Canada goose Gosling at Bayfront Park. Mom and dad allowed me to get low and close, and also used my 200mm zoom to get this image. It's small despite the long shadow - nearing sunset. Out for a hike in the pre-Spring-like weather and seeing some old friends. Nice to be feeding the black capped chickidees, the downy woodpeckers and nuthatches. Sadly the cardinals, sparrows and red-winged blackbirds were less sociable.

Interesting that there is a pecking order (pun intended) in who feeds first. Both the chickidees and the woodpeckers. In the case of the chickidees, size seems the determining factor. In the case of the woodpeckers, the females control the pace.

Also a nice gathering of Canadian Geese, Trumpeter Swans and Mallard Ducks. I think though they were protesting all the tourists.

Brian Greene asks and answers: "How to Make Science Great Again? Make it accessible..." Science is already quite accessible - for those who understand the very basics. The problem with many of the conventional solutions proposed is that they make the assumption people understand basic science, at least at a grade 9 or 10 level. Sadly most don't even have this level of knowledge, and more importantly, they lack the understanding and comprehension of what they have been taught. They may have their school grades, but they don't understand how it applies to the real world or how the scientific method works. Most don't even care about their ignorance.
