Vampireapologist: I also can't rent movies in two different towns so there's that. alexhunterreaves: As a person I think this is funny, but as a librarian this really annoys me.
vampireapologist: I'm newly terrified by the implication that librarians aren't people and I've misjudged what exactly I'm up against.

A rather delightful little souvenir.

I was sitting in the front row at the matinee and, during Tears of Laughter, this fluttered off Anna Francolini's fan and landed in my lap.

I shall treasure it always.

Varney starts the episode with pale skin, and his complexion gets lighter and lighter as the nights go by, until he's ready to feed on Thompson. The effect needed to be subtle, so as not to be obvious, and was achieved by a combination of make-up and tweaking the grade in post-production. When Varney was ready to finally feed, Morales was determined it be memorable, with the camera lingering on the bloodsucking which we see both directly and via the rearview mirror (with Shearsmith absent, as vampires don't cast relections). 'Guillem said, "We'll go, via the mirror, to him feeding and he's not there, but we see the pulsing chewing of the neck happening."' I thought, brilliant. I've never seen that before. And he wanted that shot of me feeding on his neck to last longer than you would normally expect. lt seemed to go on and on,' recalls Reece, who had blood in his mouth which he spewed on cue. 'And I was like, "Can we cut?"" Come the editing, Shearsmith was still unsure how long the shot should last. 'He Was like, "Is this too long or is it just me?"" laughs Morales 'That was quite an achievement, to make Reece uncomfortable.' Pemberton was less concerned. 'Because you withheld all your vampirism, you want to make the most of it when it comes in,' says Steve.
