Feeling rather crappy for the past few days. Figured I'd try some hiking and time outdoors which often helps get me out of my funk. Started with the Chedoke Radial Trail from the golf club to Scenic Dr and along the top of the escarpment to the 403 and back. Most of the falls along this stretch were dry or nearly so. Also there weren't any good jumping cliffs. Then, being slightly hazy/cloudy, thought we might get a good sunset so wandered over to Bayfront. Nice but not glorious. The sun finally came out a bit and the temp rose a little above freezing, so I decided to get out for a hike. Went down to Bayfront Park and the Waterfront Trail. The breeze was chilly however the sun felt nice. Stopped by the nesting mute swans that are there each year. My friend Janine had posted that they had laid their 1st 2 eggs. I was curious how.more had been deposited since they take 2 or 3 weeks to lay the full clutch. Fortunately mom didn't make me wait too long. I saw she had at least 9 eggs so far as she stood up after preening and turning the eggs. Not sure if she is finished with laying. A fun afternoon with my favourite 4-legged nephew, Carl @sdit_carl and his daddy Jake @jake_and_carl @jake.maurice. Started with training and playing in Gage Park. Then McDonald's for dinner, then a trip to Wal-Mart where I bought him a small toy. He was so good. We worked on his distraction training and he really improved a lot in just 1 afternoon. Smart puppy - and so damn cute. They are a great team already. He's almost 4 months. (Well, daddy is a bit more than 4 months old. Lol) We tried on a hotdog costume while at Wal-Mart.
