~~ what’s coming is better than what is gone ~~
For all types - non-dark, dark, and platonic.
And no, it’s not about continuing WIPs :)
As we all know, the year is coming to an end. We can all agree that the events we have witnessed and gone through so far -especially in November alone- have been one hell of a roller coaster ride for us. There is no doubt that the negative side of the scale had overruled for the better part of the year. While 2020 has been a disastrous year, the number alone tainted in our memories forever, let’s not make the ending the same.
I’ll admit that I’ve never believed in ‘new year, new beginnings’ for a while now. In spite of that, some lingering hope is always present inside me. Hope that somewhere around the corner, things would change for the better. It gives me enough hope to not let pessimism take over. It gives me motivation and determination to keep myself going, to better myself and never back down.
And so my friends, I invite you to the Next Chapter Writing Challenge, where I’ve decided to not keep not to keep any prompts. There will be no prompts to adhere to, to guide us or to limit us. (This is in no way meant to disrespect other challenges with prompts. It’s simply something I wanted to try.)
What will the fics be about then? A new year is soon going to begin with endless possibilities. Similarly, the fics too will be about anything and everything the writer desires. Any and all plot points are game for this challenge. (Except for underage and toilet play and stuff like that). The only conditions are that:
the fics may or may not quote it (totally the writer’s decision)
but must adapt the meaning of:
No matter the events in the fic, it must end in a hopeful manner, on a positive note. Such that whether hidden or disclosed with words, the next chapter of the character’s life has hope for a better future; to begin/continue the next chapter of their lives with peace and happiness. So that it gives us a of ending the year and entering the new one with a lighter, more hopeful and happier heart. A new year, a new beginning, with renewed hope. The world doesn’t end with a few mishaps. Our story must go on. (Hope my babbling has gotten across my point to you.)
Characters:
It’s open to ALL Marvel and Supernatural characters!
Though RPF is not allowed, any and all characters played by Sebastian Stan are open to be written. For Chris Evans, this is open for Steve Rogers, Curtis Everett and Andy Barber.
It can be just the ships, or character x reader, or ships x reader; whether canon or fanon or something that you made up on your own. Anything! Any and all pairings are accepted with open arms!
Due Date:
It’s 20th January, 2021 (Wednesday). But don’t worry about the time limit. Just text me if you think you’ll need more time. Life doesn’t revolve around Tumblr, I know.
Other Details:
It can be a drabble, oneshot, multichapter series. It can be non-dark, dark, platonic. It can be fluff, smut, angst… Anything! It can be a part of a single chapter in an ongoing series or be mixed with another request/prompt. Literally… Anything! Just be sure to use appropriate tags. And add the keep reading.
There must be NO underage smut, or pedophilia or extreme kinks like toilet play (sorry) or anything. Though I’ll allow ONLY sibling!incest (yes that’s a kink of mine).
Tag me. And just to be sure, because I don’t trust Tumblr anymore, text me.
There is no limit on how many entries you can give.
Kindly reblog for signal boost.
Thank you!

➵ 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 | James Barnes, a widowed single dad, had forgotten what love felt like and let it crush him, taking his daughter, Rebecca, with him. He was cold, rude, and arrogant, being one of the few teachers at Westview High School the students seemed to absolutely despise. But when you show up, a hopeful math teacher who’d previously taught Rebecca’s kindergarten class, and are adored by your students and colleagues- James’s attitude starts to change.

Bucky Barnes + 🦾
Summary: In this city: money talks and respect means everything. One wrong move and you could never be heard from again.
The Wooden family are the head of the table. They provide the city with everything they need and have their hands in every politicians wallet. If you’re smart, you’ll watch how you move around their city.
New in town, Lu Xin Lee has his eyes set on becoming a big name. Coming from San Francisco, the name Wooden means nothing to him but he’ll have to learn respect quickly if he wants to be successful and even better, alive.
Army vet, James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes has learned that his country that he fought so hard to “protect” has no intentions of truly repaying him the way he deserves. He finds himself venturing into a new career path that is the opposite of where he once stood.
Y/N Wooden is the heir to the family business. Her mother and father, Nia and Angel, gave her all the tools she’d need to succeed them once they retire from the game for good. Until then, she’s just going to have fun.
Warnings: 18+, alcohol & drug use, cheating, smut, depictions of violence, PTSD, slow burn

okay, this one definitely made me cry 😭💞
every time a black writer on here gets a message asking them (or really demanding them) to write white readers, i just think about that interview toni morrison did that one time where the interviewer asked if she’ll ever write about white people in a substantial way and the way she just said to them “you can’t even begin to understand the racism of that question” or something along those lines. fandom in general, and fic in particular, has alienated black, and poc overall, readers since day one and for all the posts about diversity in fanfic that circulate on here, i never see anons holding their faves who write white readers accountable for more diversity. instead, you accost black writers making a space for themselves to make room for you. you who can suspend all disbelief to read about readers who are assassins and mutants, but can’t change or ignore features in a poc reader fic so you don’t feel “uncomfortable” (which, by the way, is an issue in and of itself). black people are allowed to tell stories that include us explicitly. full stop. and no one is asking you to read those stories if you don’t want to. coming into black/poc writers’ spaces to tell them they can’t include themselves in the fanfic world is racist point blank and you will never have any legs to stand on in that argument. so just… shut up. stay on blogs that cater to you and leave us alone lmaooo
