we've been talking about how Alicent's children all represent a different part of her (her rage, her lost innocence, her loathing) and I think it's very poignant that, because Daeron was raised away from the Red Keep, he is able to reflect her untampered kindness. He reflects the version of Alicent that existed before Viserys carved her out and left her hollow. As much as she fears herself as a corrupting force, I think Daeron's supposed gentle nature is a reminder that she herself was corrupted. She did onto her children what was done onto her. Her gentle heart and her kindness had no place in King's Landing- she had to abandon it. And so she sends Daeron away.
