Some Slightly Less Abstract Art. Still Trying To Push Myself To Be Comfortable Posting More Sketchy Art.

A loose green and black sketch of a cat-like creature laying down. A green cross-shaped star glows from the creature’s forehead.

Some slightly less abstract art. Still trying to push myself to be comfortable posting more sketchy art.

Finally set up my adoptable shop on DeviantArt. The above characters are all still on sale as of March 5, 2018 (and likely will stay that way for a while considering the adoptables market). My DA account can be viewed by clicking here.

A reference drawing of my interpretation of the cyborg character Murderbot.

It has very dark brown skin and darker hair and a lean muscular build. While most of its body is covered in skin, a few parts, mostly its neck, abdomen, back of head, and spine, and energy projectiles on its arms are covered in black metal.

Its joints, the seems on its face, and the sclera of its eyes change color based on the danger level of the situation it is in. Technically the danger level is an indicator of how much danger Murderbot thinks those it is concerned with are in. The colors go from turquoise to green to black to bright red, with turquoise being high safety (something the company did not expect any of their secunits to be involved in) and bright red being extreme danger. The most commonly expressed colors are green to medium red.

One of the full body drawings shows Murderbot with buzzed short hair, unclothed, and dark red eyes, seams, and joints. In the other full body image, Murderbot is slightly shorter with slightly longer, shaggy hair and turquoise eyes, seams, and joints. It is wearing medium blue jeans, dark gray boots, a black shirt, and a dark blue hoodie. The hoodie has a pattern of lines and dots that shimmer in the light. On the sides of the sleeves are MURDERBOT written in Morse code in matte black.

On its lower abdomen, back of its head, and the upper left side of its back are triangular company logos. The logo on its back is a mix of hyperpigmentation, blood vessels, and simple computer chips. It pulses with light and color when Murderbot is online. Also on the back of its neck is a circular data port.

Murderbot’s expressions are also shown including, happiness, calmness, neutral/hiding emotions, anger, and sadness/anxiety. Its hair sticks up during strong emotions.

It has claws on its hands that are technically retractable and long fangs, both made of black metal.

Welp, here be my interpretation of Murderbot.

Thank you to @tindoiimu for input on the inorganic colors, @nerdwingblogs for giving me the idea that it changes colors (I get choice paralysis when it comes to color schemes), and both of them plus @tytoalbias for encouraging me to let my furriness bleed into its design.

Some extra bits of info

It starts out at 7 feet tall. Is later 6 feet and 11.2 inches tall

Its skin tone is based on the Subterranean cover for Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory (Book 4.5).

The skin and muscles on its head act similar to those on its back, and since the company did not intend its security units to have hair longer than a buzz cut, its head hair reacts the same as the finer hairs on the rest of its body

I’m explaining away the claws and fangs as the company trying to make their secunits more intimidating, but the real world reason is I keep calling Murderbot a cat with anxiety and just decided to run with it.

If you wanna see what I imagine is inside it click here.

Photo of a package of three astronaut-shaped lip gloss/oil keychains.
Photo of two of the astronaut keychains painted gray to resemble Murderbot in secunit armor. The one on the left is darker with the C-shaped logo of The Company from the Murderbot TV show on the faceplate. The one on the right is lighter with red accents.

For once me procrastinating on something has worked out in my favor.

Decided to make multiple versions, each based to varying degrees on the official illustrations, the TV show design, and my own headcanons. Now I just have to figure out where I put the third one and decide what to do with it.

And yes, the lip oil is still in there.

[Image Description: A digital portrait of a light brown lion cub. This lion cub is a young Zira from The Lion King 2. End of Description]

A quick little drawing I did yesterday of cub Zira. I’ve decided to dive back into the fandom after dipping out shortly before The Lion Guard aired. The landscape of the fandom (and fandoms in general) has changed quite a bit since the mid 2010s, and I like what I see.

Also decided to play around with going with my own style over sticking to the Disney’s. The above eye shape I’ve switched to spots and made the ears vertical to better match real lions. I’m still tweaking how I want the ears, but otherwise, I’m happy with this one.

Reference drawing on a fat humanoid dog. She is mostly white with gray and red hair, tail, and spots on her back. She wears round glasses and a blue flowy blouse and ruffled shorts. The image also displays the following info about her:

Name: Flora Monroe
Pronouns: She/Her
Species: 1/8 Gray Wolf, 7/8 Dog
Occupation: Librarian
Birth Year: 1998
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight

Yet another gal to fill out the furry universe Matonne inhabits. Hopefully I can get these out quicker and then start doing some real art with all these guys.

Two drawings of a light skinned, skinny person. She has a brown beard and tied-back hair and glasses and is dressed androgynously. The first drawing is of her from behind and the waist up, looking back at the viewer. The second is of her in full, holding a book with one hand and a rose up to her face with the other.

My friend @arrowawsome has been playing the Sims 4 and been keeping me updated on the goings on of its virtual neighborhoods. Of course, I feel in love with its space-loving romantic bi-gender bookworm sim and just had to draw him.

The character’s name is Eevee Zelda and has the pronouns she/him.

A drawing of a bat-winged cat flying. She is white with sparkly flame-colored wings, feet, and ears. The background is made of blue squiggly shapes.
Similar to the previous image, except the line-art is colored. A drawing of a bat-winged cat flying. She is white with sparkly flame-colored wings, feet, and ears. The background is made of blue squiggly shapes.

Another ArtFight attack, this time friendly fire upon HazelSkye. I love me some galaxy print (or at least a gradient with sparkles) so as soon I saw this little cat-bat, I had to draw her. Brings me back to my days as a teen designing galaxy patterned kitties.
