YOU ARE THE UNIVERSE (2019)

ES|| Esta soy yo y mi gato imaginario.☀️ Para los que no me conozcáis: Me llamo Anna Valpuesta Farré y soy ilustradora infantil. Nací y vivo en Barcelona y me apasiona crear personajes adorables que solo con mirarlos me saquen una sonrisa. En mis tiempos libres soy una voraz devoradora de libros y siempre llevo una taza o termo de infusión de hierbas en la mano (fresquita en verano y calentita en invierno). Me encanta la naturaleza y los animales, siempre voy mirando los pájaros, las flores y plantas, las abejas y cualquier animalillo que me pase por delante… Me fascina descubrir animales que no sabía que existían en el mundo y tengo una llista mental de animales que sería un sueño ver en directo en su hábitat natural. Por este motivo siempre aparece naturaleza en mis ilustraciones. Ahh! Y me gusta hacer fotos, pero no que me las hagan y creo que esta es la primera vez que hago un autorretrato!! 🌻🐝

EN|| This is me and my imaginary cat.☀️ For those of you who don't know me: My name is Anna Valpuesta Farré and I’m a children's illustrator. I'm from Barcelona and I’m passionate about creating adorable characters that just by looking at them make you smile. In my free time I’m a voracious devourer of books and I always carry a cup or a thermos of herbal tea in my hand (cool in the summer and warm in the winter). I absolutely love nature and animals, I’m always looking at birds, flowers and plants, bees and any little animal that passes by... It fascinates me to discover animals that I didn’t know existed in the world and I have a mental list of animals that It would be a dream come true to see live in its natural habitat. For this reason, nature is always present in my illustrations. Ahh! And I like taking photos, but not being in them. I think this is the first time I've made a self-portrait!! 🌻🐝

SAVE THE BEES (2019)

Bees and other insects are among the main responsible for the pollination, a vital function for biodiversity and for our food (75% of the food we consume depends on pollination) and yet they are disappearing. 40% of invertebrate pollinators, in particular bees and butterflies, face extinction. An example is a North American native bumblebee, the Bombus affinis, which since the late 1990s has reduced its population by 87%. This dangerous and sad decline is due to several causes such as the loss and deterioration of their habitats, parasites and diseases, invasive plant and animal species, the impacts of climate change and the practices of industrialized agriculture, among which the use of pesticides stands out. Let's change our consumption habits! Together we must protect the world and save the bees!🐝

Las abejas entre otros insectos son unas de las principales encargadas de la polinización de las flores, una función vital para la biodiversidad terrestre y para nuestra alimentación, ya que un 75% de los alimentos que consumimos dependen de ello, y sin embargo están desapareciendo. Un 40% de los polinizadores invertebrados, en particular abejas y mariposas, se enfrentan a la extinción. Un ejemplo es el abejorro, nativo de Norteamerica, Bombus affinis que desde finales de los años 90 hasta ahora, ha reducido su población un 87%. Este peligroso y triste declive se debe a varias causas como la pérdida y deterioro de sus hábitats, las prácticas de la agricultura industrializada, como los monocultivos y el uso de plaguicidas, los parásitos y enfermedades, las especies vegetales y animales invasoras y los impactos del cambio climático. Cambiemos nuestros hábitos de consumo! Entre todos debemos proteger el mundo y salvar a las abejas! 🐝🌻

Pink fruits summer || Verano de frutas rosas || Estiu de fruites roses (2019)

ESP || Estos días me siento un poco de bajón, si pudiera me pasaría el día debajo del nórdico hecha un ovillo mirando series... Para estas situaciones no hay nada mejor que una ilustración que te recuerde que cualquier día gris puede salir el sol y formar un precioso arco iris lleno de colores! Y el chocolate… el chocolate lo arregla todo, siempre me comería muchísimo chocolate! 🍫🌈

Vosotros tenéis algún método para convertir los días de bajón en buenos días? Hoy os traigo la tercera ilustración de la serie de refrescos saludables de verano. Después del refresco de limón y el de frutas del bosque, es la hora del de suculenta sandía, fresca menta y deliciosas fresas.🍓🍉 Vaya parece que tanto rosa ha atraído un a gracioso flamenco!

ENG || These days I been feeling a bit down, if I could I would spend the day curled up under the sheets watching series ... For these situations there is nothing better than an illustration that reminds you that the sun can rise at any moment, shine a light on a gray day and form a beautiful rainbow full of colors! Today I bring you the third illustration of the summer healthy sodas series. After the one with the lemon and citrus and the other with fruits of the forest, it is time for sweet watermelon, fresh mint and delicious strawberries to come together.🍓🍉

CAT || Aquests dies em sento una mica depre, si pogués em passaria el dia sota el nòrdic feta un cabdell mirant sèries ... Per a aquestes situacions no hi ha res millor que una il·lustració que et recordi que qualsevol dia gris pot sortir el sol i formar un preciós arc de Sant Martí ple de colors! I la xocolata ... la xocolata ho arregla tot, sempre em menjaria moltíssima xocolata! 🍫🌈Vosaltres teniu algun mètode per convertir els dies tristos endies bons?

Avui us porto la tercera il·lustració de la sèrie de refrescos saludables d'estiu. Després del refresc de llimona i el de fruites del bosc, és l'hora del de síndries suculentes, fresca menta i delicioses maduixes.🍓🍉

EN|| Hi! I don’t usually join art trends, but I love this one, so I made a sketch of my “artist starter pack” against AI. Because human creativity is the only way! 💪🏼✨ My pack includes: 🔹Me working in my pajamas and multiple socks. 🔹A cup of tea and a thermos. Red tea with rooibos and spices in the mornings and often some @yogitea in the afternoons. 🔹My adorable baby fig tree (I love putting seeds in pots and watching them grow). 🔹Lots of books to devour. 🔹Fruits, vegetables and dark chocolate. 🔹My inseparable boots and all the little animals we see together. 🔹iPad for Procreate, MacBook for Illustrator and Photoshop and a worn-out pencil for everything!

ES || Este año ha sido bastante raro, un año de altos y bajos. A diferencia de otros años, pocas ilustraciones con muchos detalles y personajes, de hecho muchas piezas grandes y pequeñas se quedan en el tintero en diferentes partes del proceso, con un poco de suerte antes de que finalice el año podré acabar alguna. En cambio ha sido un año de retratos de animales, de experimentación con acuarelas, panpastels, lápices de colores, gouache y otras técnicas tradicionales, pero también con illustrator y procreate. A pesar de todo, una cosa continua siendo igual, mucha naturaleza por todos lados!🌿 EN || This year has been quite rare, a year of ups and downs. Unlike other years, I’ve done few illustrations with many details and characters, in fact many large and small pieces still remain in different parts of the process, hopefully before the end of the year I will be able to finish some of them. Instead it has been a year of animal portraits, experimentation with watercolors, panpastels, colored pencils, gouache and other traditional techniques, but also with illustrator and procreate. In spite of everything, one thing remains the same, a lot of nature everywhere!🌿

EN|| I’m so excited to share another one of the pieces that will be in @gallerynucleus Power In Numbers 7 collective exhibition alongside a ton of amazing artists! This time is a little snail loving her life surrounded by bees and pomegranades! In this close up you can see next to the illustration the color tests I did while I was painting. 🐌♥️ All the postcards are 5”x7” and made using gouache, watercolor, neocolors, polychromos and watercolor pencils. The show will debut in person only and is cash and carry, meaning once a piece is purchased the buyer takes it home with them rather than be on display the duration of the entire show. The earlier people come, the more they can see! Opening reception is September 3rd 5:00PM - 8:00PM in Alhambra, CA. You can find more information about the event in the gallery’s web. ES|| ¡Estoy súper emocionada de compartir otra de las piezas que estarán en la exposición colectiva “Power In Numbers 7” en @gallerynucleus junto a un montón de artistas más! ¡Esta vez se trata de un pequeño caracol que ama su vida rodeado de abejas y granadas! En este primer plano podéis ver junto a la ilustración las pruebas de color que hice mientras pintaba. 🐌♥️ Todas las postales hacen 5”x7” (12.7 x 17.78 cm) y están realizadas con gouache, acuarela, neocolores, polychromos y lápices acuarelables. El espectáculo debutará solo en persona y es “cash and carry”, lo que significa que una vez que alguien compra una pieza, el comprador se la lleva a casa en lugar de estar en la exhibición toda su duración. ¡Cuanto antes vayáis, más piezas podréis ver!
