I’m sick of people saying “they’re fictional, get over it.” Whenever I talk about a character dying. Listen here, the characters that I mourn may well indeed be fictional, however, they have taught me so many valuable lessons. Let’s take Steve Rogers for example. Steve taught me not to give up, that friendship is one of the most valuable things, and to stand up for what you believe in even if you’re standing alone or going against something bigger then yourself. Tony Stark, He taught me how knowledge is the greatest weapon, to keep going no matter what, that you aren’t your parents, and he taught me anxiety isn’t an obstacle which can’t be tackled. Natasha Romanoff taught me that your past doesn’t define you and that everyone makes mistakes but you shouldn’t judge people on that. She taught me that you can start fresh and you can become someone better then what you were. All of them taught me to keep going, to try and make the world a better place not just for everyone but for myself. I know the actors are still here. But these characters have undeniably left a huge mark on my heart, and taught me things no teacher, parent or friend has. These lessons have made me the person I am today, impacted every choice I’ve made and I’ve found myself slowly becoming the person I want to be. I owe a lot to them. The Suck-Kovian Accords

I can’t seem to put Civil War out of my mind so I had to type out this quick one shot. Imagine your dating Steve, when the Sokovian Accords are announced. You don’t know if he is right by not signing and you’re not sure if you agree with your father, Tony Stark either. Just a quick, spoiler free Civil War imagine! :D (And yes Sokovian is spelled wrong in the title on purpose.)

It was late at night, most of the Avengers had retired to their rooms, but you couldn’t sleep. The Secretary of Defense had left the compound hours ago and yet the videos he’d played for the team were still flashing through your mind’s eye. Your thoughts turned to Sokovia. You had seen so much destruction in the name of justice. Wanda had even lost her brother. To make matters worst the Scarlet Witch still felt guilty for the most recent incident with Crossbone.

There was certainly enough evidence for the UN, and Tony, to convince the team to sign the Sokovian Accords. Still, there was this feeling you couldn’t shake. Maybe there was some validity to Steve’s side of things too. Civilians didn’t understand the types of difficult choices that faced masks like the Avengers everyday. Was it really the right choice putting so much trust in a suit and tie who could barely comprehend the gravity of their power? There was clearly no correct answer you decided as you drained your coffee cup down to its bottom.

Masterlist

You’d first met Bucky at one of Tony’s elaborate parties. Completely by accident, while trying to avoid the crowded social event, you’d stumbled out onto an empty balcony and right into Bucky. He too disliked large crowds, they made him anxious. From that moment, the two of you were inseparable. He would help you with your research in the lab and you would calm him in the middle of the night after a particularly frightening nightmare. Tony would often find the two of you at the kitchen table in the early hours of the morning, just sitting together in comfortable silence while sipping on coffee. The two of you never put any kind of label on your relationship, but if you had, Bucky wouldn’t hesitate to call you his.

This weekend you were faced with another of Tony’s social get-togethers. He was hosting a pool party for everyone on the team in celebration of the success of their last mission. You’d planned on skipping it, opting instead to catch up on your favorite TV shows with a warm blanket and your favorite snacks. Wanda and Natasha had other plans. The two of them waltzed into your room, tossing you a towel and a new bathing suit. “Put that on. You’re coming out with us.” Wanda used her power to levitate your laptop away from you. You loved the two women like sisters, but they didn’t understand your lack of social skills. Realizing that they wouldn’t leave you be until you complied, you reluctantly changed, draping the towel around your shoulders. Natasha and Wanda  excitedly made their way to the pool, leaving you to wander the hallways on your own. As you neared the door to the pool deck, Steve stopped you. “Hi, Y/N! It’s good to see you out and about! Tony told me about the new project you’re working on and, I have to say, I think it’s brilliant.” He gave you a radiant smile and you shyly thanked him before finding the chair farthest from the pool and settling down with your book.

After about twenty minutes, your body temperature was too high to allow you to sit comfortably. You contemplated going back inside to the air conditioned living room but remembered something Wanda had told you during one of your late-night talks. “You need to take risks, Y/N. I know it might seem scary at first, but you might discover something new about yourself.” Mustering up all the confidence you could manage, you dropped your towel and stepped into the pool. The cool water rippled around you and you decided you were quite pleased with this decision. You kept to the far end of the pool, avoiding the splashing and rough housing from the rest of the team. You jumped slightly when you felt a presence behind you. 

“So they made you come out too?” The ends of Bucky’s long hair were dripping as he rested his arms on the ledge of the pool. “Steve and Natasha came in this morning and practically threatened me.” he added with a light laugh. You returned his smile and the two of you talked for the next few minutes, occasionally splashing each other playfully if a sarcastic comment was made. Suddenly, Thor announced that he would like to attempt the human custom known as ‘the cannonball’ and proceeded to take a running leap toward the pool. Bucky pulled you toward his chest, attempting to use his body to shield you from the giant wave Thor’s jump had produced. Unfortunately, the two of you were hit with an enormous wall of water. 

When you opened your eyes, wiping the droplets from your face, you had to stifle a laugh. Bucky’s hair was completely plastered to his face. You couldn’t see his eyes or his cheeks and his lips were parted in shock. You couldn’t help but giggle as you reached to push his hair back, smiling as he stood before you muttering about something about how someone always ruins his moment. The rest of the team was completely oblivious to your interaction and none took any notice when you took Bucky’s hand and pulled him out of the pool. You tossed his towel over his head, ruffling it gently to dry his hair. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Natasha nudging Steve and whispering something in his ear. 

Bucky peeked out from under the towel, a huge smile on his face. “My mother used to do that when I was little” he said. He picked up your towel and draped it around your shoulders, taking a corner of the cloth and using it to gently dry the stray droplets on your cheek. “Y/N? Open your eyes.” You were so caught up in the feeling of Bucky’s touch that you hadn’t even realized that you’d closed your eyes and leaned into his hand. Bucky’s light eyes were just inches from yours and their corners crinkled slightly from the force of his smile. The team had become suspiciously quiet, and you peeked around Bucky’s large frame to see them all staring at you, open-mouthed and clearly in shock. 

“They’re staring aren’t they” Bucky chuckled quietly. You nodded. “I’ve got a plan. Take a step toward me and pretend to slip. I’ll pick you up and run us back into the tower.” You stared at him, wide-eyed.

“Bucky I don’t know if that’s such a goo-” You immediately slipped on the wet ground and Bucky took this as a sign that you were going along with his plan. He lifted you up and started toward the door only to trip over a pool float that Tony had left out. This sent you both toppling back into the water. 

When you surfaced, Bucky was immediately by your side, mumbling apologies and checking to see if you were injured. 

“Well that was painfully awkward and yet frighteningly adorable, don’t you agree?” Tony stated, using his champagne glass to gesture to the team. 

Hey c: Can I request a T'Challa oneshot, where the two of you have been dating for a while and you comfort him after the death of his father. And you tell him that he will be an amazing king, living up to the legacy that his father left behind and how his dad will be immensely proud of him. And it’s just really cute, because he says he wouldn’t want anyone else as his Queen apart from you. Ta c:

Maybe he thought you didn’t realise how every morning, before he set off to discuss the political rights of Wakanda, T’challa would sit at the foot of your shared bed and sob. His cries muffled by his hands.

“… and that’s it.” Steve finishes serious, but with a small smile on his face. “That’s the stupidest plan you’ve ever had.” You break the silence after a few minutes. “Of course I’m in.” “(Y/N), no.” Bucky pleads quietly and shakes his head, but you ignore it. You understand that he wants you safe, but that doesn’t mean that you sit on your ass all day and wait until he’s coming home.

Blood is dripping down your hip and you press your hand on it, trying to hide it from Bucky and the others. “Fuck, are you bleeding?” Tony asks and you close resigned. Immediately Bucky comes to you, checking your body for wounds. A hiss leaves his mouth as he sees the scratch. “It’s fine, baby.” You say, but as you open your eyes your vision is blurred. “Shit…(Y/N), noo.” Bucky shouts. It’s the last thing you hear before you collapse in his arms…

Bucky couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe that Dot was standing in front of him, asking him to come back to her. Of course, he felt for her. After all, Dot had left her seemingly-happy relationship with Loki for a second chance with Bucky. He understood that, and if he could take back every single day since the wedding day, he would. He gladly would.

But he had explained everything to her. He had told her that they were both stuck in the past. He had not let himself immediately run to you, instead taking the time to go back to Dot’s house and cordially break things off.
