The night creeps in, cold but not unforgiving. Not with Simon laid under you, his body giving off enough heat to chase the chill away. You’re splayed over his torso, ear pressed to his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. 

Meeting him, having him love you, it felt like a miracle. If things in your life had gone differently, would the two of you even have crossed paths? Would you have gotten the chance to be pressed against him like this, body sore in the best way from being ravished so thoroughly. Would your left hand have the ring he gave you on it?

You push yourself up, leaning over him a bit. His dark eyes flit open, finding you immediately. 

“You alright?” He asks, voice thick with interrupted sleep. 

You frown to yourself, reaching out to lightly run your fingers over his face. He hums softly, eyes closing a bit as he lets himself enjoy your touch. His lips part, just slightly, when you brush over them, before he catches your fingertips in the quickest of kisses. 

"Do you think we find and fall in love with each other in every universe?" 

The question jolts him awake, eyebrows rising as he peers at you in the darkness. 

"I don't know," He admits. "I've never thought about things like that." 

Such a Simon thing to say. It honestly didn’t surprise you that much that he’d never put any time into these kinds of thought experiments. But you were curious, and maybe a bit insecure, so you decide to press on with it anyway. 

“Can you try to think about it?”

“Alright, alright.” 

When Senku gets older — not old persay, maybe 30 or so — he lets his hair sit down. Brushes it back, making it look like Byakuya's did, only green at the ends instead of grey. He denies it to everyone, and of course there's no way to prove it's the same; there's no photographic evidence that Byakuya even existed.

And maybe that's why he does it. His way to let him live on in the new world as something more than a village founder, even though not a shred of dna remains.

The Quiet Duo

Ukyo has sensitive ears, so being around a lot of loud people can give him a headache

So, though it takes some getting used to, he likes that she's so quiet

He's the only one she can't sneak up on

She teaches him sign language so they can communicate easily without words

He's been called out on speaking both verbally and in sign language at the same time after being taught by Willow

Ukyo doesn't mind that she hides her face, though he'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious as to what she looked like under the mask

But he'd never force it

The Unhinged When They Want To Be Duo

Senku learned sign language for fun in the old world but rarely got to use it before she came along

Is definitely curious about the mask, and wants to see what's behind it

Carefully (and poorly) made a replacement mask when Willow's broke early on

Laughs when she gets sassy with someone in sign because most times no one but him can understand it

She has to tap morse code at him sometimes (when he's not paying attention to her hands)

Honestly likes that he can talk mostly un-interrupted with her

Will yap at her in sign language in front of everyone else

Lillian Weinberg, I don't see much angst about her or the other astronaut. I see some of Byakuya but the angst potential in the others, so we know she roughly 25 or so. Say she met someone else who when she was a kid childhood lover and before leaving she made a promise to them they get married when she came back from space. But the petrification happen, they wake up during the American arc and is with Chelsea when the Senku group found them and found out about the Villar origin? The one person you wanted to see again is gone, and all you have is her descendants.

Cause here's the thing right. It's not that she's gone. It's not even that she ended up loving another man after swearing to marry you when she got back from space.

It's that after 3700 years, she's still around.

You see it in Kohaku, when you meet her in America. Eventually, you see it in Ruri, and a few other villagers who share bits of her. You hear her voice on the record, and there are so many people who knew who she was that they can talk about her casually.

And it hurts

So badly

But what can you do about it? What's happened has happened, and there was no turning back the clock.

No second chance of loving her again.

In a world of soulmates, you're only ever told that when you find The One, you'll know. But they never tell you exactly how, because for everyone, it's different.

Simon goes through his life feeling the same about everyone he meets. No one gives him any weird butterflies or epiphanies, nor does he feel especially drawn to any one person.

He has friends and coworkers, and plenty of pretty women who bat their eyelashes in hopes that he was their fated partner. But never once had he really...cared. So when you come into the picture, he has no idea what the fuck is wrong with him.

Looking at you makes his chest feel heavy, touching you makes his skin itch, and being apart from you makes him feel like he's dying.

Your smile lights him on fire, your voice the only one that can pull him from any and every thought. All he wants to do is keep you.

When he asks Price about it, because he has no one else to trust, he gets an odd look, then a slow smile. Then his captain pats him on the shoulder, and gives him a fond congratulations.

It still takes him almost five years to accept you for what you are to him.

The realization I had that since the American colony is somewhere in Northern California they might have access to wild-growing cannabis plants

UPDATE: Did not cry over Senku, but Stanley is definitely crashing out over my oc and I am living for it
