I Don't Deserve You {Peter Parker X Reader}

I Don't Deserve You {Peter Parker x Reader}

Peter looked at you with so much hurt in his eyes knowing you wouldn’t want to end something like this, he didn’t want to end something like this.

“Listen, I don’t deserve you okay. You’re beautiful and smart and funny. You’re perfect, you deserve someone who’ll be there for you, who wouldn’t ditch you in the middle of dates. Who would hug you when you’re scared and all. Y/N you deserve more than what I can offer.” He says

“Peter, if there’s anyone here who doesn’t deserve their partner it’s me. I understand why you have to ditch me at times, I understand why you can’t always hug me when I’m scared but that’s okay because I know you’re doing something for the greater good. Peter I love you.” You tell him, tears stinging in your eyes and you’re mouth trying to hold inter sobs that could escape at any moment. You couldn’t believe both of you would just walk away. You didn’t want to. Peter didn’t want to.

“Y/N, I love you so much but you need to be with someone who truly makes you happy–” you cut him off, tears now flowing from your eyes like an endless stream.

“YOU MAKE ME HAPPY! Peter you make me so happy you don’t even know how much.” Peter tried to argue but I guess he saw that there was nothing to fight for.

“I don’t know what to fight for anymore.” He murmurs.

“US! Fight for us Peter because I know you love me you’ll fight for us.” You sob. You look at Peter and he’s crying too, he doesn’t want to do this but he’s thinking about what would happen if you continued to be in a relationship with you, the thought of losing you to one of his enemies kept him up all night.

“Peter, you won’t lose me.” You whisper. He looks up at you with a bit of hope in his eyes, hope to know that he deserves to love and be happy whilst being Spider-Man.

“You won’t lose me too.”

Unexpected News - Bucky Barnes x Reader

Requested by anonymous

Prompt: “We have to get out of here…I’m pregnant.”

A/N: I hope this doesn’t suck, BECAUSE I LIKE IT

Unexpected News - Bucky Barnes X Reader

“Ready, doll?” The Winter Soldier smiled over at you.

You nodded at him, anxiety washing over you. Last night you figured out that you were pregnant and you still haven’t said a word to your husband. The Avengers were called for a mission so you thought that it was best to not give the team a distraction.

I’ll tell him after. You reassured yourself.

He reached for your hand and pulled it to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss against your knuckles. You took a deep breath and returned your focus to the metal doors in front of you.

“Now, (Y/N).” Cap instructed you. You raised your hands and glared at the doors. They began to dent and were soon lying on the floor in crumbled pieces.

You ran in after Nat and she took out three of the agents while you used your gift to throw around huge objects, distracting them. She turned around and shouted a you. “I’ve got the rest of them! Go with Bucky and help him disable the alarms.”

You took off for your husband, grabbing his bionic arm after he knocked out another agent. “Nat said to shut down the alarms. Let’s go.” He nodded and the two of you ran for the next set of doors which you took down easily. Behind them was a row of panels in which two men were seated at. They looked at you in horror as you lifted them with your mind and threw them to opposite walls. Bucky was already fumbling with the switches but the alarms were still wailing. Finally he gave up and just slammed his fist through the main panel. The sirens quieted and the two of you sighed in relief.

All of a sudden, Sam’s voice sounded through the small speaker in your ear. “Clint’s got eyes on hostiles, fifty maybe more. Run now!”

“Buck, we gotta go. More are coming.” By the time the two of you made it back into the main passageway, the enemies were already filtering in. You were overcome with terror and looked over to your husband. “We have to get out of here now…I’m pregnant…” Your worried eyes stared into his.

“What?” His face switched from shock, to confusion, to anger.

About six other what?’s echoed in your ear. You weren’t thinking that everyone could hear you.

You tore your eyes away from him and picked off a few of the men entering the doorway. He busied himself with fighting as you spoke to the others.

“Anyone wanna help us out here? Sam? Tony?”

“Got it.” Sam swooped back inside and knocked more out with his wings. Tony followed suit, shooting at them from above.

“Where’s Cap?” You asked in fear.

“With Romanoff. They’ll finish the rest as long as we fight these guys off.” Tony replied.

“I can’t believe you came on this mission without telling me!” Bucky shouted from next to you, still in the midst of combat.

You twisted the arm of a man who came running at you. Then you kicked his feet out from under him and harshly collided your foot with his face, knocking him out.

“I just didn’t want you to worry.” You yelled back.

“Too late now! I worry about you enough and now you tell me that you’re carrying my child!”

“I’m sorry!” You started to cry out of frustration.

Tony’s voice came into your earpiece. “Can’t you guys argue about this later?”

Bucky ignored him. “I’m going to get you out of here, okay?”

“Okay.”

“We got it. Headed back your way.” Nat said.

Bucky used his metal arm and punched his victim in the stomach, sending him flying. By now only a few were left, which Tony and Sam were taking on without any problem. Your husband rushed over to you and wrapped you in his arms tightly. “You’re insane. Are you alright?” He pulled back and examined you up and down with worried eyes.

“I’m fine.” You smiled guiltily up at him.

“No more missions until our child is born, alright?” He said sternly.

You nodded. “I promise. I’m sorry.”

He shook his head. “God, I love you.” He roughly pulled you against him and kissed you deeply. You threw your arms around his neck and tangled your fingers in his dark hair. You were so caught up in one another that you almost didn’t hear Sam. “Alright, congrats you guys but let’s not undress each other right here.”

You pulled away breathless and blushed, fixing your hair and rubbing your lips. Once everyone was back on the jet, you and Bucky sat side by side with your fingers intertwined. “I love you…I’m so happy to be having your child.” You smiled up at him.

“Me too, doll.” He placed his lips on yours and you smiled as you heard the rest of the team groan.

Because Telling Fat People That They Are In Fact Humans That Deserve Dignity And Respect Automatically

Because telling fat people that they are in fact humans that deserve dignity and respect automatically means you’re ~*GLORIFYING OBESITY*~

By the way, don’t dribble on to me saying you worry about a fat person’s ‘health’. That’s just a bullshit excuse to voice your unwanted opinion on a fat person’s body considering you wouldn’t give a single flying fuckadoodle about someone’s health if they were skinny. Besides another person’s health is none of your damned business anyway. Run along now and preach to a choir that actually cares.

I’m going to be honest, so long as you’re not hurting anyone, you can eat soy sauce and milk duds all day long for all I care.

Quiet Mouse (Bucky Barnes x reader)

Request: The one where the reader is an avenger yet never talks. The reader develops a crush on Bucky. One day some agent makes an insulting remark about Bucky and she tells the agent to screw off.

Warning/s: None.

Author’s note: An alternate universe where Civil War never happened (I don’t like seeing my babies fight and get hurt T^T) and everyone is getting along.

image

Bucky knew what he did was wrong. He did. Steve had constantly reminded him and everyone that it was HYDRA’s fault and not his, and he believed in him. But some people are not convinced. Especially some agents in the Avengers tower.

He was in the briefing room reading a file about the upcoming mission that Fury had assigned him and Steve. The captain left him in the room because he has to go somewhere important. He hid himself behind one of the shelves there when two male agents had entered the room.

“I don’t know why Captain America had brought the Winter Soldier here."

"Yeah. Does he think that we are all supposed to be fine with having a criminal in the same building as we are?"

"For gosh sake, that man is a walking killing machine. He could kill everyone here in this goddamn tower single-handedly."

Normally, when Bucky hears stuff like this, he would just ignore them and be on his way. But sometimes, it gets all a little bit too much. He felt anger seep through his veins as he clenched and unclenched his fist, trying his hardest to calm himself down as he continued listening to the insulting remarks about him that the two agents are exchanging.

Some time during the conversation, Bucky couldn’t take it anymore. He dropped the file on the ground and made his way towards the two agents.

"Hey!” Someone yelled from the door. Bucky stopped his tracks and watched as a figure enter the room. He squinted his eyes to see who it was. When he recognized the person, all the anger he felt melted away in an instant and was replaced by surprise and confusion.

It was (Y/N). Everyone in the world knows her as an avenger. As for the Avengers, they knew her as their friend. Bucky watched as she placed her hands on her hips and glared at the two agents. “First of all, how dare you insult Bucky Barnes. You two have no right to judge him by the way the media portrays him to be. You don’t even know what he had gone through. If you have nothing nice to say, then keep your damn mouths shut.” she scolded, gritting her teeth.

Bucky was surprised. Everyone knows how quiet she is and how she rarely talks, except when it comes to mission and some other stuff. Tony even gave her the nickname “Quiet Mouse” because it fits her perfectly. She’s quiet and a bit short. This didn’t bother her, though. Both her and Bucky had talked before but it was mostly when he or she needed a favor. During some time in the tower, he developed a strong attraction towards her. Something about her was intriguing. He would look at her from a distance and watch how her expression changes when she reads a book, how her eyes hold that hint of amusement when Thor, Tony, and Steve talk about the things which are worthy of lifting Mjölnir, how she observed everyone in the room like the wallflower she is yet always misses his gaze.

The two agents glanced at each other before the other one stepped forward. “So what if we insult Barnes? Is he your boyfriend?” the guy taunted.

“No.” (Y/N)’s glare hardened. “But he’s my friend. And friends have each other’s backs no matter the cost."

The agents chuckled and shook their heads. "Sweetheart, just go back to your books and stuff.” the other guy said.

“If I hear you two insult Bucky again, you better run.” She threatened.

The agents smirked and one stepped closer, wearing a smug look. “Or else what? What will you do?” he stepped closer and leaned forward in a taunting manner. “You will break my bones with your little arms?"

The other agent chuckled at what his pal had said. (Y/N) only smirked before punching him square in the face, making him stumble backward. "I’ll break your face first. Then your bones.” she told him.

Bucky watched the scene with amusement in his eyes. Who knew the quiet mouse can pack a punch. (Y/N) didn’t notice him since he was hiding behind the shelves.

The guy whom she punched stood up and grunted in pain, clutching his now bleeding and broken nose. He glared at her. “You bitch! You’re gonna pay for that!” he said and charged towards her. (Y/N) prepared herself for the impact. She was about to dodge the attack when someone had rushed in front of her and heard metal clash against flesh.

(Y/N) looked up and saw Bucky standing in front of her. Her eyes grew wide. What’s he doing here? she thought to herself.

The agents stared at him looking terrified, especially the one who had swung at her. Bucky glared at them. “Did anyone ever tell you to never try and hit a lady?” he said, his voice sounding deep and sounding annoyed.

“I - I - I - she….“ Bucky gripped the guy’s fist tighter, making the guy yelp in pain. "Do that again and I’ll make sure that you won’t see another day. Both of you.” he said.

The agents nodded in fear and Bucky released his grip on the fist. The two agents hurriedly left the room, for fear that Bucky would break them to pieces. (Y/N) stared at the door where the two agents exited.

Bucky turned around and faced her. He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Hey, are you okay?” he asked.

(Y/N) jumped at the contact and looked up at him with wide eyes. Immediately she felt her cheeks flush in pink and cleared her throat. “Y-yeah, I’m okay. Where did you come from?” she asked looking around.

Bucky rubbed the nape of his neck. “Well, I was already in here when you entered.” he said.

She nodded her head. When she realized this, her eyes grew wide and looked up at him with shock. “Wait, what? Y-you were already here? So that means….” she trailed off before closing her eyes and hid her face on her hands.

Bucky smiled down at her when he saw her cheeks turning pink. Cute, he thought to himself. He nodded, as if she could see him. “Yes, I, uh, heard everything.” he said.

“Oh god….” (Y/N) muttered, groaning in embarrassment.

Bucky chuckled and placed his hands on her arms. “Hey, don’t be embarrassed.” he said. “It’s nice to know that someone still sees the good in me, aside from Steve."

(Y/N) sighed and slowly looked up at him. She chewed on her lip, cheeks still blushing. Bucky looked down at her and gave her a smile — a genuine one. "Thank you for defending me, (Y/N). I appreciate it.” he told her, softly.

(Y/N) returned the smile that he gave her. “You’re welcome, Bucky.” she said.

Bucky smiled and leaned forward, dropping a kiss on top of her head. (Y/N) froze at this as he smirked at her reaction. He stepped back. “I’ll drop by your room at 7. Wear something nice.” he said and walked towards the door.

(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, looking back at him with confusion. “‘Wear something nice’? Why, what’s the occasion?” she asked.

Bucky stopped by the door and turned back to her. “We have a date.” he smirked, winking at her before leaving her in the room.

Both of them could barely contain the smile that was growing on their faces all day.

The File

image

A/N: So I know that I have one more prompt, but this idea came to me last night and I just couldn’t not write it (especially because it’s been a while since I wrote a Bucky fic).  So here it is and I may or may not have NOT studied for my Econ test because of this.  But I’m quite happy with it.

The first time Bucky slides the file under your door, you’re confused.

You’re alone in your room when you hear the sound of light footsteps and a quiet thud.  You look over towards the door and notice the manilla folder, lying inconspicuously on the ground.

You walk over and open it, thumbing through.  You quickly realize it’s a complete file on the Winter Soldier–every kill, every mission.  You close it and leave your room, taking the elevator to Bucky’s floor.

He’s sitting there on the couch when you enter.  He looks up and in the split-second before his face goes blank, you catch a look of…fear?

“Bucky,” you say warmly, subtly putting the folder down on a table behind you.

“(Y/N),” he says, his voice even and unreadable.

“There’s this new bakery that I’ve been dying to try,” you say cheerfully.  “It’s a couple block away, and I’ve heard their beignets are amazing.  Come with me?”

You look at Bucky.  His mouth is still set in a firm line, but his eyes are wide, startled.

“Um…sure,” he says, slowing getting up off the couch.  He walks over to you and you link your arm through his, pulling him over to the elevator.

The doors slide open and you find yourself face to face with Steve.  He looks down at your linked arms, a smile on his face.

“Hey Steve!” you say brightly.  “We’re going to the bakery.  Want anything?”  Steve declines, and on the way down, you ask his opinion on what you should bring back for the other Avengers.  Steve nods and does his best to suggest pastries, but he’s watching Bucky.

Bucky, whose lips are unconsciously curving into what could almost be called a smile.  And as you drag Bucky off the elevator and out of the tower, Steve realizes that he can’t remember the last time Bucky smiled.

-

The second time, you’re at a S.H.I.E.L.D. meeting.  You’re turning in your report for your last mission, reaching into your bag to pull out the typed report file.

Instead, you find the Winter Soldier file in your hands.  You’re taken aback, and for a minute, you forget where you are.

“Agent (Y/L/N),” Nick finally says, bringing your focus back to your surroundings.  “Everything alright?”

“Yes,” you say, though your voice sounds distracted even to you.  “I’m fine.  Grabbed the wrong file.”

After the meeting, you drag Bucky up to your floor for a Jurassic Park movie marathon.

-

The third time, it’s just after a mission.

You and Bucky had gone on your first mission together, just the two of you.  It had been particularly successful, and your were quite pleased with the outcome.  On the way back, you sat in the Quinjet, humming to yourself and crocheting a hat.

You walk back to your room and it’s lying there on the bed.  You stare at it and if looks could kill, the file would have spontaneously combusted within one second of your piercing glare.

But it doesn’t.

The next morning, when Bucky wakes up, there’s a pile of crocheted hats, scarves, pillows and plushies on his desk.

Buried somewhere underneath is the file.

-

The fourth time is early in the morning.

You wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of screams.  You look up at the ceiling and you know exactly what’s going on.

You sprint out of your room and into the waiting elevator, taking it straight up to Bucky’s floor.  You weave through the hallways until you find his bedroom.

You throw the door open and he’s lying there, thrashing and muttering incoherently.  You rush to his side and gently try to wake him from his sleep.  This seems to agitate him more and he throws you backward.  You hit his nightstand, but get right back up, trying again to wake him.  You ignore the sting on your cheek, focusing on calming him.

This seems to work, and slowly, the shaking stops.  He lies in the middle of the bed, quiet and still.  His eyes blink open to find you sitting on the bed next to him.

He opens his mouth to speak, but nothing comes out.

“Move over,” is all you say and he obliges wordlessly.  You slide in next to him, your head on his shoulder, your arm slung over his stomach, and you drift off to sleep.

He lies there frozen in place, his body stiff.  After a few minutes, he relaxes and he wraps his arm around your waist, allowing himself a few hours of nightmare-less sleep.

When you wake up, Bucky’s gone.  You reach up to your face and realize there’s a bandage there.  The bed next to you is neatly made, the damn file resting on top.

You throw the covers off and make the bed.  You leave the file exactly where it is.

-

The next morning, you search the entire tower for Bucky.  Every room, every floor.  You eventually find him in the kitchen, sitting at the table.  In front of him is the file, open.

You shake your head and walk over to him.  He looks up and spots you, not saying anything.

“I’ve been looking for you,” you say simply as you sit down at the table next to him.

He looks up at you before sliding the file toward you.  You shake your head and close it.  His hand, almost of its own accord, reaches up and brushes against the bandage on your face.

“I hurt you, last night,” he says, and the pain in your voice makes your reach up and cover his hand with yours.  “I could hurt you again.”

“You didn’t mean to,” you reply and he shakes his head.

“(Y/N), I’ve done things…” he says haltingly.  “Things I’m not proud of.”

“Tell me that the same thing isn’t true of every single person in this tower,” you reply.

“Have you read it?” he asks, his voice barely higher than a whisper, his eyes darting down to the file.

“I read files on every Avenger when I joined,” you say evenly.

“But this one,” Bucky says.  “Did you read this file?”

“No,” you say.

“Why not?”

“As far as I know, the Winter Soldier isn’t part of the Avengers,” you say simply.  “James Buchanan Barnes, however, is.  And that’s the file I read.”  Bucky looks up at you, and you see his expression soften.

“I don’t…” he stutters.  “I don’t deserve-”

“Don’t even finish that sentence,” you cut him off.  “You deserve everything.  You deserve the sun and the stars and the moon.  You deserve to feel safe, to have friends, to be loved.”

“But-”

You shake your head.  The man will not shut up, so you turn and pull his face to you, silencing him with a kiss.

“I love you, James Buchanan Barnes,” you say.  “And don’t you dare ever believe otherwise.”

The huge grin that spreads across his face–tentatively at first, but then unabashedly content–makes you happier than you’ve ever felt.

“I love you too, (Y/N).”

Bucky strides into your room with a bag of chips in his hands, sitting on your bed and nudging your side. You give him an annoyed look. “What do you want?”

“I just want my best friend back,” he grins.

“Yeah, well, I’m doing something right now,” you answer, typing your report out as fast as you can. It was due in a few hours and you still had to review it and send it to your professor.

“Come on, Y/N!” he whines, laying his head on your shoulder. “I’m busy tonight. And you’ve been working on this for the better part of the week. I miss you, doll.”

So.

As you might imagine, my inboxes have been flooded over the last few days.  My fic represents, for a lot of people, either their start in Avengers fandom, or the safe place they retreat to when the angst and infighting and shipwars got too intense.  Which I get, and I appreciate, and I’m so glad if my old fics can give people a little happiness, even after all this time.

But there’s a thread I keep picking up in comments, that kind of worries me.

That things that happened in the MCU have taken the fandom away from them.  That the way things happened in Endgame have left people distraught, or angry, or just grieving.  And a lot of people have worried that they’ve ‘lost’ these characters.

And look.

Look.

I say this as a fandom old.  I say this as someone who reads comics.  Who came from the Trek fandom.  Who’s lived through bad movie adaptations and subpar ghostwriters and writing staff changes that have destroyed tv shows before they had a chance to really fly.

Don’t let canon take anything away from you.

You can be disappointed in a thing.  You can have your heart broken by a writer.  You can hope against hope that something that means the world to you will be ‘true,’ but don’t let a corporation take your heroes away from you.

Every one of us has to pick and choose what we keep and what we leave behind.  But every single version of Captain America has been fanfiction since Jack Kirby and Joe Simon put their pens down.  He’s owned by a corporation, and they can decide what’s on screen, who gets paid to write him, who gets the big platform.  They get to decide canon.

But canon is meaningless.

Canon is a way to win an argument in a bar or in a schoolyard.  It’s knowing publication dates and issue numbers and who wrote what arc and when the reboots happened.  It exists.

But when I think of Hawkeye, canon is only part of the picture.  I do think of Matt Fraction’s run on the comics.  I do think of those early years, sneaking my brother’s issues of West Coast Avengers.  I think of the weird, wild, off beat run of Secret Avengers.  But I also think of @dr-kara’s art of him.  I think of fanfic long since deleted, that introduced me to the fandom tropes of Clint living in the vents.  I think of the Tumblr posts, diving deep into the psychology of trauma, into his place as the most human and the most pointless of the original six, into a thousand stupid memes.  Caw-caw, motherfucker.  I think of the comments I got, telling me he was OOC.  I think of the Hawkeye cosplayers I’ve met, including the one guy who was in full gear at Star Wars Celebration in Florida.  I asked him why, and he shrugged and said, ‘Clint would’ve.’  I agree with him.

I think of the first time a friend put a bow in my hands, and showed me how to shoot, wobbly and uneven, at a straw target all the way across the yard.

I think of the bruises that dotted my arms afterwards.

So canon can add new things.  Take bits away.  Make me think.  Make me hurt.

But nothing canon does will ever cause him to be different, not on any fundamental level.  Clint Barton started forming in my head when I was eight years old.  He belongs to Marvel, but the version I carry with me has a lot more sources than that.

Guys, this is a long way of saying: find your own version of the character.  Find what you need in a fandom.  And think of canon like that one fic that has a million kudos on AO3 and you just. Don’t.  Know.  Why.  That one fic, that everyone talks about, that you just can’t stand.

If canon doesn’t work for you, then discard it.  And move on.

But don’t let a corporation take a character you love away from you.

Don’t ever let that happen.

Frozen For A Lifetime (Bucky x Reader)

image

(Gif credit to owner)

Fandom: Marvel

Character: Bucky Barnes

Persona: Female

Word Count: 696

Request: imagine Bucky and the reader saying goodbye at the end of the film when it will be frozen, she kisses him and Bucky is surprised then she asks"My God ’ve gone too far? “and he kisses her back and whispering "no”.

Today was a sad day. It marked the beginning of change: a time where superheroes could no longer be superheroes unless they were commanded by the government and a time were those who didn’t sign up were outlaws.

You felt guilty; you, Steve and Bucky were the only ones from your team who were able to escape. The others were being held in some secret location. Clint was unable to see his family, Wanda was being held in a straight-jacket once again, Sam and Scott were also there. But here you were with Steve and Bucky, feeling extremely selfish as you cried tears for the soldier. You should be in one of those cells with them.

You furiously rubbed at your eyes as you felt a couple more tears trickle down your cheeks, you didn’t want either of the men to see you crying, you knew it would only make things harder for Bucky.

“Hey”, Bucky called out softly when he heard you sniffle. You lifted up your head and spotted the blue eyes staring at you. “It’s for the best, right Steve?” the Winter Soldier looked over to his old best friend who could only managed to nod his head curtly. “I can’t trust my mind, this is the safest thing for everyone”, although Bucky was right, it still didn’t make it any easier for you to let him go, but you smiled.

“I know”, you said softly. You walked towards Bucky and Steve, zoning out as they said their goodbyes. You wanted to argue with Bucky, to beg him not to go back under the ice, to plead that there must be another way. Yet how could you convey these thought without expressing your own selfish desire? That you didn’t want him to go back under because you needed him, you were in love with him.

“(Y/N)?” Bucky’s voice pulled you out of your daydreams. “Hmm?” you hummed out. “I was saying goodbye, but I guess you didn’t hear my heartfelt speech”, he laughed which made you and Steve laugh too. The noise was like music to your ears and in the heat of the moment, you couldn’t help yourself.

Your legs moved on their own accord, as did your hands as they grabbed Bucky’s face. Your lips slammed against his desperately. As quickly as the kiss had happened, you ripped your face away from his. “I-I’m s-sorry”, you stammered out in embarrassment. It wasn’t the first time you two shared a kiss, whilst fighting against the act you both shared lots of passionate moments with each other unbeknownst to the team.

You looked down to the floor, “My God, have we gone too far?”, you whispered.

You felt a hand grip the bottom of your chin, it forced you to look up and meet the loving blue eyes you found comfort in, although today you could clearly see the sadness in them.

“No”, Bucky replied as his hand caressed your cheek, then in a flash his lips were against yours. The surrounding doctors and nurses let you have your time together, Prince T’Challa even stopped the doctor once to let you share the kiss a couple of moments longer but eventually all good things have to come to an end.

Bucky rested his forehead against yours as the kiss ended, “You’ll wait for me won’t you?”, he asked hoping that your answer would be yes. “Of course, I’d wait forever if I had too”, you answered feeling fresh tears prickle in your eyes.

“I’ll come back to you when I’m better”, Bucky said pulling his head away from yours, he stroked your hair for the last time and made a mental note of how soft it was. “And I’ll be waiting right by you”.

With one last kiss to your forehead Bucky walked towards the big machine in which he’d be frozen in. Nobody knew how long he’d been in there but he hoped that you’d still be around when he came out of it. You watched with Steve as the Winter Soldier’s blue eyes closed, he almost looked like he was in a peaceful sleep.

Captain America held you as you cried.

Peter didn’t expect this..

After he finished with his fight for Mr. Tony Stark, (Yeah, The Tony Stark. Otherwise known as Iron Man. As in the Iron Man in the Avengers. As in he fought with the flipping Avengers. He’s like an elite hero now or something.) he thought that the Avengers would be done with him now.

At least he kind of hoping.. Do you know how difficult it was explaining to Aunt May why he was gone for so long?

But it didn’t work like that.

Whenever they had a mission near them, he was always asked to go and assist. It was polite enough, sure. But he knew that when Black Widow asked him to do something, there really wasn’t an option for him to refuse.

So here he was now, perching on a ledge of some building while he listened to Natasha and Clint go over the plans. It didn’t seem like that big of a mission, but he wasn’t going to ask to leave. He pissed Widow off once, and even though they kind of shared a name sake, he knew he would get no mercy a second time.

He scanned the ground underneath him absent mindedly, only half listening to the other two at this point. They were just going to find one thug, and he doubted he was going to do little more than web him to the wall so Natasha and Clint could talk to the dude.

But that’s when he saw you, you were walking down the streets with your hands in your pockets and your head down. He smiled a little behind his mask, and forgot for a second that the super spies were even there in the first place.

Everything was fine, Peter thinking about when he was ever going to tell you. It wasn’t healthy not doing so, and it wasn’t fair that you didn’t know why she sometimes cancelled or showed up late to dates. And you were as always oblivious to Spider-Man watching you from rooftops, thinking about what homework you still had to complete and the chores you would have to do when you got home.

Sure, everything was great until it suddenly wasn’t.

When you were walking past a group of teenage boys, there was a couple chuckles before one stood out just after you passed them and called out to you.

“Hey sweetie, put a smile on that pretty face!”

As you glanced over your shoulder startled to see who yelled at you, Peter tensed up on his perch as he watched what was going on.

“If you come over here, I can do it for ya babygirl.”

Before Peter knew what he was doing really, he was already swinging down to land on the ground between you and the group of guys before his friends even stopped laughing.

“Did someone call me?” Peter smiled behind the mask as he spread his arms casually. “But I do have a name though. I actually happen to prefer Spider-Man over baby girl. It’s more direct, you know?”

The guy who was catcalling you, hesitated now. Not quite sure what to say.

“What’s up, kid? Cat got your tongue? Getting a little shy now that you’re getting some attention back?” Peter crossed his arms over his chest, and the guy just shook his head and moved back into the little circle of his friends as they started walking away. “Awe, going so soon? Bummer.”

He turned around to face you to see you have a thoughtful look on your face. Your eyebrows were scrunched together and there was a cute little frown on your lips as you stared at him.

He gulped.

“Thank You,” You murmured slowly.

Peter nodded, trying to play it off cool. “No problem. Just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man coming to offer a helping hand.”

You raised your eyebrows as you took a step closer. “Just my friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, hm?”

“.. Yes.”

“Not an over protective boyfriend in Spandex?”

Peter almost choked on his spit, and immediately turned into a stuttering mess. “W-what are you talking about? I mean.. You’re lovely, but we just met, and-,”

“Peter you can’t seriously believe that I don’t recognize your voice. And I mean.. Spider-Man doesn’t stop in for every jerk who yells at a girl.”

“Maybe he tries his best to.”

“He?”

“Me, I meant.. Me. I do. Because.. Yeah. Because I do. I try my best.”

You took another step forward to him, and taking advantage of the darker time of day and slightly near an alleyway, you reached for his mask.

“You really shouldn’t do that. It’s hardly poli- Oh, you’ve done it. Hi,” Peter grinned shyly down at you when you took his mask off completely and looked up at him an innocent smile.

“You’re really Spider-Man, holy shit.” You muttered.

Peter looked down at the space inbetween you two, and shuffled his feet a little. “I wanted to tell you, it’s just-,”

He got cut off by you suddenly standing up a little straighter to press a kiss on his lips, and wrapped your arms around his neck to keep yourself stable.

It took a second for him to snap out of his confusion, but as soon as he tried to return the affection, a voice cut you two off.

“Get some, bug boy!” Clint shouted down at you two from another rooftop. Both of your heads snapped up to look at him and the Black Widow leaning over the edge grinning at the two of you.

“Is that..?”

“It’s a long story.” Peter grumbled.
