Neither of us was strong enough. There might not be anyone in Middle-earth who is. But perhaps, the Elves need only remember that it is not strength that overcomes darkness, but light. Armies may rise, hearts may fail, yet still, light endures, and is mightier than strength. For in its presence, all darkness must flee.
CHARLES EDWARDS as CELEBRIMBOR THE RINGS OF POWER 2.07: DOOMED TO DIE.
Ok, so I didn’t want to be the one to have to bring this up, cause gods know I don’t consume enough media to be a fair judge, but can we please talk about Bajie and Pilgrim, and how they, two visibly plus sized men, are allowed to fight? And fight well? Cause animated cartoons aside, I pretty much never see that happen and even in animated features, it’s usually played for laughs, But not in Into the Badlands.
Look at these shots. They’re well choreographed, not gimmicky, and not done in an exaggerated cartoonish fashion. They’re serious, and by the way other characters react to these fights, we’re meant to take the fighting credibility of these characters seriously. HOW OFTEN DO YOU SEE THIS SORT OF PLUS SIZED BODY POSITIVITY IN BIG PRODUCTION MEDIA?
We’ve seen those body positivity posts on social media,

that remind us that yes, fat people can also do amazing atheletic feats, but how often do we get to see popular media give a nod to those people and give plus sized people this sort of positive, empowering spotlight? Cause for me that’s basically never. And more often than not, I see plus sized people get played for laughs by how physically limited people think they are. Not in Into the Badlands and I’m so here for that.
Addendum: This stuff is also really accurate to the wuxia theme or the show, cause in a lot of the old wuxia novels, including three of the four great Chinese classics, there are lot of heavy set men (and in the case of the Water Margin, women) running around kicking butt and taking names. Bajie is actually based Zhu Bajie from Journey Into the West, who given, is a pig, but the main character of that series is a monkey, so yeah.
Also, can someone else talk about the fashion on these two? Cause I swear there’s some cool plus sized fashion stuff happening there, especially with Bajie’s purple jacket getup.
Now you just walk around like you’re in pumps.

“What, what, what, WHAT!?” the actress recalls thinking. “Because it comes out of fucking nowhere. I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming. I cried,” Clarke says. “And I went for a walk. I walked out of the house and took my keys and phone and walked back with blisters on my feet. I didn’t come back for five hours. I’m like, ‘How am I going to do this??’
THAT tells you all you need to know about Daenerys. It was NOT foreshadowed. It was NOT in her character to do what she did. D&D are trying to cover their tracks but Emilia Clarke is not having it!
Did you know that we have better maps of the moon that we have of Earth? This is an actual 3D model of our Mooncrom NASA.
The LRO Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has done all the homework for us after 10 years in Luna! Thank you, little guy! You are indeed GLORIOUS for withstanding Lunar Orbit and sending us all that data to prepare us for Artemis. 🙋♀️🏻🚀🥳🙏

Aaaaand we may have pooled some money for a Cameo, as inspired by the U.S.S. Saffi doing the same with Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan. Here stands the result.

Sebastian Stan’s Interview about his return at SDCC for Marvel’s Falcon and Winter Soldier.
“Eliot didn’t say anything. For all the years of his life he’d spent with Janet, he’d never really known her, not deep down. Sometimes he looked at her and thought, Gosh, I wonder what’s underneath all that anger, all that hard glossy armor? Maybe there’s just an innocent, wounded little girl in there who wants to come out and play and be loved and get happy. But now he wondered if maybe that little girl was long gone, or if she’d ever been there at all. What was under all that armor, all that anger? More anger, and more armor. Anger and armor, all the way down…”
