Alastor is here for all your "Princess Consoling" needs!!!~
I dreamt Alastor was in The Little Mermaid last night, and in thinking how the movie would go down with him in it, well.. it spurred this. XD

If u had any free time and felt like drawing something that random lil rascal requested, would you consider drawing Charlie or Vaggie in you artstyle🥺🥰
Why not both, both is good ✨
I just saw one of the many ways that rape culture is subtley normalized in media.
I won't say what show I was watching because I don't want any spoilers, but the main character is a shifty guy who's meant to have a good heart regardless, and we're meant to sympathize strongly with him. He tricked a drunk woman into having sex with him by telling her a direct lie about who he was. She woke up horrified at being lied to and he went through his morning routine undisturbed by her outrage or her abrupt departure. The writers try to make it an amusing and light-hearted situation, like, "Boys will be boys! What a scoundrel, how funny, right?"
It isn't funny. It's sexual assault.
Imagine being the sort of "person" who lies to someone in order to get them to sleep with you with the understanding that they wouldn't come near you if you were honest about yourself; knowing that you were subverting their right to be selective about sexual partners and treating them like an object for your use rather than a human being who has the right to decide who has access to their bodies. Yet this is what this man did, and the show just moved on like it was no big deal instead of addressing what it actually was: a sign of a soulless, exploitative sexual predator, and someone no one should be sympathizing with.
There are SO many examples of this. Did anyone ever see those dumbass movies from the early 2000's, Superbad and 40-Year Old Virgin? The former is entirely about two teenage moids trying to get their classmates drunk so they'll be incapacitated enough to have sex with them, fully acknowledging that the girls would regard it as a mistake...
"𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘆 '𝗔𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝘁-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝘂𝘆? ' 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲!"
The latter is about a man getting advice as to how to manipulate women into sex, which in one scene involves targeting women who are so inebriated that they're stumbling out of the bar. The men in the movie compare "drunk bitches" to gazelles and themselves to tigers, openly admitting that they're predators.
"𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘀. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲? 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝗡𝗔, 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 "𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲." 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 "𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗸 𝗯*𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀."
This all plants the idea that there is nothing serious about men preying on women; that it's even funny in it's own way. A lot of times, these men even have their happily ever after (or something closely resembling it) with the woman they preyed upon. I'm not even 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 to think of examples and tons of them are crashing down on me. Another is the Breakast Club, where John Bender insulted Claire the entire time, made her cry, attempted to fucking 𝘴𝘦𝘹𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳 under the table...
And yet at the end she kisses him multiple times and gives him her diamond earring.
Why? WHY? It makes me want to scream, cry, and vomit! I feel such despair at all of this because it's EVERYWHERE. The message of "Yeah just let men do what they want to you okay, it's normal, dont be such an uptight bitch, it's just what guys do and it's not a big deal" is all over the place and it's no wonder women have such a low standard for decent behavior from males. It's intentional. You have a million shitbag males in movies and shows who you're told to like and to root for while they abuse women who adore them at the end, after all they've done to them. Why would you not believe this is all normal when you're seeing it wherever you turn?
Sometimes it feels like such a huge problem, so all-pervasive, that I just want to throw in the towel. But ALL through my most impressionable years, no one pointed out any of this to me. No one said, "Look at what they're trying to make you believe is normal. Isn't that disgusting and pathetic?" 𝘕𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 talks about it, and I wish someone had! So if even ONE woman becomes more vigilant about the messages she's being fed through these storylines, and the way these situations are portrayed as normal, funny or charming, and these characters as "good guys" when actually they are 𝘴𝘦𝘹𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 and NONE of this is normal or okay...
Then it was worth writing a post about.
I keep seeing people call the Trump administration shit like “schizophrenic” and “psychotic” and can we fucking not do this please???? schizophrenics and people with psychosis have a biological and neurological basis for their behavior and beliefs. there is no biological basis for being racist and sexist and a monster. schizophrenics and ppl with psychosis are innocent. you can’t beat bigotry with more bigotry
Ok so this is a bit of a crack theory, I don’t actually believe it, but it’s funny so I’m posting it anyway.
Hazbin Hotel. Alastor does not show any parental bond towards Charlie until episode 5, when Lucifer shows up. Alastor quickly deduces that Lucifer’s lackluster parenting skills is a weak point, and thus makes himself, someone Lucifer had previously dismissed as beneath him, out to be a more capable father figure.
That itself is not the theory, just the setup so we’re all on the same page. So. What if Charlie saw right through Alastor’s plan to one up her actual dad, and, fed up with Lucifer’s past behavior herself (we see earlier in the episode that she is the one who is reluctant to call Lucifer), she, hear me out, PURPOSEFULLY GOES ALONG WITH IT.
Like, she sees that Alastor doesn’t actually view her as a daughter and is just saying so to get under Lucifer’s skin, but instead of calling him out she plays along! And that’s exactly what happens in Hell’s Greatest Dad, Charlie is very much on board Alastor’s side of the song, agreeing at every opportunity, while with Lucifer she is just… lost, confused. Occasionally awed, but she never really joins in on his part.
Of course, unlike Alastor, Charlie actually has a more benign reason to be tricking her dad. She wants him to see sinners as people, and what better way to do that than to show how one of the worst sinners has helped her? And later in the episode, Alastor is the actual reason Lucifer changes his views and agrees to help Charlie with her dream! I’m too lazy to get the actual quotes, it it went something like this:
Alastor: in the background, giant, terrorizing the loan sharks
Lucifer: “This is why you can’t trust sinners, they always end up destroying everything.”
Charlie: “His method’s are a little… extreme. But he’s doing it to protect the hotel!”
Lucifer: “Uh huh. Isn’t he the reason you’re being attacked in the first place?”
Charlie: “At least he’s actually been here! How come he believes in me and you don’t.”
Lucifer: (thinking) Oh crap oh fuck
Something like that lol. Again don’t feel like finding the actual quotes. But yeah even if Alastor’s showboating about being a better father were exaggerated, the fact that he presented himself as a better father is the silver bullet Charlie needed to change Lucifer’s point of view, or at least give him a wake up call.
To reiterate, the “crack theory” part of this is just that Charlie purposefully went along with Al’s embellished motivations during Hell’s Greatest Dad. Personally I think she was blinded by Alastor’s change of tone that her optimism made her actually believe what he was saying (I think Charlie and Lucifer were the only two actually fooled by Alastor, but they were the only two that mattered for that particular trick)
Everything else, like how Charlie used Alastor twisted version of help to convince her father to help her, is either canon or a more solid theory.
(stuff I've just made up for myself, you can borrow)
1. First and foremost, get rid of the love hierarchy.
It's not Friendship < Romance, it's not a competition. People do experience very different kinds of attraction, yet it's more if an endless color spectrum, not a pyramid to climb??? Which leads us to
2. Pick a color and play with saturation.
Don't do the "I love you more than a friend". What you actually mean is "I love you differently and I want to change terms, because I'm afraid my color of love is more saturated than I thought." Let it be painfully purple or sparkly yellow or grey, characters can experience different love towards different characters. What matters is the INTENSITY. And yes, common friendship CAN be intense as fuck.
3. Never undress your character for sex.
"The desire is stronger when it cannot be fully satisfied", so unless you're writing smut specifically, maybe try writing allegorical sex? There's a lot of things to choose from: beating the shit out of eachother, cutting hair, cooking, clinical procedures, stabbing, solving a murder, you name it! Put the accent on the characters' emotions and reactions rather than their obvious body parts.
Also bonus points if they don't realise that this intense intimate thing they just did is considered sensual.
4. Write closure that doesn't actually mean much.
I mean closure always means something. That the person likes another one. But people CAN and DO adore, lightly touch and hug eachother without it meaning that they want another person romantically or sexually. Sometimes people just see aesthetic beauty in someone. Sometimes they just want to be held. Make those guys have a hot and steamy sumo fight in the sauna that will strengthen their platonic bond!!!
5. Don't address what kind of love they're having.
For a change you may try making these characters love eachother in a way that doesn't require the "are we friends or are we lovers" discussion. Sometimes it's irrelevant. Sometimes it's just people who want to be together forever and dwelling on fitting in the box won't bring anything useful.
6. Some people don't love.
Sometimes a person can enjoy being around someone without loving them. Explore that possibility. Why? What is it that makes B important in the eyes of A who is unable to love or relate? What If both of them are unloving?
7. The absence of love is indifference.
If someone still cares about someone, it cannot the opposite of love. Try switching the love formula with hate or envy or fear or hunger. You'll see that in some way it still kind of works??? As long as they're feeling REALLY intensely about this.
8. Forget the misunderstanding/betrayal cliches!!!
There's nothing more satisfying than promising to run away together AND PROCEED. Or when someone overhears and misunderstands another but still STOPS and LISTENS. Emotional maturity is soooo sexy!!
9. Don't put romantic partners over friends.
Make them be friends and be close all together. A partner is ALSO a friend. Make them not jealous, make all 3+ of them be open and comfortable with eachother, don't be afraid of sharing the time and attention because everyone in the group love and respect each other! Even if your relationships maybe on slightly different terms! Your mutual friend can make a very big and meaningful gift for your partner and it's beautiful! That's something to cherish!
Also DON'T LIE IF SOMETHING COMES UP, just TALK it out like adults, please!!!
10. Don't be scared of het.
There's nothing wrong with a woman and a man loving each other. What you actually probably have problem with is misogyny and sticking to the same patriarchal norms over and over again. These are NOT built in het inherently!!! What you should actually focus on is their personalities and love/respect for eachother that would be in character, not in the rule book.
Also don't try to turn the tables in attempt to fix the stereotypes. By making a butch x wet cat malewife pair (when in canon neither of them are it??) (JUST because you have problem with fem women loving masculine men) you're not really fixing it, that's still a patriarchal power fantasy. Look deeper.
Yeeeaaa that's about it for now.
And of course, happy holidays as well!
As much as I enjoy the Christmas cheer and I suppose Charlie's never extending excitement for it, it gets rather dull, doesn't it? I must say personally Christmas is a time I dread. However, I hope you enjoyed it and your families didn't drive you too wild. Hah!
Charlie as always put up quite a show at the Hotel and I suppose, I enjoyed myself for once. Angel Dust insisted on singing Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt which is, of course, in character. Gift exchanging was quite interesting.
Lucifer as always, showered his darling Charlie in gifts (which I outdid by the way). Ah, the quality of the gifts is what matters which is what Lucifer has yet to realize. Even a singular incredible thoughtful gift can outdo all else. (It was the Heathers musical on tape directly from the Human World, if anyone was wondering. She hasn't even seen it yet!).
Niffty...well, I gave her cyanide! I'm sure she'll do right by it! Biochemical warfare should be quite fun in the hotel, hm?
I'm a wonderful gift giver aren't I! Don't be shy, compliments are welcome as always.
How are people shocked that snoop dogg is a bad person? The same guy who literally brags about being a pimp? Really? You’re surprised that guy supports Trump? Oh okay
I didn’t realize you were the person who did the fanfiction tag drinks.
ahah yeah that's meeee!!
