Suad Ahmad is an engineer from Gaza. She graduated from university at the top of her class and was rapidly excelling in her career as an instructor, consultant, and team leader.
Suad, her husband, and their family were overjoyed to find out she was pregnant. Sadly, this was only a week before occupation began its illegal scorched earth campaign against the people of Gaza. Suad's home (left) and workplace (right) were destroyed, and she and her husband's family were displaced from the north.
After building a scaffolding structure for their family in the supposed âsafe areaâ in Rafah (left), the occupation attacked the city and forced their evacuation. Suad and her family were then displaced to Deir al-Balah, where they procured a tent (right). As you can see, these are small, vulnerable structures, completely exposed to the elements. They were exposed to multiple disease vectors while also being unable to procure enough food. During this time, Suad became extremely sick with gastroenteritis, a dangerous condition during pregnancy.
On the day she went into labor, Suad had to walk a great distance to the hospital. Upon arrival, she found that the hospital was operating at bare minimal capacity. There was not even a bed for her to use. Suadâs baby was born with minimal medical support, and the ordeal was extremely difficult. The occupation then began bombing the vicinity of the hospital. Suad and her baby were in immense danger, with nowhere to turn.
Unfortunately, the situation has only gotten worse. Suad and her infant are now living in a tent in extreme heat. IOF attacks continue, putting their lives in immediate danger. The occupationâs blockade on Rafah Crossing and the destruction of roads and infrastructure has led to increased, extreme food scarcity. Suad cannot find enough food to feed herself or her baby. She has not been able to recover from the difficult birth, and her baby is missing out on crucial nutrition needed for neonatal development.
Suad has had a campaign open for several weeks, raising support so that she, her husband, and her husbandâs mother and sister could evacuate to Egypt. Sadly, progress has been slow. She was unable to collect the necessary resources to evacuate before the occupation illegally seized Rafah Crossing, the only border crossing that would enable evacuation.
However, international pressure continues to mount on the occupation to depart the crossing. Once they do, Suad and her baby need to be able to evacuate to Egypt for their health and safety. You can help make this possible by directly supporting them at the link below.
Please, help give Suad and her baby a better chance at life. If you cannot give, please reblog this post and repost the linkâśď¸ (https://gofund.me/ebaee2af) across all of your social media accounts.

Kalim on any given day
Hello,,
My name is Fatima Alanqar, I am 30 years old, and my husband Bilal Dader is 33. We are parents to five children: Yazan (12), Fadl (11), Zina (10), Rajaa (7), and our baby girl Basma, who is just a year and a half old.
My lovely family
We live in Tal AlHawa, Gaza. In the early days of the war, we were forced to flee our home after it was completely destroyed by occupation forces with fire and missiles. Our car was also burned down to a heap of metal, and all our clothes were burned too. We have been displaced 17 times, each time escaping death by a miracle. We walked long distances on foot with our children who struggled to keep up, driven by fear to escape danger.
After years of effort and construction for our house, then one day and one night everything vanished
My children's mental health has been shattered. They have suffered immensely from fear, displacement, and homelessness, with barely enough food and water to feed a small cat. They have endured carrying water over long distances throughout the day, surrounded by destruction, rockets, and shrapnel. They were deprived of continuing their education, despite being top students.
One of those times when we had to sleep in our previously destroyed house, a missile landed on us and, by Godâs grace, it did not explode.
My children have been deprived of the food they love and need for their bodies and minds to grow, enduring constant fear and terror day and night for 10 months without any peace or rest. We also contracted many diseases, including hepatitis and skin infections due to the lack of water and hygiene supplies in overcrowded shelters and sometimes in our destroyed home :( . We were also forced to stay completely still for periods ranging from 3 to 7 days due to the ongoing siege, drinking contaminated water out of fear of the tanks around us.
Our car was not spared from the bombing either
The children's rooms were completely burned...
Some members of my family were martyred, and others were injured. Fear, crying, and sadness fill the place.
We once had all the comforts and basic tools for a decent life, but now we have lost everything. We cook our food over open fires despite the exhaustion and heat, and we barely manage to get flour, water, and firewood. Yet we remain resilient in northern Gaza despite the bombing, hunger, and severe shortages of water, medicine, and necessary supplies.
And now, that's all we have
I was even forced to wean my year-and-a-half-old daughter due to the lack of milk :( .
We are displaced and homeless, continuously moving from one place to another until this dreadful war ends.
My heart breaks for her.... :
We are in desperate need of your help. We invite you to contribute to this fund to save my family and provide us with a safe shelter, food, water, and healthcare for all of us. Please share our story with your friends and family to raise awareness and support. Your words and prayers give us the strength to endure these difficult circumstances.
Your donation, no matter how small, can make a big difference in our lives. We rely on your support and standing by us during this tough time. Together, we can restore hope and safety for Fatima and her family.
With deepest gratitude from your faithful friend,
Fatima and Family
TWST Ramble: Kalim
This isn't much of an analysis bit it is more me rambling about a few things I've noticed from Kalim(our sunshine boy) overtime I don't see much fan content on.
He's surprisingly inventive: What I mean is judging from a few personal stories, especially his laboratory one it shows how despite being unable to cook usually, Kalim was almost masterfully able to prepare and cook every bit of food with magic alone. Yes Ruggie directed him when he needed to, but the point still shows that Kalim is more capable than we think. Another is during his dorm uniform's personal story. When his two dorm mates accidentally let out a flock of seven coloured birds, instead of defaulting to Jamil he knew silver always had birds and animals around him so he took the white birds and used them for the parade, using his own Unique magic to coat them in the colors with the light reflecting through the water
He seems like he's been stunted: What I mean by this is that Kalim looks like he's been stunted in his growth his whole life. With being given everything by his parents, and even with jamil holding back from actually trying his best in a way stunted kalim's growth both as a magician and a person. Which brings me to-
He's a very fast learner: Despite his naivety, and his upbringing, when he is forced to try and learn on his own to solve a problem without jamil, Kalim absorbs the information ridiculously well and adapts to it quickly. There's two showings of this, the first was with poison, seeing jamil being poisoned Kalim drilled himself to be able to spot and recognize most poisons. And on to the second example, during the Halloween event last year, after only one lesson from rook, Kalim was able to act like a wild wolf so convincingly he managed to scar jack to the point where even after realizing it was Kalim his tail was still between his legs out of fear. And then he acted so well he drew a genuine complement from Jamil, even shocking him at how well he managed to do.
He's not that airheaded: While we all know Kalim is airheaded, and doesn't observe things that well. I think we as a fandom often forget how observant Kalim actually is. The biggest example to date is how Kalim always knew Jamil wasn't a good person and expected jamil to betray him much sooner. And tell me if I'm wrong about this, but i think Kalim might have even noticed when Jamil acted worse than he actually was when he was with him.
So yeah, all in all I think we as a fandom sometimes forget Kalim is actually more than being a ball of airheaded sunshine, he has layers to him than we usually think of.
theyre bonding
since some white bitches on here have decided they'd much rather give money to this shitty excuse of a website than people who are trying to escape death and genocide like the daft cunts they are can the rest of you please promote siraj's (@siiraj2024) campaign? he's managed to reach his short term goal of $20,000 CAD in time but he has a long term goal set for $82,000 CAD to rebuild his home for him and his family
siraj is a journalist who has been hard at work documenting what daily life is like in gaza on his blog. idk how people on here can look at literal videos of bombs being dropped and claim that people like him are actually bots trying to scam you out of your money but whatever. he and every other palestinian have gone through things that no human being should ever have to and yet he's still found the time and effort to record things for the world to see and reach out to people like me get his story heard and spread.
please donate if you can and share his link! he may have succeeded in getting to $20K by the end of this week like he hoped he would but that doesn't mean the momentum should slow down! he still has $62K left to go!

My thoughts on the line up for Jadeâs hometown event:
Why would they add in Rook and Riddle when theyâve already been in a wedding event? I guess Riddle is connected to Floyd (who might I remind is NOT the focus of the event) and Rook constantly romanticizes things so weddings are kinda in his wheelhouse, but, they donât need this!
So, after going over the characters, hereâs my thoughts on who would stand in for Rook and Riddle instead!
First off, I immediately got rid of Ortho. Nothing against Ortho, ofc! I just donât want Twst to disappoint me. I personally headcanon Ortho to be both transfem and physically 16 post book 6 (or more accurately, post Fairy Gala, but the events arenât entirely canon) so if she were to be there, I would just be unhappy and so I think Iâll save wedding event gear Ortho for my own mind
Second, obviously Azul and Floyd arenât coming. I understand wanting both twins to be there, but hometown events only really focus on ONE person from that area, so even if multiple characters are from the same town, then only one of them gets the focus. This is scene most clearly in Jamilâs hometown event, where even though the whole reason why everyone is there in the first place is Kalim, Kalim has barely any focus in the event at all, not even getting his own costume change and staying in his dorm uniform
(Side tangent, I remember when we first saw the Tangled event cards and everyone thought it would be a Riddle hometown event, and if it was, then it would have been SUCH a clever way of finding a solution to the problem of multiple characters having the same hometown. We could have actually gone somewhere new, fleshed out the world a bit, met one of Riddleâs parents etc. without actually going to his hometown, so later down the line Trey could have a focus event and we could probably meet one of his siblings (since the manga gives us designs for his parents) It could have been so clever!! But nope! NRC lore and role playing Tangled during the shortest event instead! I donât accept it as canon, even more so than events usually are, because a hometown styled event would have been the much better option!)
Onto my actual picks! Vil! The main reason I chose him was because 2/3 of Pomefiore already have a wedding themed outfit, so I thought it would be fun to complete the trio lol. Also, he could fill a similar role to Riddle being more on the reluctant and stricter side of things. I could see Jade doing something similar to Vil as he did to Riddle to convince him to come, too. Also, like I mentioned, Riddle is closer connected to Floyd out of twins most often. Though I guess Riddle is connected to the entire octatrio, being classmates with Jade, going through book 6 with Azul, and Floyd always teasing Riddle. But yeah, Riddleâs already been used in a wedding event so get the other queen to go instead. Plus Jadeâs dorm vignette is a thing, even if I havenât read it myself so idk what actually goes on besides Jade getting Vil new shoes so that Vil can sponsor the Mostro Lounge
Now, if part of the reason that I chose Vil was because he was a good stand in for Riddle, then I thought that the fourth character should be someone comparable to Rook. My first thought was Cater, as a wedding seems like something both of them would enjoy being apart of/barring witness to, but then I thought, this is Jadeâs event, and Cater and Jade arenât all that connected. Even if thatâs not really an issue with hometown events, I thought that Kalim might make a better fit instead. And, okay, Jade and Kalim arenât that connected either, but theyâre both second years so that counts? Admittedly I just want to put Kalim and Jade in the same room and have them interact. Kalim would also be pretty easy to convince I think and heâd probably really enjoy the party of it all and seeing two people in love with each other be happy
So yeah, thatâs my thought process! I think a team of Jade, Malleus, Vil and Kalim could be really fun! Though, putting any of these guys in a room together would be fun lol. Maybe Iâll design outfits for Vil and Kalim later, but I want to know what other people think too. If anyone has any characters theyâd want to see in the event, then tell me why them specifically!
While Iâm here, I also want to say: I think Azulâs hometown event should be in the actual Coral Sea and not just on the coast of it and we get to meet his mom, and Floydâs can also be on land and we get to meet Papa Leech. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk
