Hihi! This is my first time doing an ask on here, but I absolutely ADORE your writing and was hoping that it'd be okay to request something cute that I've been brainrotting over for awhile now.

How do you think the kamaboko squad + Sanemi would react to fem or gn reader accidentally/indirectly confessing that the like them? Like maybe they were gossiping with a friend of theirs and they happened to overhear the conversation? It can either be canonverse or modern au too! It sounds kinda silly now that I'm actually typing it out but whatever.

Definitely wasn’t oblivious to the soft whispers he’d hear whenever Y/n would talk with Nezuko as she resided in her box or when she would be in the room with them

he probably would be like “👀 who’s this sun individual” like the mom friend he is

homie would probably not suspect it’s him because he would definitely feel that perhaps she was into someone else or not interested in a relationship

“Nezuko, how can I tell sun how I feel?” She would mutter a little embarrassed Nezuko’s hums and gentle pats of encouragement definitely helped in calming her down…“He’s just so precious, like the morning sun,” she’d laugh, “Sun is just so wonderful, I think I love him…”

Tanjiro would definitely think it’s sweet how she talks to Nezuko about her feelings and hearing Nezuko respond back to the best of her abilities made him smile though he did feel a little sad as he didn’t think it was him

He probably realized it was him when he would hear other descriptions about “sun” like the mention of gentle crimson eyes and burgundy toned hair — man’s would get all blushy blush

Would definitely internally cheer with a sigh of relief and a heart over his hand — that adorable smile on his face

He’d have a cute daydreams about a peaceful life with her and how she’d laugh with Nezuko all those family gathering type things

Would take all his effort to not confess his own eavesdropping — poor boy felt so bad listening in because it’s something private that clearly she didn’t want him to know just yet (,:

Before he realized it was him he would probably be a little jealous like HEJABFJSJDJDDJ WHO ELSE IS GIVING HER FLOWERS?!

Then he realized…”oh wait I’m the only one who gives her flowers”

It would take his whole effort to not jump her and confess his undying love for her at that very moment

Zenitsu would definitely feel like he’s on cloud nine hearing that she returned his love, the whole floral aura around him and everything

Nothing could dampen his day after hearing that she loves him and only him

He would definitely stay closer to her and probably try to keep her attention on him more often

Zenitsu would feel more courage in his effort of confessing…eventually

Overhearing the conversation between her and Tanjiro he’d probably be like (homie would blow his cover because he was spying) “WHOS THIS BEAUTIFUL INDIVIDUAL TRYING TO TAKE MY WOMAN”

Wait, did he just say that?

A facepalm from both of them as it’s pretty obvious with how they describe him that it’s Inosuke

He would frequently hear of ‘sweetie’ when she would come over for extra training with Gyomei or simply just dropping by for a visit

Until suddenly! He listened closely to the things she would say in describing the so called ‘sweetie’

The way his face would get all red from embarrassment for eavesdropping but also from overwhelming happiness at realizing that she returned his feelings

He’d definitely open up more to her and despite being a little shy and flustered

absolute sweetheart. i can imagine his love for you in the form of a crush bloomed after already becoming friends; getting to know you just caused him to fall for you quite quickly!

often offers to help you with your homework — he can’t help but allow his gaze to travel towards you as you work silently in class, brows furrowed in a prominent confusion as your pencil-in-hand is still while you think much harder than you should have to.

ever the gentleman, he invites you to his house to study and stay for dinner. he warns you of the chaos of his house with so many siblings, but you wave it off with a smile, assuring him it would be fine.

and it was! his siblings absolutely adore you, but this means you don’t get a whole ton of progress regarding your schoolwork. the little ones constantly seem to crave your affection, little hands grasping at your clothes. and so you scoop them up, play with them, keep them entertained — and tanjiro just melts at the sight. he is such a family-oriented guy, after all.

tanjiro insists he walk you home, ever so stubborn even as you tell him you’ll be alright. he slides his arms into his jacket sleeves before you can retort, grabs your hand in his own without thinking, and gently pulls you out the door — not before you say goodbye to his family and thank them for the meal, of course.

when you finally arrive home, belly full and beginning to feel a familiar tiredness weighing on your eyelids, you’re taken by surprise at sparks of electricity that flow through you when tanjiro gently takes both of your hands in his own.

“thank you so much for coming over,” he flashes you that infamous warm, breathtaking tanjiro smile, though you can’t help but notice something new; a prominent blush on his cheeks. “could i.. take you out sometime?”

inosuke

absolutely feral. we been knew this. you must have a lot of patience for this pretty boy because he has no mercy!!

has never given a single fuck about romance or “crushes”, confusion in his emerald gaze as he sees high school sweethearts in the halls, holding hands, hugging, kissing

he’s so focused on violence that it’s never really crossed his mind, and at first, he was disgusted by it in a way. there’s just something about you, though, something that blooms a warm fire within his chest and releases butterflies in his stomach, and at first, he was intimidated by the foreign sensation

i imagine he takes part in sports after school — he’s so active, after all, he needs to get that energy out somehow

he blatantly mentions how he has an upcoming game at the lunch table with the rest of the kamaboko squad one day, and you nearly choke on your food. he hadn’t told you?!

gaining a bit more information on this game he spoke of, you decide to show up, cheering him on the entire time! he notices you cheering and pumping your fists in the air from the bleachers, and the sight catches him so off guard he gets distracted and ends up falling to the ground in the middle of the field

during a break, he runs to the sidelines to meet you, sweaty and panting. you smile at him, offering him a blue gatorade — his favorite, he notes — and takes it with wide eyes, unsure of how to respond.

“i can’t believe you didn’t tell me you play!” you lean against the fence, eyes shining as you gaze out at the field, suddenly much more interested in the school sports than you’d ever been. something clicks in inosuke, and he completely short circuits, unsure of how to form words all of a sudden, and so to avoid it he snaps the cap off the gatorade and downs it in a few large gulps.

a whistle blows from behind inosuke, and a part of him is disappointed to get back to the game, which only confuses him more. “i have to go,” he announces, noticing the way your expression falls when he turns to leave.

he pauses for a few heartbeats, his brows furrow, and then he turns around once again, catching you by the wrist before you can return to your spot on the bleachers.

“thanks,” he grumbles under his breath, and your eyes widen upon realizing.. he’s blushing?

“stop staring before i wipe that stupid look off your face!” he threatens, tossing the empty bottle in a nearby trashcan, “..hey, wait for me after the game, okay?”

Flashes of purple electricity bolted around you, your chest heaving. Using your claymore to shield yourself in rapid succession along with your uneven breaths. The air smelled thick with smoke, trees lay in an ashy mess around the forest. The violent strikes of electricity coming from two different people, both equally as strong as the other. 

Your chest heaved as your eyes blinked like flickering orbs of light. Pupils darting from side to side in an attempt to pinpoint the next strike of electricity. Of course, this had been your fault in the first place. Walking into an ongoing fight that consisted of two people who hated you wasn’t the best choice. 

However, what you hadn’t expected was the puppet to be working with the Shogun to try and kill you. The Shogun certainly didn’t care whether or not she killed you or him, she had reasons for both after all.

Your eyes narrowed as you heard a fizz in your left ear, jumping to the side to narrowly dodge another bolt of lightning. The Shogun stood before you in the dark smoke covered sky, the hands she stood on only making your fear worsen. She was an Archon after all, and you a simple vision bearer. Her eyes glowing purple with surges of electricity jolting through them. The aura that surrounded her seemed as if she’d lost all humanity, only being driven by her urge to kill.

On the other hand, your second opponent had been on the ground with you. The catalyst bearing puppet who swore up and down he hated your guts; even though you worked along-side him for years. You, being a Fatui Harbinger as well as a Cryo vision bearer, had quite the challenge against these two. The slightly slower swings of your claymore adding more insult to your already terrible situation.

Your arms were littered with black spots, turning your veins purple and surging with and electric jolt. A single moment of focusing on something else would be your downfall because within the next second, the ground before you was stricken with electricity. This, of course, sent you flying backward. 

What you didn’t expect, is to be caught by something. Two hands grabbing your arms as your back rested against his chest. You turned your head to the side to look him in the eyes.

“I thought you hated me, Scaramouche?” You spoke out dryly, making sure to clearly say his Harbinger name just to spite him. 

“We’ve got bigger problems right now.” He spat back. 

He pushed you off him lightly, picking your claymore up from the ground with one hand. You stared at him for a moment, forgetting about the ravaging Shogun trying to find the both of your positions from beneath the trees. 

You hesitantly rested your hand on top of his. “Care to help me calm down this sweets loving Archon, Kuni?” 

He clicked his tongue and shook his head. “I don’t really have a choice, do I?” 

You took the Claymore from him. “No, not really.” 

He huffed out a breath before walking behind you and pressing his back against yours, his catalyst ready to aim in one hand. His other stood poised and ready to direct lighting at any given moment. You positioned your Claymore in front of you, plunging it into the ground. The dirt beneath, cracking and surging with a light blue hue. 

He spoke one last time before everything blew up in a flurry of elements and light, a sentence you’d never forget.

“Let’s get this over with, my dear.”
