A/N: This is my first attempt at writing for this fandom, but I’m so excited!! I really loved the movies upon rewatching them, even more than I remembered, and after finally watching the third one, I was already missing the characters, so I wanted to write a little something! Enjoy!

Hiccup Haddock x Gender Neutral Reader

Being a newcomer in Berk wasn’t easy. You were in an uncharted land filled with strangers with different customs and with something far more worrying than just different traditions… They had dragons.

You were wandering around the forest, trying to put some order in your thoughts. Things would be okay, you just needed to get used to that place and for that you needed time. The people seemed friendly enough, even if a bit strange. As long as you stayed away from the dragons, everything would turn out alright.

“Oh, hey!” A voice startled you, making you look up when you reached a clearing. “Hi, Y/N!”

“H-Hi” It was Hiccup, one of the few people you got along with so far. He was a sweet boy, but his dragon was the most ferocious looking one out of them all.

“look what i’ve got.”

nathan has a bottle of wine in hand. he smiles proudly and raises the bottle to present it to you, piquing your interest. he saunters over to where you sit at the kitchen island.

“a smooth red, aged and imported.”

“sounds expensive.”

“it is expensive.”

nathan grabs two wine glasses from his hanging glass rack. he skillfully flips them over, one handed, and sets them down on the island. you cross your arms and rest them on the island, leaning forward. you watch your boyfriend as he pours you a glass of wine.

“how’d you get it?”

“from work.”

“you mean the bar? or your side hustle?”

“what’s my side hustle?”

“scavenger hunting.”

your lips curl into a smirk. nathan hands you the glass with a lighthearted shake of his head.

“treasure hunting.”

“i know, i know. i’m kidding. did you get the wine from one of your… expeditions?”

nathan pours a glass for himself.

“nah, but that would’ve been cool. i snuck it from the bar during my last shift.”

“you don’t think they’ll miss it?”

nathan leans in closer to you.

“they’ll never know it’s gone.”

he clinks his glass with yours and sips from it. you swish the wine around before you taste it.

“damn, nate. you’re the best pickpocket in all of new york.”

“bold statement, babydoll.”

“and a true one, too. you are.”

nathan’s gaze trails down to your lips.

“aren’t i?”

he tilts his head to connect your lips. you hum into the kiss. his hand comes to the back of your neck and holds you in place, and you put down your wine so it doesn’t spill. it’s a kiss full of love and want and need.

“come sit with me.”

nate takes your chin between his fingers.

“okay.”

he pecks your lips. he grabs his wine glass by its stem and walks around to the other side of the island, sitting on the empty stool beside you. you swing your legs over so you’re facing him. nate shoots you that ever so charming smile of his, his eyes somehow shining in the dimmed light of his stylish apartment.

“do you miss the city when you’re gone? y’know, looking for treasure?”

you drink your wine while you await nate’s answer.

“yeah, all the time. it’s home. because you’re here, and you’re my home.”

“aw, nate.”

you squeeze one of his buff arms.

“you should come with sometime.”

“i dunno. i don’t think your mean friend with the cat would approve.”

“who, sully?”

“yeah, him. does he bring his cat every time you guys go looking?”

“pretty much. who’d have thought he’d have such a soft spot for the little guy? but seriously, you’d be a much better companion than sully.”

you tangle your sock clad feet with nathan’s, a half smile adorning your lips.

“your brother loved to explore, right? so you’re finishing what he started? i admire that, how you honor his legacy.“

“thanks, baby. i owe it to him. gotta do the drake name proud.”

“you will, and you do.”

nathan presses a kiss to your temple. you finish the rest of your wine, so he reaches for the bottle to pour you more.

“wait, wait, wait. you said the wine’s expensive. shouldn’t we, like, savor it?”

nate pours you another glass regardless, then tops off his own. he winks.

“don’t worry about it. i could always get us another.”

all your stuffed animals love you. they're not sad if they're in a box, or on the floor, or not held/played with as much. they understand. they know that you might need another stuffie more, or that you don't have enough space. they're just happy to be with you, and if you ever give them away, they'll be happy there too. stuffies are for comfort. they understand. they love you too. it's okay.

The first time, you were sitting on the couch at Monica and Rachel’s silently nibbling on some chips while the others were bickering in the back.

“Hey, you good?”

You turned to face Joey and smiled softly as you nodded your head.

“Yeah, just bored. Chip?”

Tilting the bag toward him you gave it a little shake with a grin on your face.

“Hell yeah!”

Joey shuffled closer to you, sharing the bag of chips with you as you guys ignored what was going on in the background.

They second time you just sat down at the coffeehouse, Gunter brought over your sandwich and coffee and sat it down in front of you.

“Thanks.”

“No problem.”

He walked away and you watched Joey shuffle his way over.

“Is that.. two sandwiches…?” He asked.

“Sit Joe.”

He grinned and sat in front of you, taking one of the sandwiches to eat. You didn’t like eating in public alone, this was was perfect for you. And Joey was always hungry so it was perfect for him.

The third time you just happened to be passing him in the hallway as you were going to see Chandler.

“Hey Joey, try these chocolates.”

“Ooo okay!”

He took one and you watched his face go from confusion to happiness.

“Woah! They’re so good what are they?”

“I have no idea, my mom sent me them.” You laughed.

He took another couple from the pack before he went to go walk away.

“Wait here!”

You handed him the pack and smiled.

“I’ve got more at home.”

“Yes you’re the best!”

With that Joey kissed your cheek and wondered back into his apartment.

The fourth time was you simply couldn’t finish your pizza.

You weren’t feeling well so you closed the lid and handed it over to him.

“Finished already?” He asked.

“Yeah, I’m not feeling great…” you mumbled.

“Oh, do you need anything?”

“No… I’m just gonna crash on the couch…”

He grabbed you a pillow from his room and covered you up with his quilt.

This time he didn’t accept your food, he set it on the side, but took one slice from it.

“I’ll be back.”

He left, but again took another slice.

A few months later, and you were wondering Monicas and Rachel’s apartment, you were hungry and couldn’t find anything interesting.

“Come on (Y/N), dinners gonna be ready soon.” Ross laughed.

“I’m hungry!”

“Well hi hungry, I’m Chandler.”

You glared at him slightly and he laughed a little.

The door open and closed and Joey came wondering in eating a grilled sandwich.

“Ooo what’s that?” You asked.

“Cheese, ham, turkey, chicken, others things I can’t remember.”

You nodded your head alone and he came over, holding it out to you.

“Want some.”

You shrugged, taking a bite and the whole room went quiet.

“What?” You and Joey asked at the same time.

“Joey never shares his food with anyone.” Rachel said.

“Yeah, he tackled me off a chair once just for eating his meatball sandwich.” Chandler said.

You flicked you eyes towards Joey before shrugged slightly and he did the same.

“I don’t know what you mean, I share with you guys.” He said.

“Yeah, he shares.”

Everyone started protesting at this and you and Joey just laughed.

“Want another bit?”

“Ooo yes please!”

“Seriously!” Ross yelled
