Love love love characters that present themselves as emotionally open social butterflies but the more you see of them the more obvious it is that they’re the most closed off fuckers in the story. Sure, they want to help you with your personal problems and messy emotions, but if you turn that shit back on them, they’ll shut down or deflect every time. Why are you sticking your nose in their business anyway? It’s not like it matters. They’re not a person, they’re just a role being played. They’re the guy who fixes things and saves people. Please ignore the man behind the mask, he’s fine. Everything’s fine.

Ok but 15 year old Ed angrily confessing to Roy and he's all smug like oh do you really like me or is this one of your whims? And Ed getting all pissed and raging and ultimately settling on promising,

"I'll make you fall in love with me back, you bastard! Just you see!"

Ed stoms out and Roy can only watch him go with a satisfied smile on his face. Then Riza comes up to him and asks in a low voice if he plans on telling Ed that whatever plan he comes up with will fail because Roy is already in love with him and Roy just goes,

"I want to see what he comes up with first, it's bound to be highly entertaining"

He's just trying to figure out when's it gonna be safe to tell the kid and Riza knows but doesnt say anything

Alphonse: Brother... I need some advice.

Edward: ...With what?

Alphonse: How did you know you were in love with the Colonel? Like, when did you guys figure that out?
