"Jayce, what is this. It feels like my brain is slowed. I do not like this"

He remembers what it was like being tired before the accident and goes to the coffee machine but Jayce stops him.

"Is this not what you do when you're tired?"

"That's one way to deal with it but I think you should get some sleep. Let's go back to our place"

They head home and after a while of trying to sleep Viktor knocks on Jayce's door.

"I do not think I've been able to sleep"

"mhm? how are you feeling?"

"Like my skin is... harsh. It's unpleasant but not quite pain"

"Oh you're probably cold. The heater in your room never was that good. Come, you can sleep in my bed"

They climb into bed together, Viktor remembers times they've done that before when he was cold or needed someone to hold him on days he was in a lot of pain. They lay there for a while before Viktor speaks again.

"Jayce there is this pulse. A rhythm. I don't know what to call it"

"When was the last time you felt it?"

"When I awoke I think? from the accident. It was unpleasant then, it feels good now"

"You were cold then?"

"No, that isn't it"

"Does it remind you of anything you felt before the accident"

Viktor didn't really talk about his feeling before then so even though he can pull up some memories associated with this feeling that doesn't help him to name it.

"It was always around you, I think. I remember feeling it often when we were working, or also not working? I don't quiet remember"

"hmm, let's save this for the morning, okay?"

he watches Jayce nod off while letting his mind slowly run through memories associated with this emotion until he comes up with one that has a word associated with it.

He's laying down on a couch in a small run down room, a woman places a warm wet towel over his head and hold his hand. He coughs, "thank you, mom" "feel better soon sweetheart, I love you, okay?" "I love you too"

"Love... " he says in realization. He wraps his arms around a fast asleep Jayce. "I... love you"

sleepless nights

magnus is the only primarch who has slept with baseline humans. he’d shapeshift down to regular size, switch to the appropriate genitalia, and go to town. sounds great, right? wrong. imagine getting your back blown out, but then you hear scratching noises in the background. you look over and there’s a floating notepad with a frantically scribbling pen. motherfucker is TAKING NOTES.

they managed to convince gobber to not tell anyone about the whole "lycanwing" thing with tuff being a lie. they just let people believe he's actually a lycanwing. whenever it's a full moon, the riders act all solemn and twitchy. tuff is nowhere to be seen. if you ask ruff, she just looks at you sadly. gothi and stoick are the only ones who know it's a joke. berk lives in fear. the truth only comes out roughly a year or so later, when they forget it's a full moon and everyone's just like, "oh."

they regularly have prank wars. there are alliances, betrayals, double-agents, everything of the sort. don't tell fishlegs anything; he's a blabbermouth. don't trust astrid; she will use this prank against you. if you go after hiccup, the revenge will be 10x worse. the twins are not against using violence. stoick banned their prank wars on berk. now, they go to a random island to go completely savage.

once, in an extremely sleep-deprived state, snotlout made a "your mum" joke to hiccup. before they knew she was alive. hiccup now brings it up whenever he needs to win an argument.

they use chicken, her babies, and the dragons to make weird, soap opera-esque performances. they get very creative.

they've all tried to learn gothi's stick language. the results vary. hiccup is fluent in it. fishlegs can understand most, but not all of the symbols. after that, it's ruffnut and tuffnut. snotlout and astrid can't understand it at all. languages are not their thing.

when they get drunk, it gets pretty weird. fishlegs is a paranoid drunk. snotlout cries, as does tuff. astrid gets unreasonably angry. hiccup tries - and fails - to complete stunts he's never attempted before. (thankfully, toothless doesn't allow this. he made that mistake once. never again.) ruffnut just flirts with people.

ruff has SO MUCH rizz. like, an ungodly amount of it. she pulls so many bitches (especially the wing maidens, cough cough).

the twins helped hiccup with making the dragon blade explode. many tests were conducted, and much property damage occured. eventually, they had to just move to an uninhabited island (aka prankster's isle) in order to test it properly.
