Succession is a riveting show about business and politics but it's actually about intergenerational trauma and the cycle of abuse but it's actually actually about an insane closeted gay man falling in love with his wife's socially awkward cousin
McGregor says that every time he crossed paths with Boyle during their decade apart, it was like “meeting an old lover or something. Ultimately, it was nice to see him, always.”
It was McGregor who first offered an olive branch in 2009, when Danny Boyle was having the best year of his career thanks to the juggernaut that was Slumdog Millionaire. “Someone asked him to present an award to me,” Boyle tells Norton, “and he did it, and made this amazing speech. And I was in tears backstage.” As part of that speech, McGregor gave a nod to their long separation: “He pushes you to find more depth and truth. I felt safe in his hands. I’m in awe of your bravery. Making a movie about junkies in Edinburgh was not an easy choice… I love you and miss you.”

growing up being told you’re mature for your age because you are kind and curious by nature and then being left behind constantly and having your needs neglected because of this assumption of maturity and issues within the family and growing up just with this idea that you are beyond the need for nurturing and attention from adults and you don’t need care because in your mind it’s useless and then having this soul crushing guilt and sense of inadequacy when you inevitably crave this seemingly meaningless care that you really truly need
Artists who’ve gotten used to twitter are afraid tumblr won’t be as useful to them if they jump ship, but here’s the thing: twitter is only built for instant short-term gratification, and it severely limits what you can share anyway. You can only post one short paragraph and up to four images that get compressed to death, then at best get a burst of viral attention that lasts a day or two before their algorithm buries it forever and it’s forgotten immediately. On tumblr you can post a whole original article, story or multi-page comic. If you want it to get attention you just tag it every relevant thing you can think of and it stays pretty visible in those tags forever and ever. People interested in said tags follow them or routinely search them, scroll through and will see what you made even years later. Without an algorithm automatically flooding your dash with nonsense and without a “trending news” feature, it’s also practically effortless here on tumblr to avoid things you don’t want to see. If you don’t like a political topic, you just don’t search for it or follow people who post about it and you’re already significantly less likely to see it, just like that. If you really miss algorithmic content, tumblr mobile now has the “for you” section and has always had “based on your likes” options. This is absolutely the most comfortable and useful website for creators to network on as long as you understand its advantages!
lily evans, who everyone piles the highest expectations upon, and barty crouch jr, who everyone expects the absolute least from. lily, who is made out to be the model of this perfect daughter, perfect student, perfect friend, and barty, who is seen as this sort of caricature of a failure by everyone, even his own father. lily, who does not know how to deal with these pressures, and barty, who has his own twisted set of them that work in the other direction. they're two people who no one else actually sees as people, except the other. with the other, they can ditch all these stereotypes and pressures and expectations, and just be real-life humans.
В вас есть сквозняк, а ещё -- бесконечное море;
