finally found my guts to post one of my scribbles
Or alternatively, compilation of gofushi hints with some commentaries.
Notes before reading:
1. As always, these are just interpretations from my point of view.
2. Contains spoilers up until chapter 173 of the manga.
3. The fleshing out of this post was done while listening to Sasanomaly's "Sora to Utsuro" song set on loop. The title could be translated as "Sky and Void" (!) but both words are closer to the definition of [vanitas] because the kanji characters for [sora] and [utsuro] have similar meanings. Yeah, it's a poetic title. The song has a charming and chill vibe with a slight (lol slight-) sprinkle of nostalgia. Its lyrics were used for the edits and I recommend listening to this song while reading.
4. Translation source of the song from here! They make more sense >_<
5. Due to the 10 picture limit per post, this is split in parts.
Is this just a teacher asking his student what they should do with someone's life
My take on it is that even though Yuuji has to be executed, Satoru recognizes that there is potential in him and Sukuna's vessel could be a strong ally that Satoru can recruit for his goal. Problem is he doesn't know if Yuuji is a dependable person, after all, he just met him. Thus he turns to Megumi because he has interacted with Yuuji more than him. Although to place his decision on saving or executing Yuuji on Megumi is kind of... they are talking about a life here!
Satoru isn't asking Megumi as just his teacher, he is asking him on a personal level. He has known him for 9 years already, is looking for his view on the situation, and trusts Megumi's judgement on people.
Is this what you truly feel from the bottom of your heart?
Official manga translation turns 私情 into personal opinion although it should be personal feelings or self-interest. Opinion has a rational connotation and it is inconsistent when Megumi told Yuuji that he didn't have a special reason for saving him, it wasn't a logical thought, it was a selfish decision that originated from his personal view on what makes a good person.
Following on my previous topic, if Satoru was looking for Megumi's view on Yuuji's person, an answer that comes from Megumi's personal feelings would be ideal. Which is why he asks: "... personal feelings?"
I think that to be able to talk about your inner reasons with someone requires a degree of intimacy and familiarity with them, especially if they are a person whom you have a difficult request for.
Why is it that when it's just the two of them, it is so.. deep? personal? @_@
I'm disappointed that the translation didn't mirror the pause Satoru does before asking which narratively makes it look like an important question.
A lesson that gave Megumi the base for him to break out of his mentality.
This is the moment where I think Megumi truly became a jujutsushi. Because he finally acquired a sense of self which is what I believe is important to bring a sorcerer's innate domain into reality. Drawing from another person's post about how Megumi and Satoru's relationship is more than just student-teacher and Megumi who has been entrusted a different goal than the rest from Satoru-
gofushi thread advertising: please read it. It's so good >_< it says how Megumi recognizes Gojou as not just a teacher or just the strongest sorcerer, he recognizes that Gojou is a human. I- *playing Vanitas s1 ending too*
-they said that his lesson on the value of death is not from Satoru's teacher persona, it was from his human persona.
The fact that Satoru was able to read Megumi, teach him an important lesson, and for Megumi to listen to it and grow as a jujutsushi makes me emotional. They have a profound relationship.

I still wonder why it had to be Satoru and Megumi helping the kid get home. Why do you need two people to do that. Well, more time alone for them to appreciate the sunset.
By the way, I thought this wasn't true, but maybe Satoru was right all along? When Megumi is forced to go beyond his limit in fights (first time doing DE or dropping max elephant on Reggie), he looks thrilled. Does he enjoy fighting sometimes? If so then Satoru's mind reading was spot on LOL
Even though he left Megumi behind, he will go back to him...
Because he says "for example", does that mean there are other instances where he noticed Megumi's attitude? The bunt must have been shocking.
They have known each other for nine years yet there are few moments between them during that time... uugh
Funny how the only time we get to see Gojou having friendly physical contact with Megumi is through Yuuji's eyes (because flicking his forehead with enough force that would make him bleed doesn't count as friendly lolol).
I think he recognizes that their relationship is more than just teacher and student. Maybe theyre hiding more gofushi behind the scenes... they are definitely doing that.

- Infinite Void: it overwhelms the target's senses with information
- Chimera Shadow Garden: it drags the target down into a shadow where nothing exists
Even though one is everything and the other is nothing, both have the same effect on the opponent. Satoru once talked about how when two domain expansions are used, the compatibility between them plays a factor in the tug of war. If there ever comes a time where both of their DEs are used at the same time, I would like to see what happens. CSG could be a viable counter to 6E.
I think this plays even more parallels between how Megumi and Satoru are similar reminiscent of the reddit post that analyzed their names and the symbology of the cover design for JJK Key Animation Vol. 2

In the case of Satoru, he is directly the next inheritor of 6E+L.
Could it be reincarnation? Will fate repeat itself making Satoru and Megumi fight against each other?
Since fate plays a theme in the series. Reggie also cursed Megumi by telling him to be toyed by fate.
In fact, the 6E+L user is now raising the 10S user to be strong enough to stand by his side. They are on the same team. It is completely different than before.
He was able to override the deal and his presence was enough to deter the Zen'ins from making Megumi the next clan leader.
During chapter 145, Tengen's explaining to them how Satoru destroyed almost all the options that can release him from the box. Annoyed, Megumi addresses him here as あの人 or 'that person' which... can be used to refer to your spouse or partner too (it is also a rude way to call someone lolol)
Btw, anyone into the theory that Megumi became Satoru's fiancé to break the Zen'in deal? The way Megumi told Kamo that he no longer has any ties to the Zen'in left me thinking, although not in that way (makes sense since I wasn't shipping them haha... yet-).
It's becoming sussy at this point. Satoru be like 付き合い (tsukiai), Megumi be like あの人 (anohito)...
Even if it's obvious for someone with context on the situation and the moron's possible identity, Megumi had to chime in with that. Gotta defend your husband after all.
Yuuji didn't know where Satoru was, but Megumi did because he sees his husband off.
It could be just a coincidence but a few months later, Megumi knows when Satoru will be returning.
Knowing Satoru's schedule displays how close their relationship is and that they communicate with each other frequently.

Rushed this at 3am so there's a lot of mistakes...
I tried again. My attempt at gofushi
They say couples start to become like each other the longer they spend time together…
Or maybe they think in the same way, either explanation can coexist.
Both go maniac and out of character when they get a breakthrough in their powers.
“Things like that”
What other things did Megumi witness? For a newcomer into the series, episode 3 is able to showcase how familiar Megumi is to Satoru’s antics.
I’m wondering if Satoru ordered a custom made uniform for Megumi too. Is this why the current one looks normal, because Megumi had to request another one himself?
Someone once said how Megumi’s uniform rarely got ripped apart or broken (at most, some fraying at the ends) and theorized that it must have been Satoru’s doing lolol requesting an unbreakable uniform so no one gets to see Megumi’s skin.
Left phone (black) is Satoru’s. Right phone (white) is Megumi’s
I think this might be an intentional choice by design. If we compare the main cast phones, Nobara and Yuuji have unique models, but Satoru and Megumi have the same one.
Ayo did they buy the phones together? Or did Satoru think of Megumi and decided to buy matching phones for them.
If he took Megumi’s photos, how long does he keep them? Are there folders of Megupics in that phone??
and that took a long time. Could it have been for a mission? Satoru probably wanted to have fun and left all the hard work to Megumi lol. But it didn’t seem that way, since he compared the situation to Nobara’s shopping -> a casual outing.
gofushi date…
