My fall break has officially begun!

Four weeks from today the semester ends. It's going so fast! And I still have so much to do!

My cultural anthropology professor approved my survey and interview questions today!

I can officially start my research for the honors project!

I'm so excited! It's a step closer to being an actual anthropologist 😍

I have not been home for a holiday in over 3 years.

I currently live in sunny California where it is like 75-90 degrees all the dang time.

But today, the last day of my trip home, IT SNOWED! I have not seen snow in 3 YEARS! I am so dang happy right now!

Desk layout...even though it won't stay like this for long!

No class on Fridays! But I still have a lot of work to do today. Chapters to read and essays to write.

But first, I'm going to ease into it with my current fun read: The Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert. Accompanying me is my baby girl Dill and a chai coffee in my awesome Lord of the Flies mug.

Today I submitted my project proposal for my Anthropology ethnography.

It wasn't what I wanted to do originally, but I am still looking forward to taking this extra little step.

My Cultural Anthropology Professor shared this with our class today, so I thought I would share with you guys.

We were talking about silent language today and how some gestures we (Americans) used may not be carried out in the same context in other countries.

Today I went to a Viking Festival!

And I got some goodies!

From top to bottom:

And I got a bunch of information on Norwegian naming practices and some geneology sheets and websites!
