this is such an interesting topic for sureeee. I understand my existence in scale is so completely different to the people I idolise but I also try to see them just as human beings that are socially communicated to us in a different way.

that being said, I think I enjoy interacting with the fandom so much that we have our own little world that orbits around those people- meaning it’s so difficult to even consider interaction with the celebrity themselves.

The idea of meeting my idols kinda weirds me out tbh, I don’t know whether I’d want to even engage in a “normal environment” in fear that you’re intruding their personal space and time. Especially when so much of it is devoted to entertaining us.

And maybe celebs look at our platforms the same way- they don’t want to intrude in our safe places, which is what tumblr has become for me.

do i excessively share my thoughts about the content that I consume on a very public platform? yes. do I also never ever want the creators of said content to be aware of or god forbid interact with said content? also yes.

the idea that people want to be observed by their favourite celebrities is incomprehensible to me. can you imagine being on a platform like twitter where creators directly judging you for your opinions is not only possible but culturally acceptable? unthinkable.

that’s why i am on tumblr. this is a safe space. no self respecting celebrity would use this hellsite in an official capacity, and its lack of verified accounts and general anonymity would make it difficult anyway. the author might not be dead but the doors are barricaded.

also Chloe x Halle deserved better. Grammys do better.

what makes this genuinely worse is that people are so quick label us “crazy fangirls” who are upset that bts didnt win an award. it isnt the losing that we are angry at most, its the racism culture, cancel culture of poc and xenophobia culture manifested by western organisations who use poc for clout, views and hype then drop them the second they need too. dont forget, this isnt just about bts. this is also about bad bunny and j balvin who were in that category too. as well as artists like zayn malik and the weeknd.

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.
