but one more thing i love about op is the fact that luffy's motivation to fight is always because he is literally kind and that's it. he cannot stand assholes and that's fucking it, almost in all cases. he sees this one grand bitchboy he does not fw and he is ready to throw hands then and there.

he didn't stick around to hear nami's story and why they should kill arlong, he didn't bother listening to chopper's back-story and why wapol's a royal cunt.

he doesn't need to.

he likes nami, he likes chopper, he likes all the other characters that have been wronged and he doesn't need other valid reasons to fight for them. he swears his life for people that haven't even told him how they've been wronged and he doesn't need reasons to justify that sort of behavior, that's just how he is.

he is unflinchingly kind.

and that's fucking terrifying if you're going against him.
