NSFW if it is.

New chapters from a WIP or series are welcome, but please post your story or chapter in its entirety! Posting a chapter or story that is incomplete just makes readers sad. Choose the closest proper category (fic or ficlet) when you submit your completed work for the masterlist.

You can post your fic(let) or art ANYWHERE. If you post on AO3, please feel free to add it to the collection for this week's prompt (FMF_549).

Use the submission form to tell us about your fic by Saturday, August 12, 2023, by 10 am Eastern time in order to have it included on the masterlist.

Writing challenge for me...

I want people to give me a writing challenge, like mini prompts to use and rules and guidelines I have to follow. I have never done it and it seems fun, so I want to try. And give me a time deadline that I have to have it done by. And I'll post it here and probably Wattpad. Depends on what kind of story it turns out to be. Also tell me if it should be a fanfiction. Though I only probably know enough about Harry Potter, Supernatural, and possibly Teen Wolf, but only preseason four. I will only probably do a few like 3 to 5 depending on how many I get and the time restraints on each along with the word count they want from me.

Christmas Panic

It’s close to Christmas time and I still don’t know what to get Lydia. Knowing her, she got my presents in July. Now Christmas is two weeks away and I still have nothing for my girlfriend. Lydia is sitting on my bed and I try to avoid the topic of Christmas. I of course fail because it is Lydia.

Lydia says “Have you gotten me a present yet?”

I sigh and say “Can’t I just give you $20 and you can buy something for yourself? I have no idea what to get, Lyds.”

Lydia laughs at me and says “No absolutely not. If Derek can come up with a gift for me, so can you. You are my girlfriend.”

I frown and say “I don’t understand why it was easy when we were just best friends and now that we’re together I have no idea.”

Lydia laughs and says “You’re putting too much pressure on yourself now, Ally. That’s why it’s hard. So relax about it and just get me something.”

I nod and say “It’s our first Christmas together. I just want it to be special.”

Lydia smiles softly and says “Ally, I love you. You’re worrying too much. It’ll be special because it’s us and the Pack. Stop thinking too much. You’re a badass and you’re going to let a Christmas present defeat you?”

I shake my head and say “You’re right. I’m not going to let it defeat me. I’ll get it tomorrow, I have an idea.”

Lydia laughs and says “Come on, Ally. Let’s watch the Notebook.”

I laugh and say “Fine. We’ll watch The Notebook. For the fifth time this month.”

I settle down with Lydia on my bed and set up my laptop to play the Notebook. I pull Lydia into my arms when I’m done and the movie is playing. I’m just going to get the book that she told me she wanted and her favorite chocolates. She’ll be okay with that I’m sure. Either way she loves me and Christmas will be special because we’re all going to be together for the first time in what feels like years. Though it’s only been a few months since we were all home from college. It’ll be great to be with the Pack again.

Friends in fanfic always give the main characters such wise, sage advice. “You’re just scared” “Tell him how you feel” “You should talk to him”. Where are the friends giving shitty advice? I want to read about dumb friends who are as clueless as the protagonist — “keep your feelings to yourself, mate,” shit like that
