I just read all of your art tutorials and they seem super helpful! I was wondering if you had any advice on how to draw clothing?
Yeah! here are some tips on drawing fabric and clothing that I sent to a friend a while back:
Hope that’s helpful. Thank you so much, @yosugayhomomura !
can you show us your painting steps?
I start with a base of sketchy lines (on grey so i can see the lines better)
2. Then I put down a base skin tones
3. From there I create a new layer and start adding shadows/highlights/other tones (i call them roughs)
4. I add some overlay/soft light layers to help me figure out the mood (I change this A LOT)
5. Then I work on refining/ smoothing
6. My final steps are all cleaning up/adding details/texturesHere’s the finished work!

I see a lot of beginner artists missing the mark on drawing profile views, particularly on eyebrows & eyes—I hope this helps! 💖 Obviously you can stylize things however you want, but it’s important to reference & understand how things work in real life before attempting style if you’re concerned at all about believability.
Can you help me out with drawing feet from different perspectives? I cant even with feet, thank you!
oh dang feet are one of my weaker points so this will be brief.
first i start out with the main shape of the foot (simplify it into a wedge or triangle just to maintain proportions) note: toes are weird
and then start filling in the finer details. At this point, its up to the drawing gods to decide your fate idk just a;sldkfjAKDLFJS
*sweats* and there ya go
lHey friends!
Meg here for TUTOR TUESDAY! Today has been hectic so I apologize for it’s lateness. But let’s look at male bodies and body types. I cannot stress enough that this is meant to be provide a few base body types that can then be compounded on as there are a MILLION body types out there. I’ve made anatomy tutorials and muscle/fat distribution tutorials that may help understand this one. This was recommended by @flowerlion-today , send in your recs here or my personal! Keep practicing, have fun, and I’ll see you next week!
Skin tone swatches, for use as a resource.
Spudfuzz on Deviantart made the original resource, which I modified to be a bit more realistic. She gave me permission to post this.
☛These swatches, like all art resources, should be used as a “jumping off point!” All colours are relative, and change with lighting conditions. As they are now, these swatches work best for adoptables, character lineups, and other art where local colour is important. ☚

Tuesday Tips - The Face Profile Something I use all the time when I storyboard. The profile is simple, direct, and conveys a lot of information about a character. A great deal of facial features are easier to define in a profile, such as the nose and mouth shapes. Use it to your advantage! It’s really useful when thumbnailing or doing gesture drawing. -Norm
