He misinterpreted Hannibal’s silence for guilt and he sighed, leaning against the man’s arm to convey that he wasn’t mad at him. Will said, “I just don’t want Jack to get any wrong ideas, okay? I would hate for you to go to jail because of a stupid pun.”

His poverty was not one of extreme deprivation but of restriction, of never being able to afford more than the essentials. Later in life, however, Will gained financial security through his professional roles...his work as an FBI consultant, his teaching position, and even as an author of a book used in official training. By the time we see him in the show, he is far from poor; in fact, he has amassed significant wealth. Yet his attitude toward money is cautious, even frugal. This is a common trait in those who grow up without financial security. Money is not seen as something to be indulged in but as something to be preserved. The fear of losing it lingers, and so he is unlikely to splurge, preferring comfort over excess, stability over extravagance.

Hannibal’s trajectory, by contrast, is one of dramatic extremes. He was born into wealth, lost it in an incredibly brief yet profoundly traumatic period of scarcity, and then regained it, never to lose it again. The nature of his deprivation was far more intense than Will’s, his suffering was not just financial but existential, marked by starvation, war, and the destruction of his entire world. This kind of scarcity often breeds an obsession with indulgence rather than security. Those who experience such extreme deprivation, especially those who later come into great wealth, frequently develop compulsions toward excess, seeking to consume, possess, and experience everything available to them as a way to compensate for past lack. Had a dream where Hannibal got renewed for a 4th season and the only advertising campaign was that Hannibal and Will just Showed Up in random places on google maps and you'd see them doing stuff like drinking coffee in paris or standing on top of a train or them murdering various ppl. Noone was told where Hannibal and Will would be either so there were just a bunch of fans scouring every square inch of google maps for Hannigram sightings.

Eileen (2023) | Fan Theory

I rewatched Eileen (with my sister who loved the movie btw) and I just had a thought pop into my head! I don't know if this is a known thing or if someone has already thought of this, but my theory is that Rebecca is a killer and her modus operandi is finding an unsuspecting person to frame for her crimes!

I believe that Rebecca finds a person who "shares the same ideals" as her and makes them complicit in her kill, then has that person take the fall. Her victim in this case is Eileen, a budding murderer who Rebecca knows she can manipulate.

I had a feeling that throughout the movie Rebecca didn't really care for Eileen. Rebecca tends to talk over her and never really listens to what Eileen says. Not to mention, Rebecca essentially love bombs her, knowing that Eileen is a very lonely and isolated young woman.

Was Rebecca ever a real person? Was her crying and screaming all just an act? Did she find young men wronged by the system and enact her own kind of justice by killing the people responsible for them? Did she kill someone at her previous job then move on to Massachusetts where she chose her next victim?

This movie was so good because it really makes you stop and think. It's so worth it to watch a second time just to pick up on all the little nuances and foreshadowing.
