Iron is only formed in the hearts of dying stars, and its a key component of vertebrate blood. This fish, like all of us, is made of star-stuff and the galaxies in its fins reflect that.

But astro-axolotl why a fish when all vertebrates have iron in their blood? Good question. The answer is I just really, really like fish.

A 13 year-old squats in a puddle of blood in 3/4 view with her back mostly to the camera. Another day, another oc (Dogslobber) and another osha violation. (pretty sure 14 year olds are not legally allowed to smoke and that blood puddles are work place hazards).

Her yellow eye with a red iris looks directly at the viewer.

A black cowboy hat with a violet ribbon shades her stern face. Standing behind her is a bipedal black creature made of rivulets of thick liquid. Two pronghorn antlers sprout from the crown of its head. Its red eye stares at the viewer, emotionless. Two wings spread out fully behind its back. Behind them both the sun is setting, painting the sky red, orange and purple. The sand is the color of blood with small tufts of brush sprouting.

A teenager girl on a quest to avenge her mother. A demonic guardian bound to her that refuses to kill people. An empty desert where no one can hide for long....

Made a little portrait of a sea slug lady complete with the head antennae and face sensory tentacles. I think we sometimes forget they're voracious predators so I gave her sharp teeth.

A 7 page zine about Michigan turtles. The first page has an outline of Michigan with turtle shell pattern on it and small turtles in the Great Lakes. The next page has green painted turtle on rock with its back to the camera. The text reads: MI's state reptile. The next page has a green spotted turtle with the words fits in your hand. The last page has a green Eastern box turtle both in and out of its shell. An arrow points to the hinge on the closed turtle. The text reads can close up like a box.
The next has a green Blanding's turtle. The top text box says yellow throat. The other says always smiling. The next is a green snapping turtle with its mouth open showing its tongue. The text says MI's biggest turtle. The next has a green wood turtle and the text says "stomps to make tasty worms come out of the ground."
