using your boyfriend! katsuki bakugo's face to test out if your lipsticks are kiss-proof.
katsuki leaned back against the couch, a mix of annoyance and amusement flickering in his eyes as you're perched on his lap, armed with an array of lipsticks on the coffee table.
the array of tubes came in various shades of red, pink, beige and even orange gleamed under the light, and your grin was way too mischievous for his liking.
“this is stupid,” he grumbled, though he didn’t make any effort to push you away.
“no, this is science,” you teased with a grin, twisting open a tube of lipstick. “i need to test if these are actually kissproof, and who better to test on than my loving boyfriend?”
“remind me again why i agreed to this?” he asked dryly, though the faintest smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
“because you love me. now sit still, and don’t wipe your face, no matter what.”
katsuki instinctively tensed, but before he could say anything, your lips pressed against his, leaving a bold red kiss mark.
you pulled back to inspect your work, tapping your chin thoughtfully. "hmm, not bad, but let’s see if it smudges.”
you lightly rubbed his lips off the kiss mark with your thumb, then grinned triumphantly when it smudged slightly.
“guess this one isn’t kissproof. let’s try another.”
“you’re just usin' this as an excuse to kiss me.”
“maybe,” you admitted, a sly smile tugging at your lips as you reached for another lipstick. “but you’re not complaining, are you?”
he opened his mouth to retort, but you cut him off with another kiss, this time on his forehead. katsuki grumbled under his breath, but the way his lips twitched betrayed his amusement.
one by one, you tested out each and every one of your lipsticks. you made sure to leave vibrant marks across his cheeks, his forehead, his jawline, and even the tip of his nose. each kiss mark was a different shade, creating a chaotic warm hue of affection on his face.
its only half way, and katsuki’s face was plastered in smudged kiss marks, and his patience was starting to run out.
“are you done yet?” he grumbled, watching you in the corner of his eye as you leaned in close, his tone exasperated but not entirely serious.
“shush,” you grinned, leaning forward to press a kiss against his cheek. you pulled back, studying the growing collection of kiss marks.
“okay, definitely not kissproof,” you said with a satisfied nod before reapplying another shade. he didn’t move as you kissed his jaw this time, leaving another bold lip mark. you pulled back, inspecting your work. “nope, not this one either. next!”
katsuki sighed, his patience wearing thin, but he stayed put, his hands resting on his thighs. “sweets... how many of these fuckin' things do you actually have?”
you ignored him, happily swiping on a soft pink shade next. you leaned in again, pressing your lips to the other side of his face. you pulled back, feigning disappointment. “ooh, not kissproof either. guess we keep going!”
“what a shame,” katsuki deadpanned, his voice dripping with sarcasm with the squeez of your hips, looking at you so affectionately.
but you weren't done yet.
you were intentionally avoided the tubes you knew were kissproof, prolonging the excuse to pepper his face with kisses. each time you left a print, you grinned, giggling as his face slowly became a canvas of lip marks in every imaginable shade—reds, pinks, beiges, and even a daring orange.
by the time you finally went through them all, katsuki’s face was an absolute mess of lipstick smudges. you dabbed on your first long-lasting formula lipstick, making sure it was a bright, bold red.
“this one’s supposed to be smudge-proof,” you said, leaning in close and planting a firm kiss above his neck. you pulled back, studying his skin. not a single smudge. there was nothing there—just the clean outline of his breath-takingly sharp jaw.
“huh. guess this one’s actually it."
but before you could grab a makeup wipe to start cleaning up, katsuki’s patience finally snapped. he grabbed your wrist, pulling you closer into his lap.
“oh, it’s kissproof, huh?” he muttered, his eyes narrowing with playful intensity.
you blinked, your cheeks heating up. “y-yeah, it is.”
“good. because you’re about to find out how kissproof it really is.”
but before you could protest, katsuki leaned in and kissed you deeply, his hands firm on your waist as he poured all his pent-up energy into the kiss.
he didn’t stop at one, either—he kissed your lips, your cheeks, your forehead, and down your jawline, his lips brushing against every inch of your skin he could reach.
you squeaked in surprise, trying and failing to squirm away as you dissolved into laughter. “k-katsuki, stop it!"
“you've been attackin' me all day,” he teased, nipping at your jaw lightly. “now it’s my turn.”
“katsuki, wait—” you started, but your words were cut off again as he kissed you firmly, his lips moving against yours with an intensity that made your head spin.
when he finally decided to pull back, your lips were slightly swollen, and your cheeks were flushed. your lipstick was still perfectly intact—proving it really was kissproof—but your face was flushed, and your laughter had turned into soft giggles.
“looks like it’s kissproof, alright,” he said, kissing down your cheek, then your jaw, then to your neck. again.
“katsuki!” you squealed, laughing as he peppered your face with kisses.
“fair’s fair. you got to mark me up, i'm just returnin' the favor.”
"uh-huh. you’re just looking for excuses to keep kissing me.”
“am not.” he argued, though his grin gave him away. “like you said. this is serious science, sweets.”
“fine. you win,” you said breathlessly, wrapping your arms around his neck. “but admit it—you secretly loved being my test dummy.”
katsuki smirked, brushing his nose against yours. “maybe. but only because it’s you.”
you smiled, leaning in to kiss him one last time. “you’re the best canvas ever.”
“and you’re the most annoyin' artist,” he shot back, pulling you close again. "but i love you anyway."

The living room was quiet except for the occasional scroll of a thumb against a phone screen and the faint sound of Katsuki sighing every now and then. Both of you were sprawled out on the couch, wrapped in blankets, doing absolutely nothing but enjoying each other’s presence.
After a whole damn day of training yesterday, your body was in absolute shambles. Everything hurt—your legs, your arms, your back—hell, even blinking felt exhausting. And naturally, you were complaining about it.
“I swear to god, Kats, if I have to do another goddamn windmill next week, I’m gonna fucking lose it,” you groaned, tossing your phone onto your stomach. “My body is screaming at me. Like, I think my muscles are planning a rebellion. My back, baby. My back is DONE.”
Katsuki, not even looking up from his phone, let out a short snort. “Well, no shit. You disappeared for a few months and then jumped straight back into training like some lunatic. What’d you expect?”
“That I’d have superhuman regeneration powers, obviously.” You rolled onto your stomach, dramatically burying your face into the pillow. “Ughhh, I need a back massage. Katsuki, pleaseee.”
“Tch. Fine, fine,” he grumbled, shoving his phone in his pocket. “I’ll get the oil. Wait here.”
You watched as he got up, stretching slightly before making his way toward your shared bedroom. You sighed in relief, smiling to yourself. Perks of having a strong-ass Pro Hero boyfriend—he gave damn good massages.
A few moments later, Katsuki returned with the familiar little bottle in his hand. He plopped back down next to you, tugging at your oversized top. “Take this off.”
You turned to him with a lazy smirk. “Oh? A lil kinky now are we, huh?” you teased, wiggling your eyebrows.
He let out a sharp laugh, shaking his head. “Shut the hell up and turn around, dumbass. Ain't tryna get you dicked down.”
Chuckling, you finally pulled your shirt over your head and lay back down on the couch, getting comfortable as he poured some of the oil into his hands. He rubbed them together before pressing his palms against your skin, starting slow, letting his thumbs dig into your tight muscles.
In all honesty, training was the pain in the ass. Especially since you just got back after a few months of taking break from dancing. Not gonna lie though, dancing was really you passion ever since you were a kid and it lead you to many great opportunities and achievements you never thought you'd reach. You've been through countless of stages and danced your ass in all of them.
Definitely you're not ashamed of that, cause who would? It was just that you and your crew were all busy for the last couple of months since competitions were just coming in and it was just too much to handle physically and mentally. That's why you took a little break but of course you also took your time to pass by your studio ever now and then. Checking out on the progress of the routine, just not entirely participating in the dance.
"Ohh yeah, press a little bit harder there, Kats."
"Yeah, yeah, quite moanin' your ass, I know I got magical hands."
"Hell yeah you do, babe." You grinned and Katsuki just chuckles.
A few minutes then passed by in comfortable silence before something felt… off.
You frowned. “Hey, Kats?”
“Hm?”
“You bought a new massage oil, didn’t you?”
“The fuck you mean?” Katsuki paused, his hands still pressed against your back. “I bought the same menthol massage oil we always use. Why?”
“Well… it’s not minty like usual. And it feels kinda… greasy?” You turned your head slightly, your brows furrowing. “Like, I dunno, it doesn’t feel the same.”
Katsuki huffed, shifting slightly as he lifted his hands and rubbed his fingers together, as if expecting the familiar cooling sensation to suddenly appear. “What the hell? It’s been a few minutes, and I don’t feel that minty shit either…”
Now getting suspicious, he reached down and grabbed the bottle from the floor to check it properly. Maybe he bought the wrong one by accident?
He flipped the bottle around in his hands, reading the label.
“…uhhh.”
Your head snapped up. “Katsuki, what the fuck do you mean ‘uhhh’?”
Katsuki blinked. Then blinked again. His red eyes grew about two sizes as he processed what he was holding.
You twisted your body slightly to look back at him, and the second you saw the bottle, your stomach dropped.
“KATSUKI.”
He flinched. “What?!”
“YOU STUPID FUCK. YOU USED FUCKING LUBE INSTEAD OF MASSAGE OIL?!”
Katsuki’s jaw clenched as he immediately went on the defensive. “ASSHOLE, THEY WERE IN THE SAME DAMN CABINET. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE?!”
“OH, I DUNNO, MAYBE READ THE GODDAMN BOTTLE?”
“I WASN’T THINKING ABOUT READING, I WAS THINKING ABOUT RUBBING YOUR WHINY ASS DOWN.”
You sat up fully now, chest still out, and slapped your hand over your face in pure disbelief. Meanwhile, Katsuki was still holding the damn lube bottle like it wasn’t already too late.
“This is actually insane. We are insane,” you muttered, shaking your head. “Oh my god, Katsuki, what if I had skin allergies or some shit? What if I just broke out in hives? Huh?”
“Well it hasn't happened before now did it? And plus, we’ll figure it out, dumbass,” he shot back, but his voice was losing the edge, turning into a chuckle as he finally started to process the absurdity of the situation.
You groaned dramatically, flopping back against the couch. “You're actually disgusting.”
Katsuki finally burst out laughing, tossing the bottle onto the coffee table. “You’ll live.”
Still pouting, you crossed your arms, glaring at him. “We’re never speaking of this again.”
“No, no, we absolutely are,” Katsuki smirked, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you into his chest. “I’m tellin’ the whole damn crew. You got rubbed down in lube.”
“YOU’RE NOT TELLING SHIT.”
Katsuki laughed harder, leaning down to press a kiss against the side of your head. “Relax, dumbass. No one’s gonna know.”
“…Swear on your All Might figurine?”
Katsuki groaned. “God, you’re fucking impossible.”
You snickered before finally letting yourself relax in his embrace. As much of a disaster as that was, at least now you had a new inside joke to hold over him for the rest of your lives.
"Will you be a gentleman now and bring me up to go shower with me?" You batted your eyes at him.
"Aight, aight, we'll shower together, princess." He kissed you're temple and carried you bridal style towards the bathroom with you chuckling.
And if he ever fucked up again, you now had the ultimate trump card:
“You used lube instead of massage oil, babe. You literally cannot say shit.”

~---------------------------------------------------------------------------~
You wiped the back of your neck with your towel, letting out a sigh as you gazed out at the wreckage of Gym Gamma. It wasn’t often that you found yourself pushing your limits alongside Bakugou, but when you did, it was always intense. But when he did it, it was just perfect...
"You done messing around?" Bakugou’s voice cut through the air, sharp and demanding as usual. He stood several yards away, his fists clenched at his sides, his expression hard as stone.
You chuckled, tossing your towel aside. "Maybe. I still have some energy left."
"Good," he grunted. "Let's see if you can keep up."
The two of you had been at it for hours, sparring and testing each other’s strengths. It was hard to deny how he pushed you to be better, even if his methods were… less than kind. But despite the yelling and the explosive bursts of energy, there was something about it that made you feel alive, something you couldn't quite explain.
You took a few steps forward, feeling the heat rise in your chest. You could tell he was getting agitated, his usual temper simmering beneath the surface. But this time, it was different. There was something in his gaze, a flicker of something… softer.
"Quit standing there like an idiot and move!" Bakugou snapped, his voice like a whip, urging you to action.
You smirked and lunged forward, your body moving with the fluidity of someone who had trained tirelessly. Bakugou didn’t give you any mercy, of course—he never did. His explosions erupted with reckless abandon, lighting up the air between you as you dodged and retaliated with your own quirks. The back and forth continued for what felt like an eternity. Both of you were covered in dirt and sweat, the remnants of battle lingering in the air. Which the sweat advantage was more for him.
Eventually, you managed to land a hit, a solid blow to his shoulder, and Bakugou faltered but continued to catch your arm before another hit landed. His eyes narrowed at you, a mix of admiration and frustration flashing across his face. "Tch, didn’t think you had it in you."
You smiled, feeling the adrenaline course through your veins. "Don’t underestimate me, Katsuki."
For a moment, there was silence between you two, broken only by the sound of your breathing and the somewhat shocked of you saying his name. The chaos of the training grounds seemed to fade away, and all that was left was the two of you. There was something strangely peaceful about the way he looked at you, even with his usual fire burning in his gaze.
Bakugou was never one to openly admit anything, but you could feel the shift in the air. You both stood there, catching your breath, eyes locked but you back up just a tad. There was a vulnerability in the way he held himself now, no longer the cocky, aggressive explosion of a person you often saw. Just him. Just you.
"You did good," he muttered, his voice quieter than usual. "Don't get used to it."
You felt your heart skip a beat at the unexpected compliment. "Thanks. Same to you."
He scoffed, turning his head away, but the faintest hint of a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. It was small, but it was enough. You both knew that moments like these didn’t need to be wrapped in words. The air was thick with unspoken understanding, something deeper than words could convey.
For once, the world around you didn’t matter. It was just you and Bakugou, in this moment of quiet intensity, where the only thing that mattered was the connection you shared. A bond forged through battles, through moments of anger and frustration, but also through mutual respect.
Bakugou let out a breath, breaking the silence. "You better be ready for next time. I’m not gonna go easy on you."
You raised an eyebrow, a grin creeping up on your face. "Thats what you said today too..."
Bakugou snapped his head towards you with narrow eyebrows and a pout in his face. "tch, your testing me aren't cha."
you walked passed him his eyes following you as you do, "take it however you'll like, come on we need return to the dorms, they probably made dinner by now, tough guy."
Bakugou sighed but picked up his bottle and towel starting to follow behind you. Soon Bakugou’s pace was quicker than yours, but he didn’t seem to mind when you fell into step beside him. For once, the usual distance between the two of you didn’t feel as strained. The occasional grunt or muttered curse was all that broke the silence between the two of you, but it felt… different. Comfortable, even.
You found yourself smiling without realizing it. But he did... he noticed everything about you, but did you know? No..
"You really went all out today," you said, nudging him lightly with your shoulder, Making him stop his thought.
He glanced at you, his eyes narrowing like he was trying to figure out whether you were teasing him. "Yeah, so what?"
You couldn’t help but chuckle, and the sound surprised you both. It was the first time you’d heard a laugh escape from either of you since the start of the day. Bakugou’s usual scowl softened for a moment, just enough for you to catch it. It was strange, hearing his deep voice not so gruff but almost… playful.
"You're not so bad when you're not shouting at me, you know?," you teased.
Bakugou snorted, an actual laugh escaping him for a split second. "Tch, shut up. I don’t have time for your dumb jokes."
But the way his lips twitched upward told you that he didn’t mind them so much. The two of you walked in tandem now, your steps light and easy. The tension of the sparring match, the exhaustion of your bodies, all of it seemed to melt away with each passing step.
Suddenly, Bakugou reached into his pocket and pulled out a white piece of paper folded like a note, "Here.." he said dead plain and straight with a tad of rasp in his voice.
"Huh? what is this?.." you asked, taking it from his hand, about to open it while walking.
"Not here, you idiot!" Bakugou yelled out, but at a loud enough volume you know it's serious. "oh then you should have said so them"
Bakugou kept walking with no reaction until you said "but.. what is it?"
"you'll see damnnit just open it later."
You both almost reaching the dorms. He opens the door for you firdt and you walk in "thank you" "Yeah whatever.," he said low but low enough you heard exactly.
-------------------------------
After returning to your dorm room and after dinner, you tossed your bag on the floor and kicked off your shoes, feeling the exhaustion of the day settle deep in your bones. The peacefulness of your room contrasted with the chaotic energy that had filled the training grounds just hours earlier. You flopped onto your bed, still smiling to yourself as you replayed the lighthearted walk back to the dorms with Bakugou.
But then, something caught your eye.
You noticed the small folded piece of paper in your pocket he handed you.
Your mind raced for a moment, recalling how Bakugou had handed it to you before you entered the dorms. He had told you to open it later, his usual abrasive tone not giving away much. But now, curiosity gnawed at you.
You hesitated, fingers hovering over the folded edge. A note from Bakugou… After the intensity of today’s training, you couldn’t help but wonder what it could be. He wasn’t exactly the type to write heartfelt letters, and you think this was some school assignment he needed to pass on.
but you was wrong...
As you read the note, the first line..
"I’m not good with this shit, but you need to know."
Your heart skipped a beat. You reread it, unsure of what to expect next.
"You’ve been driving me crazy, Y/N. All this time, I’ve been trying to figure out why the hell you make me so… worked up."
"I can’t get you out of my head. And it’s starting to piss me off. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before, and it’s not like I want to, but it is what it is at this point, and I can't stop it."
You swallowed hard. Your heart began to race. There was no mistaking what this was—a confession. It wasn’t like anything you’d ever expected from him. You could feel your chest tighten, your fingers trembling slightly as you continued to read.
"I want to hang out with you. I’m asking you because I don’t know how to do this whole thing. If you think it’s a dumb idea, then fine, I’ll back off. But I swear, if I have to keep pretending like this isn’t driving me insane, I’ll lose it."
You let the words sink in for a moment. He’d never been the type to show vulnerability. To see this side of him, the one that seemed to struggle with his own emotions, was both unexpected and oddly… endearing.
You were stunned into silence, your mind racing. Bakugou, in his own way, had poured out something he couldn’t say aloud, choosing instead to write it all down. You knew how hard it must have been for him, and yet, there it was—bare, raw, and completely unfiltered.
You leaned back against your bed, the note still in your hands, your thoughts swirling around the words. Bakugou, the loud, brash, and unpredictable person you’d always known, was letting his guard down. And it was for you.
It was hard to deny how much you’d felt the same way. There had always been something about him—something in the way he challenged you, pushed you, and in those rare moments when his softer side peeked through his tough exterior. You couldn’t help but find yourself drawn to him, no matter how hard you tried to ignore it.
You pulled out your phone, Your fingers hovered over your phone for a moment, the thought of texting him feeling almost like an extension of his vulnerability—of your own feelings. With one last glance at the note, you picked up your phone, going to his name, fingers moving quickly over the screen as you typed your response.
"Hey I just got your note, I would love to hang out some time, you don't have to feel embarrassed of what your feeling, cause I feel like that too, Katsuki. Your not the only one going insane over this ;)"
ou hit send before you could second-guess yourself. A deep breath escaped you as you waited, staring at the message screen with your heart in your throat. You weren’t sure what to expect, but you were starting to feel like this, whatever it was between you two, had the potential to be something real.
Moments later, but wasn't long after. your phone buzzed, and you quickly opened the message.
"Really? Had me kind of worried.. Took you long enough, Well, I’ll be at the park by the train station tomorrow after school. Hope you can keep up"
You heart beat skipped.... But the park by the train station is a fair park? did he mean there or???...
You couldn't believe it but you already prepared your outfit for tomorrow. Going through your clothes as you mumble.
as you lay to rest, you can't stop thinking of tomorrow.
But you knew one thing for sure, you had feelings for him...

“And the winner of the UA Sports Festival for his third year in a row, Katsuki Bakugo!”
The frequency of Present Mic’s voice reverbs through the stadium, mixing with the roar of the crowd as the realization sets in — you lost. But you didn’t go down without a fight, pushing yourself and Bakugo to your absolute limits at almost an hour long duel. You assume he’s standing proudly on the other side of the arena, hands on his hips with that cocky smirk of his as everyone celebrates him for claiming the top spot once more…but no.
He’s running, sprinting over to you.
You’re on your feet right as bursts into your personal bubble, arms wrapping around your waist and picking you up effortlessly. He spins the two of you, a genuine boyish grin on his face underneath the dirt and sweat, his celebratory cheers echoing in your ears.
“Katsuki!” You chuckle when he puts you back on your feet. “The hell are you doing? I lost, go get your trophy!”
Bakugo shakes his head and flicks your forehead. “Already got it.”
'Open When' Letters From Bakugo
Open When It’s New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve, huh? And you’re probably sitting there like some idiot, overthinking and getting all sentimental. What the hell is wrong with you? You survived, didn’t you? That’s all that matters.
This year wasn’t perfect? Boo-freaking-hoo. Life’s not perfect, and you know that. It’s messy, it’s brutal, and it doesn’t wait for anyone to catch up. But guess what? You didn’t break. You took the hits, you got back up, and you kept going. That’s what makes you better than half the damn extras out there.
Next year? You’re not gonna waste time doubting yourself or whining about what didn’t go right. You’re gonna push harder, fight smarter, and prove to everyone—including yourself—that you’re unstoppable. And if you think for one second I’m gonna let you slack off, you’re dead wrong. I’ll be there to drag you kicking and screaming into success if I have to.
So quit moping, quit overthinking, and start acting like the badass I know you are. This year is yours to dominate, and if you don’t, I’ll make sure you regret it.
-Katsuki
P.S. If I hear one word about cheesy resolutions or ‘new year, new me’ crap, I’m gonna lose it. Be real, be better, or don’t bother.
This is chapter 2 of the series. Other parts will be on the masterlist.

synopsis: You, determined heroine with the ability to manipulate time itself, have always dreamed of becoming a hero. But each use of your quirk shortens your lifespan, a consequence you hide from everyone. When Bakugo discovers the truth, he is thrown into a panic. Struggling between his desire to protect you and his fear of losing you too soon, Bakugo must decide whether to let you continue using your quirk or do whatever it takes to stop you, even if it means breaking your heart.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: profanity. implied secrecy/deception. mild sensory discomfort (due to quirk usage).
You always told yourself you wouldn’t get too comfortable.
Not here. Not anywhere.
But sometimes… it was easy to forget. Easy to pretend.
It was a quiet day at U.A., one of those rare moments that felt like normalcy.
Most of the students had gone home since the mandate to stay on campus was lifted last month. Parents missed their kids. Families wanted to pull them back close. And honestly? You didn’t blame them.
But for you… home wasn’t an option anymore.
And for Bakugo, well, he wasn’t exactly the type to leave halfway through anything.
So, the dorms were quieter than usual.
Fewer voices echoing down the halls. Fewer plates clattering in the kitchens.
The common areas that used to be packed were now often empty, save for a few lingering students like Tokoyami, who mostly kept to himself anyway, or Sero and Kaminari, who occasionally wandered back on weekends.
Yaoyorozu was still here, though she tended to keep to the library or her own room, and Shoji and Ojiro hadn’t left either.
But mostly, it was you and Bakugo.
And today was… quiet.
The sizzle of oil in the pan filled the dorm kitchen as you stood there, squinting at the recipe Bakugo had scrawled onto a torn scrap of notebook paper.
The edges were smudged, his messy handwriting a little hard to read in certain places.
“Two cups of panko…” you muttered, dumping a ridiculous amount of breadcrumbs into a bowl. Some of it missed completely, scattering onto the counter.
“You’re doin’ it wrong,” Bakugo said, voice low and lazy as he leaned against the fridge, arms crossed.
You turned your head to glare at him. “I’m following your recipe.”
“You’re not,” he shot back. “I said two handfuls. Not two cups, dumbass.”
You stared at the paper again. “It looks like it says cups.”
“It doesn’t,” he grunted.
“Your handwriting is chicken scratch,” you huffed, brushing some of the panko into the bowl with your hand.
Bakugo’s mouth twitched. He was trying not to smirk.
“Maybe you should just make it then,” you said. “You’re the pro here.”
“Nah,” he replied easily. “You wanted to learn, so you’re learnin’. Even if you suck.”
You scoffed but felt the warmth creep up your neck anyway. This was new. This thing between you and Bakugo.
It's new enough that sometimes you were convinced it was going to shatter in your hands if you looked at it too closely.
But here you were, standing in a kitchen that smelled like hot oil and spices, getting roasted by him, and it felt… good, really good.
Comfortable. Maybe there was a little more time after all.
You turned back to the stove, frying up a piece of pork.
Bakugo made a noise behind you. You figured it was another smart-ass comment on your cooking, but when you glanced over your shoulder, he was watching you with something else in his expression.
Something softer.
“What?” you asked, trying to keep your voice casual.
He shrugged one shoulder. “Nothin.”
Liar.
You were about to push him on it when a muffled giggle echoed from the hall.
And then another.
And then, you heard the light shuffle of footsteps.
You froze for a moment, sighed, and turned off the stove.
Bakugo’s brow furrowed. “What the hell?”
“They’re back,” you said simply.
“Who?”
You gave him a look as the footsteps got closer.
“The first-years,” you clarified. “The girls. The ones who sneak into the second-year dorms every other day just to get a peek at you.”
Bakugo scowled immediately. “Tch. Annoying as shit.”
You snorted, wiping your hands on a dish towel.
“They’re gonna scream if they find you in here,” you said.
“Let ‘em scream,” he grumbled.
But you were already moving. You reached out, grabbing his wrist before he could argue, and pulled him along with you.
Bakugo didn’t even have time to swear before you activated Final Hour.
The world blurred.
Colors streaked like paint across canvas. The air shimmered. Everything slowed, everything but you. You and Bakugo were moving fast enough to be nothing but a distant whisper in the fabric of time.
It only took a second to drag him around the corner, push open the nearest unlocked door, and pull him inside a closet.
You shoved the door shut with your foot just as your quirk faded, the world snapping back into normal speed with a sharp pop in your ears.
Bakugo exhaled hard, leaning back against the wall.
“Shit,” he muttered, scrubbing a hand over his face.
You glanced at him.
He always looked a little dizzy after you used your quirk near him.
“It’s the speed,” you lied. “Messes with people’s heads a little.”
He grunted. He didn’t know the truth.
Not yet.
The muffled sounds of footsteps rushed past the door.
“Where did he go?!” one girl whispered.
“I swear I saw him in the kitchen!”
“You think he went outside?”
Their voices trailed off eventually.
You let out a breath, leaning your head back against the wall of the cramped closet. It smelled like cleaning supplies and dust.
“Idiots,” Bakugo muttered, glaring at the door like he could burn a hole through it.
You smiled faintly. “Maybe they just admire you.”
“Yeah, well, they can admire me from the other side of the campus.”
You laughed under your breath.
For a moment, neither of you moved. It was warm in here.
And then Bakugo turned his head, eyes catching the low light filtering through the doorframe.
“You’re reckless, y’know,” he said, his voice lower now.
You tilted your head. “For dragging you into a closet?”
“For everything,” he replied, gaze narrowing just a little.
“I’m fine,” you said, and it wasn’t a lie. Not exactly. You were fine now.
His hand brushed against yours in the dark.
“Still reckless,” he muttered, but there was no heat in it this time.
You leaned in a little. Maybe it was the leftover adrenaline from speeding through time. Maybe it was the way his fingers curled slowly around yours.
Or maybe it was because being close to Bakugo made you feel… something different.
Like maybe you weren’t running out of time.
Even if you were.
“You wanna stay in here all day, or…?” you asked softly.
Bakugo smirked. “Could be fun.”
Then, because you couldn’t help yourself, you kissed him.
Quick. Soft.
And for a little while, in that dark, cramped closet, with his hand on the back of your neck and his lips pressed to yours, you didn’t think about time at all.

when katsuki’s copying your snaps so you pull a move
you sat, scattered across your bedroom with your friends. you decided you should all have a sleepover because you hadn’t hung out as a group in a while. as you all continued to giggle and watch a show on your television screen, your phone lit up.
a notification from katsuki, who you were sending photos of yourself to every couple of minutes. of course, he copied them with ease and without a care in the world.
but suddenly, your eyes widened, and you grinned like the cheshire cat. you had an amazing idea. you held the camera not too far away, and flexed your arm, showing your muscle. you giggled, would katsuki really fall for the trick and send you the same pose back?
less than a minute later, he opened the photo, but tsuyu sat next to you and leaned against her arms behind her. she asked, “are you feeling okay? you don’t appear to be interacting with the group as much.”
you nodded, “i’m okay, i’m just trying to get my boyfriend to do something,” then smiled at her clueless face. she was adorable.
you gained another notification from katsuki, so you clicked it and opened the photo.
jesus christ. his muscles were huge.
his shirt was off, and his bicep had a scar on it, he was looking into the camera with a glint in his red eyes and a smirk on his face. you blushed, and your lips stretched into a smile. you saved the photo to your camera roll, and he immediately texted you a message.
‘glad you think i look that good’
you rolled your eyes and smiled, and suddenly you heard a knock on your dorm door. the room went silent, and mina picked up the remote control and paused the show you were watching. everyone looked at each other, then at you. after a couple of seconds, there was another knock at the door and a sigh. you stood up and timidly walked over to the door, then opened it.
katsuki stood there in a black tank top with a white skull in the middle and sweatpants. his muscles still stood out even in his top and pants, and he smirked down at you, then raised his eyebrows.
you looked back at the quiet room and smiled, “don’t worry guys, it’s just katsuki!”
“y/n, he probably came here to be with you. you can let him in, you don’t have to ask us.” you smiled at jiro’s words, then you squealed and jumped.
your boyfriend didn’t say many words, but you latched onto his bicep and tugged him into your room. he locked the bedroom door then you pushed him onto the bed to watch the show with the girls. you sat crisscrossed with him and switched positions frequently until you were comfortable.
once he laid down on your bed, you immediately followed after him and slung your leg and arm over his body. he groaned and gently pushed your head away when you tried to nuzzle into him, but you whined.
he grinned, knowing he was just trying to irritate you. he then placed his large hand on the back of your head and pulled it back closer to his body, and once everyone was looking away, he kissed your hair.
katsuki would never admit it, but he just wanted to lie down with you. didn’t care much to talk or show you anything, but wanted to be in your presence. you would always be the one to bring his mood up.
words weren’t needed to express his love for you, and vice versa.
but a couple of minutes later, the two of you were passed out, snuggled together in your bed. ochaco stood up from the bean bag and leaned over.
she whispered, “aww, look at those two! they’re adorable, i’ve never seen bakugo like this!” she placed her hands together and spinned.
but mina had a different idea.
“yeah, they’re cute, but eijiro can use this as blackmail, and so can i,” she joked. she took her phone out and made sure the flash was off, before smiling with malicious intent and looking at all the girls. they giggled, and she finally took the photo.
she sent it to eijiro, who texted back, ‘i always knew he was down bad for her’
hope u guys liked this one! tysm for so many likes on my first katsuki post
I'm actually crying this is so beautiful ❤️
reincarnated bakugou katsuki x reader
the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor was steady but weak, a fragile hourglass marking the dwindling moments of his life. the evening light spilled through the blinds in soft, golden slants, illuminating the deep lines etched into his weathered face. his once wild blonde hair had thinned and turned silver with time, but his grip- though weak- was still warm in your hand.
a news broadcast played on the small television mounted in the corner, the words barely registering.
“retired pro hero dynamight has not been seen in public for weeks, sparking concern among-”
you barely heard the rest. it didn’t matter. the world could wait.
katsuki let out a slow exhale, his chest rising and falling beneath the thin hospital blanket. his crimson eyes, once blazing with untamed energy, now carried the weight of decades, softened by time but still sharp as they met yours. a smirk tugged at the corners of his lips- fainter than before, but still undeniably his.
“you’re starin’ at me like i’m already dead,” he muttered, his voice rough with age but tinged with dry amusement.
you huffed a quiet laugh, squeezing his hand, the cool metal of his wedding band felt beneath your fingers. “maybe i’m just admiring you, old man.”
his thumb brushed faintly over your knuckles. he sighed, eyes growing heavier. “never thought i’d get this far, y’know? always figured i’d go out with a bang.”
“you did,” you murmured, shifting closer. “you just took your time with it.”
his smirk widened, but only slightly. his hand tightened around yours, as if grounding himself in your presence. “guess i did…” his voice grew softer, barely above a whisper. “and i got to spend it with you. that’s all that ever mattered.”
his hand, once strong enough to tear through concrete, now rested in yours with a fragile kind of warmth. the years had stolen his strength but not his fire- not the stubborn, unyielding spirit that had burned so brightly through every battle, every hardship, every damn thing life threw at him.
he had survived it all. and now, here he was, at the very end of the road with you.
katsuki let out a slow breath, his eyes half-lidded but still gazing at you, as if afraid to blink. “you’re still here,” he murmured, voice barely above a whisper.
your fingers tightened around his, anchoring him to the moment. “of course, always will be.”
“dumbass… ‘course you are.” his eyes drifted to the window, where the sun hung low, painting the sky in soft oranges and golds. “y’know… i always hated sunsets. meant the day was over. meant time was runnin’ out.”
your throat tightened. “katsuki-”
“but,” he cut in, his thumb once again brushing lazily over your skin, “you liked ‘em. so i started watching ‘em too.” his voice grew quieter, raspier. “guess they ain’t so bad.”
you blinked back the sting of tears. you wouldn’t cry. not yet. not when he was still here, still holding on.
“you always had to be difficult,” you murmured, forcing a small smile.
he let out a soft, breathy chuckle. “yeah… but you loved me anyway.”
the words settled between you, warm and final.
the heart monitor beeped- steady, but slower. his fingers twitched in your grasp, his breaths growing shallow. his gaze softened, his body sinking further into the bed, into the pull of sleep that he wouldn’t wake from.
“katsuki,” you whispered, leaning in close, pressing your forehead to his. “i love you.”
his lips parted slightly, his next breath barely there. “love you too.” his voice was nothing but air, slipping through your fingers like the last rays of sunlight.
and then-
the monitor gave one last, drawn-out beep before falling silent.
the world outside kept moving. the news kept playing. the sun kept setting. but in this moment, in this room, time stood still.
you stayed there, holding his hand. as the sky faded to night.
because love like this- like yours- didn’t end.
not really.
it would find it’s way back again. it always did.
—
the sun hung high in the sky, casting golden light over the endless grassy plain. the wind rolled through the tall grass in gentle waves, carrying the scent of earth and wildflowers. you had been walking for hours, wandering. the weight of countless lifetimes pressed against your chest, when you spotted him.
a lone figure moved across the horizon, his silhouette cutting sharply across the distance.
even from a distance, you knew.
bakugou katsuki.
your breath caught. he was different in this life- wilder, untamed. his blonde hair was slightly longer, messily tousled by the wind. a crimson cloak was slung over his shoulders, multiple necklaces consisting of fangs hung from his neck. his furs and leathers were worn from battle, dusted with the remnants of his travels. a sword hung at his hip, his posture relaxed yet ready, like a predator always on edge.
he hadn’t seen you yet.
you should’ve kept walking. should’ve turned away before he noticed. but after waiting for so long, of remembering what he has forgotten- how could you?
and then his gaze snapped to you.
you barely had time to think before he was striding toward you, footsteps firm and unwavering. his crimson eyes burned with suspicion, scanning you like a threat.
“the hell are you doin’ out here?” his voice was rough, sandpaper and steel- just as you remembered.
you swallowed, steadying yourself. “i’m just a traveler.”
his scowl deepened. “tch. yeah? then you’re a dumbass traveler.” his gaze flicked over you, sharp and assessing. “ain’t safe out here. bandits, beasts- you’re either lost or stupid.”
you were exactly where you were supposed to be.
a dry, bitter laugh almost slipped from your lips. if only he knew how many lives you had spent trying to find him again.
but he didn’t. not yet.
you met his gaze, steady. “i can handle myself.”
he scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “that so?” a smirk ghosted over his lips, dangerous and intrigued. “doubt you can keep up.”
and just like that, you were whisked away into your next adventure with your beloved. the journey that followed was nothing short of relentless.
at first, bakugou had no intention of letting you travel with him. he was a warrior, a king, and he didn’t have time to babysit some wandering traveler who didn’t know better than to walk alone through dangerous lands. but you were persistent, keeping up with him despite the grueling pace he set. he tried to shake you off, throwing warnings over his shoulder about the beasts that lurked in the forests and the mercenaries who would gut you for a single gold piece. you didn’t waver.
and so, begrudgingly, he let you stay.
your journey took you across endless grasslands and through thick, mist-covered woods. you met many people, most of which resembled your friends from previous lifetimes. a short, green-haired boy who was devoted to his knightly training. a sweet mage who used her powers to heal and make things float, a prince who could control ice and fire.
you camped beneath starlit skies, listening to the distant howls of wolves while the fire crackled between you. bakugou was guarded at first- gruff and distant, keeping conversations short, always watching you like you were hiding something.
but with time, the walls between you began to crack.
there was the time when you fought side by side against a pack of beasts, creatures with blackened fangs and glowing eyes. he had been wary of your skill, but when he saw you hold your own, his usual scowl shifted- just slightly- into something like approval.
then there was the moment you caught him staring into the fire one night, lost in thought. he never spoke of his past, but there was something in that expression that was painfully familiar- the weight of expectations, the burden of leadership. even without his memories of your past lives, he was still the same katsuki.
and slowly, something changed.
he started waiting for you before setting off in the mornings. tossing you extra rations without a word. grumbling about how you were too soft-hearted when you insisted on helping a lost child in a ruined village, only to turn around and build the kid a fire himself.
and when you collapsed after days of travel without rest, he had cursed under his breath, scooping you up into his arms without hesitation.
“dumbass,” he muttered, adjusting his arm around you as he carried you, his grip firm and warm against your skin. “you don’t know when to quit, huh?” but his voice was softer now, no longer the harsh growl it used to be.
you found yourself looking at him differently. his gruff demeanor, the way he carried himself like a lone wolf had always intrigued you, but now it felt different- like the walls between you were slowly crumbling with every shared glance, every quiet night spent together.
one afternoon, as you traveled through the thick and dark forest at the edge of a kingdom, you were ambushed by a group of bandits. they came from the trees, their swords drawn, but bakugou was ready.
with a roar, he lunged into action, taking down the first two with brutal efficiency that you had come to expect from him. but then, one of the bandits turned toward you, his blade aimed at your chest. you barely had time to react, your own sword drawn, but before you could strike, bakugou was there- his fist slamming into the bandit’s face with a force that sent him flying into a tree.
“you okay?” his voice was low, the familiar scowl back on his face, but there was something else in his eyes- something deeper, protective.
“i’m fine, thank you,” you said, though your pulse still raced. “but you’re reckless.”
that night, as you sat beside the fire, you couldn’t help but notice how close he had gotten. not just physically, but emotionally. the long silences that had once stretched were now filled with casual teasing, shared laughter, and the occasional quiet conversation that stretched into the night.
he started to ask you more about your past, though never prying too deep. when you mentioned your travels, he listened intently, his usual bravado replaced by something softer, more curious.
one evening, you found yourselves at the edge of a cliff, watching the sunset paint the sky in streaks of orange and purple. bakugou stood next to you, arms crossed, but this time, he didn’t seem so distant.
“you ever stop to think about what you’re doing here?” he asked, his voice quiet.
you glanced to him, surprised by the vulnerability in his tone. “what do you mean?”
“i mean… why are you still here? with me, i mean. not everyone’s cut out for this kind of life. it’s not easy.” he shifted slightly, his gaze faraway.
you smiled softly, the memories of your past life flickering at the edges of your thoughts. “i think i’m exactly where i need to be.”
his eyes flickered to you, narrowing slightly as though trying to decipher your meaning. but then, without a word, he reached over, brushing a stray lock of hair from your face, his fingers lingering just a moment longer than necessary.
you froze, feeling the connection between you stir once more, and you didn’t pull away. neither of you said anything, but in that quiet moment, it felt like the world had shifted.
and with every passing day, the distance between you- the one he had built, the one you had tried so hard to bridge- was slowly disappearing.
he had started to remember, in the smallest ways.
you were sitting by the fire, cleaning your sword after another skirmish with a band of raiders. bakugou was sharpening his blade beside you, his usual scowl etched across his face, but there was something different in his eyes- something far away.
“oi,” he muttered, breaking the silence. “you ever feel like… like this isn’t the first time we’ve done this?”
you paused mid-motion, your fingers tightening around the hilt of your sword. you glanced up at him, trying to hide the flutter of your heart.
“what do you mean?” you asked, though you already knew.
He shifted. “i dunno. it’s just… every time we fight together, or when we get quiet like this, it feels… familiar. like i’ve known ya longer than the past year.”
you swallowed hard, forcing yourself to keep your expression neutral. “maybe you just got used to traveling with me.”
but deep down, you knew the truth.
it wasn’t just the time he had spent with you. it was something deeper- something he was starting to sense, like the lingering pull of a forgotten memory.
a few days passed, and the feeling seemed to grow stronger. every so often, you’d catch him staring at you, like he was seeing something more than just the person beside him. one evening, as the sun dipped behind the mountains, bakugou spoke, his voice unusually quiet. his eyes were narrowed, his lips pressed into a tight line as if he were grappling with something just beyond his reach. “i’ve seen you before… but where?”
that night, as you both lay beneath the stars, the fire crackling softly, bakugou’s sleep was fitful. he tossed and turned, his brow furrowed in frustration.
when he woke the next morning, he didn’t immediately look at you. he sat up, running a hand through his disheveled hair, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
“i had a dream,” he muttered, more to himself than you. “a dream about… us. it felt real. like we’ve been through so many things together before.”
your heart raced. you remained still, waiting for him to continue.
“it wasn’t just some damn dream. it was real. i don’t remember everything, but i know… i know i’ve been with you before, haven’t i?”
you could feel the weight of his words, the hesitation, the confusion in his voice. and yet, despite the uncertainty, there was something else- something that made you know that he was starting to remember.
for the first time since meeting him in this life, you reached out, placing a hand gently on his arm. his muscles tensed at your touch, but he didn’t pull away.
“yes,” you said softly, your voice trembling with emotion. “we’ve been together before. more times than either of us can count.”
bakugou turned to face you then, his eyes wide and the usual fire dimming in them for a moment. “why can’t i remember? why does it feel like i’m losing my mind?”
you swallowed the lump in your throat, reaching out to cup his face in your hands. “maybe it’s not time for you to remember completely yet. but it will be, eventually. i promise.”
for a long moment, he didn’t say anything. he simply stared at you, as if searching for something in your eyes- something that would make sense of the chaos inside of him.
and then, without a word, he leaned forward, his lips brushing against yours in a kiss that was tentative at first, unsure. but as you kissed him back, something shifted. the connection between you, long buried beneath layers of forgotten lives, began to resurface, like a flood of memories fighting to break free.
when he pulled back, his breath was uneven, and his hands trembled slightly as they hovered at your sides.
“i remember you,” he whispered, his voice raw. “i remember you… even if i can’t remember everything.”
you smiled, feeling the weight of years of love and loss that led to this moment. “it’s okay. you don’t have to remember everything right now. we have all the time we need.”
years passed, and the world around you both seemed to change, even though the battles and struggles never truly stopped. the two of you, side by side, had seen countless faces come and go, witnessed victories and losses alike.
the bond between you and bakugou had only deepened, but time, as it always did, wore on. you both had grown, in ways both subtle and grand, shaped by everything you’d endured together. bakugou was still the warrior he had always been, strong and fierce, but the fire that once burned so brightly within him was now tempered by the passing of the years.
one evening, as the sky painted itself in shades of pink and purple, you stood together at the edge of the very same cliff from years ago, overlooking a valley. the winds had settled, and there was nothing but the hum of the earth, as if everything had come full circle. bakugou stood beside you, his posture strong, but the weight of the years was beginning to show.
“do you ever think… that maybe we’re finally done with all of this?” he asked, his voice quiet but carrying the years of uncertainty and battles fought. his gaze was distant, looking at the horizon, but his words were for you alone.
you took a deep breath, feeling the wind sweep across your face, tasting the salt of the distant sea. “maybe. but i think we’ll always find something else. something worth fighting for.”
he chuckled softly, though it was laced with an edge of something unreadable. “always you, huh?” he muttered under his breath.
you smiled softly, turning to face him. “always you, too.”
and so, you and the barbarian king looked out across the vast horizon, and you knew that although this life might be winding down, the end of this era was just another beginning waiting to unfold.
—
the blaring sun in the sky casted it’s golden glow over the vast expanse of the ocean as your ship sliced through the waves. your crew worked in rhythm, their shouts and laughter carried by the salty breeze as they adjusted sails and checked the rigging. you stood at the helm, your fingers gripping the wheel with practiced ease, eyes scanning the horizon.
you’d been sailing for days now, the winds favorable and the sea calm. it wasn’t until the sun dipped lower that you saw it. a ripple in the water, far off in the distance but growing closer. at first, you thought it was perhaps some large fish breaching the surface. but then, you saw him.
a flash of pale golden hair broke through the waves, followed by the sleek and powerful form of a merman. he was a striking contrast to the dark water, with glistening crimson scales that shimmered like polished gemstones. his tail flicked in the sea, the sharp movement sending waves against the ship’s hull.
but it wasn’t the sheer power of the creature that caught your attention. it was the way he moved, the way he looked at you. his eyes locked onto yours, and your heart swelled knowing that you had finally come across your love yet again in this life. your katsuki.
the merman’s lips curled into a smirk as he swam closer, the water parting as if he owned the sea himself. his muscular form stopped just short of the ship, hovering in the water as he regarded you with a mix of curiosity and challenge.
“so you’re the captain of the crimson tempest, huh?” his voice was deep and rough, carrying the weight of the ocean itself. he eyed you with a critical gaze. “i’ve been hearing rumors about ya. thought i’d come see for myself.”
you felt the familiar rush of recognition, but you knew better than to show too much. he didn’t remember yet- as usual. the bond between you that transcended time, that only you knew, was still buried deep within him. but here, in this new life, you had to tread carefully.
you leaned against the ship’s wheel, matching his gaze with calm confidence, despite the racing pulse in your chest. “what’s it to you, merman?” you asked, keeping your voice steady despite the longing that you felt deep inside. “i don’t know what rumors you’ve heard, but they’re just that- rumors.”
he didn’t falter, though something flickered in his intense red eyes. it was there, something beneath the surface that he couldn’t quite grasp, but you could feel it. you could always feel it when he was near.
“you don’t look like the kind of captain i’d expect,” he said, his smirk widening into something dangerous. “but i guess you don’t need to look the part to be effective, right?”
you chuckled darkly, a small smirk of your own pulling at your lips. “i’m plenty effective, merman. you’d do well to remember that.”
you saw a flicker of recognition, a glimmer of something you both had shared before. but it vanished quickly, swallowed by the vastness of the sea between you.
“maybe i will,” he muttered, though the words seemed to hold a different meaning. his lips parted, as if to say more, but instead, he just gave you a short nod.
then, without another word, bakugou dove beneath the water, his powerful form disappearing into the depths, leaving only the gentle ripples of the sea in his wake.
a few days later, you steered the crimson tempest into a small, sheltered cove. the crew had already begun preparations to unload. the ship finally came to a halt against the dock, and after doing your part of the unloading you made your way off the ship and onto the sandy beach of the cove.
and then you heard the sound of water splashing, too rhythmic to be a simple wave. your instincts kicked in and you turned just in time to see a flash of pale blonde hair rising from the water’s surface.
his presence was commanding as usual, and for the briefest of moments, you forgot about all of your responsibilities as captain. all that mattered was him- the katsuki you had fallen in love with over and over again.
he pulled himself onto a nearby rock, water dripping off his body. his gaze never left you, intense and unreadable. the usual cocky smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, and you could feel the pull of his presence like an invisible thread between you both.
“you seem to be everywhere i go, captain,” he said, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down your spine. “figured i’d find you here too.”
you couldn’t help but smile at his words, but beneath the teasing tone, there was something more- an underlying tension, an unspoken understanding that had been brewing ever since your first meeting. it was as if he was beginning to recognize something too, even if he didn’t have the words for it yet. even if he didn’t remember.
“you’ve been following me,” you replied, your voice calm but with a hint of amusement. “what is it you want, merman?”
“what i want?” he let out a low chuckle, his voice like the rolling waves. “i’m not sure yet. maybe i just like seeing if i can catch your attention.”
“well,” you said, your tone steady but not without a trace of amusement, “it looks like you’ve caught it.” you will always have it.
you took a step closer, the air between you crackling with an undeniable tension, as if the universe itself were drawing you together again. the warmth of the sun on your skin and the distant sound of your crew working on the ship felt like a distant hum compared to the pulse of energy between you and the merman. it was magnetic, powerful, and for a brief moment, you could have sworn you saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes.
he studied you for a long moment, his expression unreadable, but there was something in the way he held your gaze that made your heart race. “you’re different,” he said finally, his voice almost quiet. “can’t put my finger on it.”
you almost laughed at the irony, knowing all too well what that something was. you weren’t just another face to him. you were the one he had always come back to, again and again, in every lifetime.
“i think we’ll figure it out,” you replied softly, the undertone of promise hanging in the air.
and then, as if he had just come to a silent conclusion, his smirk returned, but this time it wasn’t teasing. it was real. a promise.
“alright then, captain” he said, his voice low and steady. “i think i’ll stick around. for a while.”
and so, the tide carried on, as it always had, bringing you together once more, just as it always would.
—
the city stretched out before you like a jagged labyrinth of glowing neon signs and towering skyscrapers, the horizon obscured by the haze of pollution and constant movement. neo-musutafu, a city that never slept, pulsed with the rhythm of the future, its streets crawling with the lost, the desperate, and the dangerous. high above, the hum of drones filled the air, ensuring that no one forgot who controlled the night.
you stood at the edge of the rooftop, your gaze fixed on the darkness beyond the flashing lights. the winds howled, carrying the smells of the city- oil, rain, and something darker. below, the streets were alive with a mixture of humans and aliens, some here to live, some here to fight. your job? to ensure the latter didn’t survive.
you were a hunter, part of a covert division tasked with eradicating alien threats before they had a chance to invade. but unlike the other hunters, you didn’t follow the company line blindly. your methods were efficient, precise, and without mercy- traits that had earned you respect, but also enemies. the company you worked for was one of many, and all had their own way of dealing with the extraterrestrial threats. your company? a well-oiled machine, protecting humanity at all costs.
it wasn’t glamorous, but it was necessary.
as you adjusted the grip on your weapons, the sharp hiss of your comm device broke the silence. “hunter 19, we have a target. a class-4 alien near the central district. immediate extraction is required.”
you didn’t need to be told twice. in this line of work, hesitation was a luxury no one could afford. strapping your weapons securely, you made your way down the building to the streets below. your mind was already working through the logistics where the alien would strike, how to contain the threat, and the quickest route to the rendezvous point.
this life had worn down both your heart and mind. though the memories of your past lives with your beloved lingered, the countless alien lives you had taken- the blood spilled in the name of duty- had slowly suffocated your spirit, leaving a shadow over your thoughts that you couldn’t shake. for once, you did not go out of your way to find bakugou. he was a dear, but faraway memory. a memory that was too good for someone like you.
you arrived at the outskirts of the central district, the city’s neon lights flickering in the distance like the heartbeat of a restless giant. the alien was close now. the familiar thump of your combat boots on the cold asphalt was a stark contrast to the chaos that simmered just beyond the horizon. you didn’t have to be told twice. every instinct you had honed in your years as a hunter kicked into gear.
the silence stretched, heavy and thick. then, without warning, the alien struck, it’s massive form tearing through the shadows. a blur of movement, its skin slick and black as it lunged toward you. your reflexes took over, but as you dodged, something about the alien’s speed and strength unsettled you. this wasn’t a typical battle.
the alien wasn’t going to make this easy.
the alien roared as it stumbled back, its claws slicing through the air just inches from your skin. you had barely managed to evade its strike, your weapon raised, ready to retaliate when the sudden sound of footsteps broke through the silence.
a shadow darted into your peripheral vision. a figure, hooded and cloaked in dark attire, lunged toward the alien with lightning speed, and in a series of fluid movements, the creature was brought to the ground.
you froze for a moment, startled by the intruder’s sudden appearance. before you could react, the hooded figure twisted, driving a sharp blade straight through the alien’s chest. it let out one last guttural screech before its body went limp.
the hooded figure stood still, chest rising and falling with steady breaths, the alien’s blood dripping from his blade. the streetlights above flickered briefly as if even the city itself had taken a collective breath.
you snapped out of your shock, clenching your fists. your voice rang out, sharp and scathing as you strode toward him. “what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
the hooded man didn’t flinch at your approach, but his back remained to you, his posture tense. you could tell he wasn’t afraid, and that pissed you off even more. your tone was cold, but there was an edge of frustration you couldn’t hide.
“you think you can just waltz in and kill like that?” your voice grew louder, shaking with the weight of your own guilt. “you’ve got a life on your hands now, a soul you’ve taken. is that really what you want?”
the anger bubbled up inside you, a mix of protectiveness and the instinct to save others from the same burden you carried. your gaze narrowed at the man’s back. “you don’t know what it’s like to have blood stain your hands, do you? to have to live with it, knowing you’ve taken a life… i don’t want that for you. i don’t want you to feel the same damn thing i do.”
the hooded man stood motionless for a long moment, before he slowly lowered the blade and turned toward you, his posture stiff. you couldn’t see his face- just the dark outline beneath the hood- but there was something in his presence, something familiar. it made your stomach twist, a feeling you couldn’t place.
and then, he slowly removed his hood.
the world seemed to stop for a beat, the neon lights casting a glow as your eyes locked onto his face.
those same eyes.
“…(y/n).”
your name. he had said it.
he had never remembered you first before; it was always you who had to find him. but now, the man you had loved through countless lives, the one you had adored over and over again, stood before you.
and you were a monster. he had found you, but at what cost?
you did not reach out to hold him, you did not run into his embrace. instead, you averted your gaze, shielding your eyes from him.
“i’m sorry,” you said, fists clenching by your sides. “i’m not the one you once loved.”
bakugou’s expression twisted, his jaw tightening as if the words stung more than they should have. his eyes, fierce and unwavering, bore into yours as he took a step closer.
“don’t say that,” he growled, his voice low, almost dangerous. “i remember you. from the moment i was born in this life, i remembered all of our past lives. every damn moment of them. i’ve been searching everywhere for you.”
he paused, his chest rising with each breath as if trying to steady the storm building inside him. his hand shot out, grabbing your wrist with a force that made you flinch, pulling you toward him.
“i don’t give a shit about what you’ve done. none of that matters. it will always be you. it’s always been you, no matter how many lives we’ve lived.” his eyes softened, but the intensity remained. “you’re mine, and no way in hell am i letting you go.”
tears streamed down your face as you struggled in his grip, desperate to break free. “you don’t understand,” your voice cracked, raw with pain. “i have a trail of blood behind me, lives i’ve destroyed… everywhere i go, i carry their ghosts. i’ve hurt so many, katsuki! i’m not the same person!”
katsuki’s grip softened, but only for a moment before he pulled you into his chest, wrapping his arms around you tightly. you felt the heat of his body, the steadiness of his heartbeat, and for a second, it grounded you in a way nothing else could. his voice was low but firm, holding an edge of desperation.
“don’t tell me you’re not the same person,” he murmured into your hair. “i’ll fall in love with you every damn time, no matter what you’ve done or how many lives you’ve taken. you’re still the one i’m meant to be with. always have been.”
he pulled back slightly, enough to look you in the eyes. “you can carry your burdens all you want, but you don’t have to carry them alone. i’m right here, and i’m not going anywhere.”
your breath hitched as his words sank in, the weight of them crashing down on you like a wave. the tears continued to fall, but this time, they weren’t just from pain- they were from a relief so deep, it left you breathless. you slowly lifted your gaze to his, meeting the intensity of his eyes, and for the first time in this life, the past ones, everything seemed to fall into place.
the countless lives, the struggles, the distance between you- it had all led you here, to this moment. and no matter what had happened before, no matter the paths you had walked, there was one undeniable truth that echoed through the core of your being: you were meant to be together.
you trembled as you cupped his face with shaking hands, your voice barely above a whisper, but it carried the weight of everything you’d felt across all lifetimes.
“katsuki,” you breathed, your heart pounding. “i… i love you. i always have, and i always will.”
his thumb traced the tear stains on your cheeks before lifting your chin, his gaze softening, but the passion in his eyes was unmistakable.
“i know,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “i love you too, always. every lifetime, i find you. and i’ll keep finding you.”
in that moment, everything that had ever separated you- every pain, every fight, every lifetime- faded away. the world around you disappeared as you stood together, hearts in sync.
the universe had tried to pull you apart, had tried to erase the love you shared, but it had failed. you were soulmates- bound together in ways beyond time and death. no matter what came next, nothing would keep you apart.
you both leaned in, closing the distance between you, your lips finding his in a kiss that sealed your fate. the kiss was not just a promise for this life, but for every life that had come before and every one that would follow.
and as the kiss deepened, as his arms tightened around you, you both knew- the story wasn’t over. it had never truly ended. it had only just begun.

You had always joked that Bakugo wasn’t the most romantic guy. He didn’t shower you with flowery compliments or grand gestures, but you knew better.
His love showed itself in quieter ways, ones that made your heart skip a beat when you realized just how much attention he paid to you.
It started small—too small to notice at first. Like how he always handed you the mug you liked best when y'all had coffee or how he seemed to know exactly where you left you keys before you even asked.
“Lucky guess,” he’d mutter when you pointed it out, but there was no mistaking the faint smirk tugging at his lips.
Bakugo leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. “Wear the green sweater,” he said casually.
One day, you were running late for work, frantically searching through your closet. “Why is everything I want to wear in the laundry?” You groaned, yanking hangers back and forth.
You paused, turning to him in surprise. “The green one? You mean the one with the loose sleeves I got last year?”
Your jaw dropped. “How do you even know that?”
“Yeah. You always wear it when you’ve got long meetings,” he replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
He shrugged. “You fidget with the sleeves when you’re stressed. Look, just wear it and stop making me late, dumbass.”
“Don’t overthink it,” he’d grumble when you called him out, his ears tinged red.
Moments like that kept piling up. He remembered every little thing you told him, from how you liked your tea to the name of your favorite childhood toy.
Once, you casually mentioned a song you used to love but hadn’t heard in years. The next time y'all went on a drive, it was queued up in the playlist.
But the moment that truly floored came during a quiet evening at home. You were curled up on the couch, flipping through an old photo album your mother had sent over. Bakugo glanced over your shoulder, his sharp eyes taking in every detail.
“That’s the bracelet you lost, isn’t it?” he asked, pointing to a picture of you as a kid, wearing a simple silver bangle.
“You talked about it when we first started dating. Said your grandma gave it to you,” he replied, almost nonchalantly. Then, with a small, rare softness in his voice, he added, “It meant a lot to you.”
Her eyes widened. “How do you remember that? I barely even mentioned it!”
You turned to him, overwhelmed by the realization of how much he truly paid attention to you. “You’re scarily observant, you know that?”
He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, well, someone’s gotta remember all the stuff you keep forgetting.”
But deep down, you knew the truth: Bakugo’s sharp eyes weren’t just for battle or strategy. They were his way of showing love—by noticing, remembering, and cherishing every little thing about you.

synopsis: he owns the kitchen—until you quietly claim a corner of it, and he is enjoying it more than he lets on.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ notes: been gone a while. had ran out of ideas but here we go
you don’t cook often.
not because you can’t, but because he always beats you to it.
katsuki treats his kitchen like a battlefield—controlled, efficient, and his.
he moves like he’s been doing it his whole life, sleeves pushed up, jaw set in focus, the faint smell of spices clinging to his shirt even after he’s done.
it’s something he enjoys, something he’s good at, and he rarely lets you lift a finger when it comes to meals.
so when you tell him, “i made something for you,” you expect a scoff, a teasing remark, maybe even a lecture about how he should be the one cooking for you.
what you don’t expect is for him to hesitate.
it’s barely noticeable, but you catch it—the slight pause, the flicker in his expression before his arms cross over his chest.
“you what?”
you huff, nudging the bowl toward him, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. “i cooked something for you.”
his red eyes flick down, scanning the dish like he’s assessing its structural integrity.
it’s nothing fancy—just something simple you put together while he was out. but his fingers twitch slightly, like he’s holding himself back from reaching for it immediately.
“…what’s the occasion?”
you blink at him. “nothing. just wanted to.”
his brows furrow slightly, like he doesn’t quite understand the concept of someone cooking for him just because they felt like it.
but after a moment, he exhales through his nose, jaw shifting as he grabs the chopsticks.
“you didn’t have to, y’know.”
you smile, resting your chin on your hand. “I know.”
he doesn’t say anything else before taking a bite.
the first one is quick—just a taste.
then the second comes almost immediately after, slower this time, more thoughtful. his chewing slows just a fraction—contemplative. his brows furrow, but not in a bad way.
he’s thinking.
then, without a word, he goes for a third bite.
you watch him, amusement curling at your lips. “well?”
he chews, swallows, and sets his chopsticks down with a casual motion.
“…it’s good.”
you stare.
then squint.
“just good?”
his ears tint the faintest shade of pink, and he scowls, looking at anything but you. “what, you want a damn trophy?”
you snort, shaking your head. “a simple ‘thanks’ would work.”
his mouth presses into a tight line, and for a second, you think he might just grumble his way out of this. but then, just barely above a mutter—
“thanks.”
your grin widens, warmth blooming in your chest as he goes back to eating, and even though he doesn’t say anything else, you don’t miss the way he finishes every last bite.
it happens again.
not immediately, but enough that it starts to become a habit.
one night, you make an extra portion without thinking, setting it aside without a second thought.
another night, you leave something for him when you know he’s coming home late, the dish waiting on the counter like a quiet reassurance that he isn’t alone.
you don’t always expect a reaction, but you always get one—even if it’s just a muttered “’preciate it” or the way his shoulders shift ever so slightly when he sees what you’ve left for him.
and then, one evening, you catch him sneaking extra bites.
you’re pretending not to watch, seated at the kitchen counter with a drink in hand, your body angled just enough to keep him in your peripheral vision.
katsuki eats like he always does—quick but deliberate, each motion efficient, no wasted movements.
his back is straight, his expression unreadable as he makes his way through the plate of curry you set in front of him.
then, the second you turn your head—
a blur of movement. a quiet clink.
your eyes snap back to him.
katsuki freezes, chopsticks halfway to his mouth, a second helping clearly stolen from the pot sitting on the stove.
his jaw tightens as he chews, his expression carefully neutral, but you don’t miss the way his fingers tighten slightly around his chopsticks.
your brows lift. “did you just steal extra?”
a beat of silence.
then, his red eyes flick up to yours, his chewing slowing slightly as he glares, unimpressed. “what?”
your gaze drops to the now slightly emptier pot.
a slow grin spreads across your face.
“you did.”
he scowls, shoving another bite into his mouth like it’ll somehow erase the evidence. “it’s good. so what?”
you rest your chin on your palm, amusement flickering in your eyes. “you could just ask for more, you know.”
he clicks his tongue, gaze flicking to the side, suddenly finding the tiled floor far more interesting. “dunno what you’re talkin’ about.”
after that, you start paying more attention.
to the things he likes, the things he doesn’t say outright but that you pick up on anyway.
you learn that he prefers meals fresh off the stove, that he eats fast but never wastes a single bite. that he loves spice—but sometimes, just sometimes, it even gets to him.
you catch the way he drinks more water when it does, the slight furrow of his brows when the heat creeps up on him.
“you good?” you ask once, watching as he takes another gulp of water.
he clicks his tongue, setting the glass down with more force than necessary. “’course I’m good.”
you just shake your head, amused.
even when he’s exhausted, dragging himself through the door after a long shift, he still eats whatever you make. no complaints, no hesitations.
just a quiet moment where his shoulders loosen and he sits down without a word.
and no matter how much he huffs and grumbles, no matter how much he acts like it’s nothing—
he never says no to your cooking.
one night, he comes home later than usual.
you’re already half-asleep on the couch, curled under a blanket, when you hear the door open.
heavy boots thud against the floor, the familiar sound of him kicking them off near the entrance. there’s a rustle of fabric as he shrugs off his hero jacket, the soft clink of his gear being set aside.
then—
a pause.
you blink groggily, rubbing your eyes as you push yourself upright. “katsuki?”
he doesn’t answer right away. just stands there, his gaze fixed on the covered dish waiting on the counter.
his shoulders loosen slightly, the exhaustion still clinging to him, but there’s something softer in the way he moves now, like the sight of the meal has pulled some of the weight off his shoulders.
“…you made somethin’?”
you yawn, stretching your arms above your head. “yeah. thought you might be hungry.”
he doesn’t say anything at first. just strides toward you, stopping in front of the couch, and before you can react—warm lips press against the top of your head.
it’s quick, fleeting, but it lingers in the way his breath ruffles your hair right after.
his voice is quieter this time. “thanks.”
your chest feels light, a soft warmth settling beneath your ribs, but before you can process it, he’s already moving again. he grabs the plate, lifts the lid, and takes in the meal.
then, he makes his way back to you, dropping onto the couch beside you.
his thigh presses against yours, his body radiating warmth, and then an arm drapes over your shoulders, pulling you in.
you blink, a little surprised, but you don’t resist, sinking into him as he picks up his spoon.
he eats in steady bites, quiet, comfortable. then, without a word, he scoops up another bite and holds the spoon out to you.
you hesitate for half a second. “you don’t have to—”
“just eat.”
you huff, but open your mouth anyway, letting him feed you.
the flavors settle on your tongue, familiar and warm, but you barely notice because katsuki’s watching you now, eyes flicking over your face like he’s waiting for your reaction.
you chew, swallow, then smile a little. “tastes good.”
his mouth twitches, and he clicks his tongue, looking away. “’course it does. you made it.”

Requested by Anon: pranking your ProHero boyfriend Bakugo
As much as you loved your boyfriend you couldn't help but enjoy his misery.
It was Bakugo's Friday, and he just wanted to get home and eat a warm meal with his girlfriend. Which he did, like clockwork the sound of his gauntlets hitting the floor alerted you of his arrival.
You ran to greet him, helping him take off his gear as you pestered him to wash up before he touched anything. You had spent the last hour cleaning and your efforts weren't going to be ruined by gunpowder and smoke.
It was a routine for the both of you, Bakugo would quietly unwind before seeking you out as you set out the food for each other.
He'd come up from behind and hold you in his arms as you put together the finishing touches. It was warm and comforting, the little life you had together was always moving so this certain time it was nice to find silence.
Your boyfriend went to bed first, keeping his strict schedule of sleeping early even on his day offs. Kissing you on the head and giving you his love.
Nothing out of the cycle, you'd crawl into bed with him not soon after and both wake up tomorrow to start all the weekend.
So imagine Bakugo's surprise when he's abruptly shaken from his slumber, the words you say to him sound like he has cotten in his ears.
"Babe. Babe! Wake up there's someone here." You whisper, shaking him awake as you hold your phone in your hand.
"Huh?" Bakugo sits up dazed, looking around your room confused and tired as he swayed. His eyes squinting to stay open as he looked up at you.
"I think I heard someone in the house! Go check it out!" You said, pulling the blanket away from his body.
He doesn't say anything, still half dead as he hastily gets out of bed. His steps clumsy as he looks between you and the door, still not noticing the phone in your hand.
"Here take this for your safety." You shove your limited addition Red Riot plushy into his hands as you push him towards the door.
He doesn't think twice before heading out.
Even if half asleep his body still operated as if he was working. His palm raised in case he encountered an attack and the stuffed hero was gripped tightly to his chest for protection.
You followed behind him, still recording as you tried to stifle your laughter. The closer he got to the main room the more he woke up, glancing around cautiously before looking down at his "shield." Confused by the random stuffy in his arm he looked behind him, and staring straight at him was your phone and you holding your mouth to stay quiet.
It took him a second to put comprehend everything but one he did you were screwed.
"IS THERE EVEN AN INTRUDER?!" He yelled finally catching on to the ever silent house. That's when you started cackling, heaving as you couldn't believe the prank worked.
Your top hero boyfriend who many feared was standing in the middle of the hallway in his matching pajama pants and a Red Riot plushy attached to him.
You let out a puff of air as he chucked the plushy at him. Before sprinting after you, realizing you were in danger you kicked into high gear and ran to your shared room.
Running to hide under the covers, giggling as wrestled you to the surface.
