Amazing Hyper-realistic Statues! by Jackie K. Seo - Jamie Salmon

Jackie K. Seo and Jamie Salmon’s hyper realistic sculpture capture every wrinkle, vein, and hair with uncanny realism and attention to detail.

Hyper-Realism, the art of making something look incredibly real and detailed, is a trend that has been sweeping the art world in recent years. From paintings that seem like they were photographed to statues that seem to be seconds away from blinking and coming to immediate life. These next examples belong to the latter category, with incredible statues you will have a hard time believing aren’t real!

Incredibly Beautiful Glass Sculptures by  Jack Storms

Incredibly talented and skilled beyond all reason, Jack Storms was destined to be someone really amazing.  Both a tremendous athlete and a motivated student growing up in New Hampshire, it wasn’t until later in life that Jack discovered his passions in contemporary art and graduated at age 30 from Plymouth State University with a BA in Art focusing primarily on studio production.  It was during his junior year there that he happened upon what would eventually become an entryway to his legacy, the studio of a glass artist that was close to his school where he was producing a phenomenally rare style of glass art work combining lead crystal and dichroic glass using a cold-glass process.  The process itself which required weeks and weeks to produce even one completed glass sculpture was incredibly intense and physically challenging, and the number of glass artisans working in this form of fine art could be counted on one hand.  Working side by side with the artisan for over a year, Jack learned every component and facet of this incredibly challenging and rare art form and eventually was a strong enough sculptor to branch out on his own in 2004 and open StormWorks Studio.

Illustrator Sébastien DEL GROSSO freelance graphic designer from Paris, France (previously) recently updated his portfolio with a new batch of awesome  illustrations.

In this series “The sketch of a life”, I wanted to illustrate my life, like my sketches gave birth to each of his actions or by the intervention of someone I are close (for exemple in “sketch your mentor” with the intervention of my grandmother who taught me in the drawing), or events that have been important to me (like in “sketch the life” with the birth my daughter “Cataleya”), but also with something a little more humorous (in “Catch & Sketch” for example with the intervention of my friend Cal Redback, or in “sketch and fight” with a battle of two artists with each his technique)

Bibliochaise By Nobody&co

Bibliochaise by Nobody&co

I was just thinking how perfect this would be for my humble little apartment when I read the designer’s quote:

“Twelve years ago we lived in a tiny flat, full of books but with nowhere to sit. Problems are always the best inspirations. That same year we drew the first Bibliochaise: a cube in which to sit, with slots all around to put books in. Geometry is magic. Each time you draw a cube or a square, something wonderful can happen.”

Perfect summary. Apparently the chair can hold 300 books and (even more win) comes in a range of different colors. You can visit its home right here.
