Guys, I need your opinion.

Looking around I see lots of beautiful highpoly* cc, and seems like people really enjoy it. In the meantime creating smth I spend 70% of time to make lowpoly versions of my highpoly meshes. And as an inevitable result my stuff is quite handy for playing the game, but looks not so nice as it actually could.

* - for those of you who is far from all that technical details. Highpoly meshes increases the load on your graphics card and other resources of your PC/laptop. If there are lots of highpoly content on your current lot [ including your sims and what they’re wearing ], you may encounter certain troubles, such as different graphics anomalies, lags, crashes, game or even operating system freezes and so on. However, many people have quite powerful computers nowadays, so they don’t experience any listed problems, if they’re not turning their TS4 game into 3D rendering show with extremely highpoly cc [ my favorite example was a small cake of 215k polys, and even that cake is used by lots of ppl, at least I often see it on various screenshots ].

So saying “highpoly” I do not mean decor objects of 100-200k polys, of course, or a simple clothes of > 50k polys. But since my own PC is quite perfomant, I’m fine with the furniture of 10-20k polys, detailed cars [ 90-150k polys ] and cas stuff up to 150k polys [ for some very complicated outfits or hairstyles, not for ordinary shirts or simple dresses ].  

Now to the textures. Usually I either link textures for smaller file sizes of the packages without quality loss [ storage space on your hdd/ssd is not endless, you know ]  or use 1024 size. But I can make them larger so your close-up screenshots would look much more glamorous, regardless of file size, but in less number of swatches [ otherwise there would be sets of 600-800 Mb each ].

So. The question is simple - maybe my efforts to reduce polycount and keep average file sizes is just a waste of time and no one actually need that?

Hi everyone, today I’ve paintings in my luggage.  🤩  Starting with a selection of Olivier Tramoni paintings: “Bouquet d'Orchidees Rouges I & II”, “Hauteurs Florales I & II”, “Suspendu” and “Camaieu”.  In the last two, you could think of the title, that they do not belong together. But I think, visually they are a set and therefore treated them as such. I love his creations. 😍

It is just one object with 6 different swatches. Oh, and the Mesh is mine. Feel free to recolor it but without including the mesh, please link to this page here or to the direct DOWNLOAD link.  Thank you. 🧡

Hm, I know today is not Valentines Day but I don't want to wait until february to share these today finished files with you. Hope you like it. 😊

This set comes in 14 swatches. Excuse me for not making the mats in 10,000 different colors. I would lose patience about it. 🤭    I have chosen only for my taste these colors that fit the heart and that I myself would use in the game. 😚  But please feel free to create colors that you like. But please do not stand alone recolors. It's not about the meshes, these are just square planes. However, image processing costs me love, patience and time. Every single heart is hand-drawn and unique. The irregular shapes are so intentional. That's why I want this to be respected, with credit and mesh linked. Thank you. 💗

I personallity hate adfly because it causes problems so often, trying to install some crap or paralyzing the whole pc. If I want to download something and adfly & co. makes problems, I close the page again and prefer to do without the beautiful CC. It just annoys me! And views doesn't really haves to do anything with downloads. I also give hearts here when I like something, but I don't need it, just to appreciate the work . Only the actual DL-Count brings the truth.

Simfileshare shows download numbers really wrong. For one of my downloads simfileshare shows 405 views but adfly shows 1200 views. Then I checked other links and all of them are wrong

Hi there! SFS doesn’t count views but does count downloads, so you probably will have some people who view your file but don’t actually download it. Beyond that, though, nothing about adf.ly is reliable, so I’d strongly suspect that their numbers are the ones that are wrong!

The risks of Adfly, Shorte, etc

DISCLAIMER: I do not condone bullying in any shape of form of the creator in question / other creators (that use adlfy) / myself or anyone that responds to this post! All very immature/hateful/hurtful remarks that do not carry on to the conversation will be removed and depending on the severity (threatening someone, etc) of those remarks… I will block you as well. I made this video and post for anyone that uses Adfly/Short.e to shed some light on this returning discussion and most importantly; the alternatives. 

After very careful consideration of all the risks I'm taking by making this post I felt a bit obligated to the community, as a fellow creator that also monetizes her CC, to take a stand on this. I will accept any fall out regarding this post. before we continue I’d like to express my gratitude to a group of people who helped me out in lots of ways! <333 English is not my first language so their help has been highly appreciated! I could not silently stand by anymore while children, grown ups, friends… everyone actually risks to pay lots of money to save their PC’s from destruction for $0,02485 dollars. Per click. I did the math in the highest payout rate, USA. I made a short video to demonstrate what happened when I clicked on Adfly / short.e links. Best to be watched on Desktop / iPad / bigger screens than phone.

Important to know

I'm on an iMac. This makes it sooo much less bad for me than Windows Users. Also the only reason why I was able to do this without risking my computer. OS X pretty much has an build-in ironclad protection to files shown in the video. 

Most of the people in this community are on a PC which makes them so much more vulnerable to all the shit that auto downloads and in some cases installs itself, without you having any say in it, as you can see.

As you can see in the vid; I did not click on the files that started downloading themselves. Know that Windows users are even more at risk(!) since these files (virus exe) can start installing themselves on their own. I have to give my iMac a password to install ANY software. That’s why I wasn’t at risk during the demo’s.

I have to admit that the demo’s in the vid are DEFINITELY not worst case scenarios! Please be mindful of that! I freed up a lot of desktop space as you can see for the endless pop-up ads to appear which ‘unfortunately’ did not occur this time around. In lots cases I get lost in an endless loop of shortners (never arriving at the promised directory) or a massive amounts of pop ups open forcing me to close the shortner window altogether. I cannot even comprehend how much worse it is for Windows users!

Just don't click on the ads! Only stupid / too young / non tech-savvy /old people click on them. If you don’t click on them it’s OK. So it’s a non issue.

These are literal comments I’ve seen recently and in the past regarding this topic. THIS IS NOT TRUE! as you can see I did not click on ANY of the ads unless they required to be closed through the ad ‘close’ section to make sure the timer continues to run. Through the years of development for these ads; most of them require you to click ‘close’ (engage with them) before the countdown of Adfly/Short.e continues to run again. How am I supposed to get to your content if i can't click ‘close’ then?! 

Also; the extra tabs that open need to be closed first before the timer starts running again. And when you close them they can auto download a file you didn’t clicked on. In the past they were less aggressive I agree. You could “safely” wait out those 5 sec and get to the designated URL of the CC. In most cases this isn’t an option anymore.

Regarding this post: I’ve said everything I wanted to say about this topic. I will not engage in endless discussions in the comments. tbh I might not even engage at all since I don’t have anything more/new to say about this.

How the hell am I supposed to get something in return for all that hard work I put into my CC then ?!

Alternative left-end Counter (HomeChefHustle)

I really, really love this new Home Chef Hustle Kitchen, but then... for what they create a slimmer dishwasher, when we can't place it under a slimmer counter? So I've made a clone from the left end, made it just a tiny bit narrower so that the end was flush with the dishwasher, replacing a center counter and deleting all other models. So it's just the left end, but placed as the middle one. So if you want to place it, you would have to choose the middle part.

I also wanted to make a Dishwasher clone for the right side, but the counter isn't cut out and my skills aren't great enough to know how to fix that.

But that's how it works for small kitchens and I'm happy.

I think you can certainly do something with it too. ☺️

I always get nervous when s4s updates for a new pack because this community kinda scare the hell out of me. Im scared me and other creator will have the same idea and post the same cc at the same time and then the less famous one will be INVADED by angry anons until they take the piece down. I hope we could just stop that and just let people make cc. It's fun. It feels like playing with clay and sometimes it's even more fun than playing the actual game. It's pretty, it's cool to create something and to get likes and cute comments for it bc it feels good when people like your little things. Let's just have fun this time so no one will feel like rushing their fun time.
