Life without Y/n seemed- no was so unfulfilling, it felt incomplete, the boys were so upset that they refused to eat anything that wasn’t Y/n’s cooking leading Hyunjin to have to remember recipes and dishes that the woman made to satiate his kids

Hyori wasn’t any better, she had began teething and no matter what Somi nor Hyunjin tried, the girl would scream for hours until she screamed herself to sleep, it was noticeable to everyone, the Hwang’s needed Y/n

While the kids showed their hearts on their sleeves, Hyunjin may have been the worst of them all, his heart genuinely felt like there was a Y/n sized hole missing, and it was all his fault

There was always a huge possibility that Y/n would end up pregnant, he never wore condoms and she wasn’t on any type of birth control, if anything he should’ve been prepping for the inevitable baby sooner

He couldn’t help but cry at the idea of the woman who he and his kids loved dearly, leaving and cutting them out of her life for good, not only that, preventing the new Hwang baby from getting to know its father and siblings

But Hyunjin forgot, one rather major detail, the whole reason that made him lose him mind at the knowledge of his mistress being pregnant, and it was his own wife, Somi

Somi may have been distant, but she wasn’t dumb, she knew that something was going on with her husband and the nanny because, while the kids being upset with her leaving had plenty reasons to be understandable, it didn’t make sense for Hyunjin to be devastated

Somi wasn’t going to say anything to reveal that she knew, it wasn’t her can of worms to open and if he was man enough to cheat, he would have to man up and be man enough to tell

“Come on Jaejae, can you please just eat? It’s literally your favorite” Somi watched as the boy threw the bowl of cinnamon toast crunch across the room screaming for his llama, feeling overwhelmed and annoyed with her youngest son, Somi sent him to his bedroom

“If you don’t like something you don’t throw it, am I clear young man?” Hyungjae stormed off, screaming about how he wanted llama, and that made the baby of the house scream as well, and much to her surprise, the oldest son began to whine too, talking about how not having Y/n wake him up hurt his heart

“Oh my god, can you all stop crying? Y/n will be back, stop screaming before I put you guys in timeout” Somi grabbed her youngest daughter who strongly detested her, and sobbed louder, making the already annoyed woman, pissed

So she placed the now ten month old down in her seat, screaming for her husband to deal with their kids because she couldn’t, not only were they all screaming, they weren’t listening to her which was something she hated more than off brand designer bags, there was almost nothing she hated more than off brand bags

Hyunjin walked in, calming his sons down and picking Hyori up from her high chair, and while her crying failed to stop, it definitely went down some decibels “I got it Somi, just go, it’s not like you’re home anyways”

Somi scoffed, not liking how she caught a stray from her husband, in fact she was mad he was acting like he didn’t know why their kids where so fussy, and while she had no filter, she wasn’t going to have that talk in front of her kids

“We’ll talk Hwang, I need to have a word with you”

That talk would come three days later, the kids refused to settle down and so Hyunjin’s parents came to pick them up so that the overwhelmed parents could have some time to themselves

But with the way Somi stared at Hyunjin with her eyes slanted with disdain, Hyunjin started to believe that he would have three Hyori’s screaming rather than be alone with his wife

“I want a divorce”

Somi said it so quickly and calmly that Hyunjin almost believed that he misheard the older woman, but when his eyes looked down on the papers that she slammed on their kitchen table, he knew that she was serious

“What why?” Hyunjin wasn’t upset, in fact he was happy that she was the one who filed, her signature was already on the papers, and all he had to do was place his, but it seemed so sudden from her end

“I know you’ve been fucking Y/n- wait let me finish i’m not done speaking damn’it, but i’m not mad, matter of fact i’m more mad that you made a pregnant woman leave, why did she leave Hyunjin?”

Hyunjin sighed “She told me that she was pregnant and I didn’t handle it like I should’ve, I said some things that in hindsight were fucking awful and shitty, it was not my brightest moment, and I wish I could tell her that I was sorry”

Somi gasped, shocked that her husband would ever do something like that, so she did the only thing she could think to do, smack him. Somi reeled her hand back, connecting it with so much vigor that Hyunjin let out a meek scream, shocked “I can’t believe you’d get a woman pregnant and then treat her like that, you’re an asshole Hwang”

Hyunjin began stuttering, hand cradling his cheek as he reeled in from the searing pain, confused as to how she was informed of the pregnancy and then it sunk it, she was in the house when Y/n told him and she could’ve heard the entire exchange

“She left her pregnancy tests in her bathroom, and I haven’t been the one fucking you Hyunjin, but we’ve been married for awhile, I know what you look like after sex” Hyunjin gulped, not knowing how to handle this situation

“All I want from this divorce is the car you gave me, you can have full custody, the houses, and your money, I don’t want anything else except freedom and I can’t have that being a mom of three and your wife”

Somi spoke with so much eloquence that Hyunjin was feeling bad about doing this to her, he felt bad that he couldn’t love her like she deserved and even though she wasn’t showing her emotions, he felt that it had to hurt

“I’m not hurt Hyunjin, stop looking at me like that, i’m serious, I don’t care, but you need to make it up to that poor girl, she’s pregnant and is the only person who those rascals listen to, if you don’t make it up they will hate you for the rest of your life”

Hyunjin sighed, finally feeling the urge to speak “But I am still confused, what do you get out of this Somi? I know you said you don’t care, but why would you only bring out divorce papers now”

Somi smiled, flipping her hair over her shoulder before shrugging “I was cheating on you first, and the man i’m with doesn’t want kids, so I couldn’t divorce you until I had a good enough reason because the judge would grant me 50/50, and now that you got another woman pregnant, and i’m the spouse who’s kid prefer the damn mistress, the judge is going to give me what I want”

In all the years that Hyunjin known Somi, he had never seen his wife like this, and with the new information that she was cheating first and fell out of love too made him feel less shitty “So you waited until I gotten another woman pregnant so that she could mother the kids?”

“I don’t know wether to be relieved or concerned that you don’t want anything to do with the kids, they’re yours too” Somi scowled, waving her hand dismissively “Would you rather me take full custody, the houses, your money, and post the fact that you got the nanny pregnant?”

Hyunjin winced, if it got out that he cheated on his wife with a younger woman who took care of their kids, the media would have a field day with it and his kids would see the dog that the media paints their father as when they get a social media presence

“Noted” Hyunjin flipped to the pages where he needed to sign, and hastily signed his signature, making a smile form against Somi’s face as she celebrated about the fact she was finally free

“I hope all is well between you and the girl, she loves those kids, so she’ll be back, but don’t do something stupid where you’re going to ruin your life and your kids, that baby needs a father and mother Hyunjin, and i’m sorry that I couldn’t be the mother that our kids needed, but i’m thankful you found- well that I found Y/n, but i’m thankful you found love in her”

Hyunjin stared at Somi, lips parted and gaping as he tried to figure out what to say, it wasn’t every day that your wife was happy that you got another woman pregnant, and it wasn’t everyday that she supported said pregnancy

“I’m going to stay until I get all my stuff out, but i’ll be out of your hair before long, i’m also taking our sheets, I haven’t seen any like that and I love the design, you don’t need them anyways”

Hyunjin’s face contorted into one of amusement, she wasn’t actually upset and wearing a mask, she was just happy that she could finally leave, living her own life and only then did Hyunjin realize how unfair life has been to her

Hyunjin and Somi met while he was 19 and still in his freshman year of college, Somi was 28 and was living the bachelorette life, according to Hyunjin’s parents, she was a wild child all her life and they didn’t want her to waste her child bearing years, so what did they do?

They arranged a relationship between Hyunjin and Somi, being “together” for nine years before her parents were upset at their being no children, so much to her dismay, she was pregnant and married all in the same year, and as if that wasn’t enough, they kept pestering the woman to have more and more

Somi felt trapped, and Hyunjin accidentally played into it, instead of helping her, he made it worse by getting the woman pregnant everytime he felt like it, and while he was mourning the miscarriages that would’ve gave him more children before Hyori was born, Somi on the other hand was chided by her own parents and he had accidentally missed it because of his own feelings, and now that he’s realizing this years later only made him feel more guilty

Somi never wanted to marry and she never wanted kids, but Hyunjin got her pregnant six times and had her give birth to three of their children, and the thought of him ruining her life couldn’t help but bring tears to his eyes

“I’m sorry” While the two worded sentence wouldn’t ever be enough to justify what had happened to her in the two decades years they’ve been together, they had been a start and it brought an elated smile to Somi’s face, a smile that he hadn’t seen in over a decade

“I forgive you, being honest, I could have always left but I didn’t want to leave you with the boys on your own” Hyunjin sniffled, opening his arms to embrace Somi because while he hasn’t felt love for her since the her pregnancy with Hyungmin, and in introspection, he hasn’t ever loved her, leaving the both of them in an uncomfortable loveless decades long relationship

“I’m sorry for everything Somi, take care and whatever you do, know that i’ll be here for you” The grip from their hug only tightened, so many emotions and words that needed to be said, were being said without a word leaving either one of them

“I’m closing the chapter on us, so I don’t think i’ll ever contact you again, but if the boys want to talk when they get older, i’m open to that” Somi pulled away, lacing her fingers with his in a platonic hold, this was the end of their marriage, and the beginning between Y/n and him

Despite having agreed to the mutual settlement of the divorce, the only thing that was left was telling the boys that there would no longer be anymore daddy and mommy together, and mommy wouldn’t be able to care for them anymore

Hyunjin agreed that leaving Hyori with his parents was the smarter option, and they would also not inform her parents of their split, if they ever asked why they didn’t hear from them anymore, Hyunjin would tell them that she was abroad for work

It wasn’t like they called for anything else other than to pester Hyunin about how he should be be raising the kids since he was man, and chiding the man for being in touch with his femininity at his “old age” Hyunjin wasn’t sure why they were concerned with what he wore and how he styled his hair and makeup since none of that had to do with their daughter, but now he realized that in hindsight, they didn’t give a fuck about anything except power

After realizing that, he also added another condition into the divorce papers which was “Myung Somi’s biological parents have no rights to the children, these rights include no claim to file charges against either party under their grandparent rights, babysitting, visitation, and showing up to their place of education, without Mr. Hyunjin Hwang’s explicit permission”

“Me and your mother are divorcing” The two boys were staring at one another, confused about what was just said to them since they’ve never heard anyone around them use that word

“Hyunjin you idiot, they obviously don’t know what that means” Somi rolled her eyes, looking at the two boys who thankfully looked more like their father rather than her “What your daddy means is that I won’t live here anymore and that it’ll only be you guys, him and your llama in the house”

Somi was trying her best to be loving, which clearly shocked the boys “So you’re leaving again?” Hyungmin titled his head when he asked his and Somi nodded, confirming his question “Oh so it’s going back to normal then, okay so when’s llama coming back I have to ask her something”

Hyungjae not understanding the situation but seeing that his brother was happy and talking about llama caused him to smile and celebrate, which shocked the two adults who were staring at one another

“I’m leaving for a long time, you guys won’t see me” The boys ignored her which made her roll her eyes and look at her soon to be ex husband “I told you the boys liked her better, just wait until they learn that they’ll get another sibling from their beloved llama”

Hyunjin shushed the woman, not wanting to get their hopes up about a baby from the woman who wasn’t answering his texts nor calls about the matter, but as he stared at his boys who were enjoying the idea of having their llama back, he knew that his heart would be complete the moment she came home

If she came home

“Okay so when are you leaving and when is llama going to be back” Hyungmin didn’t mean to be rude, but Somi couldn’t help but dramatically roll her eyes at her sons blantant dismissal

“She’ll be home soon, she loves all of you, and she misses you guys even more” Despiye talking to the two boys in front of her, her eyes looked at Hyunjin when she finished, reassuring him that she knew that Y/n still loved him

Hyunjin couldn’t help but laugh at his situation, his ex- wife was reassuring him about the mistress who he knocked up during their marriage, but he wouldn’t ask questions, it could’ve been so much worse but luck was finally in his favor

Felix felt like an idiot

Correction, he was feeling the effects of his idiocy for how he treated Y/n the other night. Even though all he wanted to was apologize for telling her the news so abruptly, he knew that he shouldn’t, the moment that he saw her, he would fold, and he promised his wife to try to work on their relationship for the baby

But he couldn’t help but walk by the bustling cafe, attempting to catch glimpses of the owner, but always falling short because it seemed like Y/n hired someone to work the register, which meant she was spending her time in the kitchen, or in her office, and wether he wanted to admit it or not, it was his fault for the abrupt change

All in all the worst side effect of him breaking up with the woman was how Flora handled the news of never going back to Y/n’s cafe. Felix sat Flora down and told the five year old that they were no longer welcome to visit, and while Felix knew it was far from her fault that she couldn’t visit her favorite cafe, he knew that she was too young to know the truth, so he had to settle on telling the little girl a white lie

That white lie being that Y/n was mad at him and that they had to find a new cafe, and of course, Flora took the news awful, she screamed until her mother told her to shut up which also made Felix feel awful, he couldn’t stand the situation he put himself into

It was fully his fault to do things like this and now that he looked back at what Y/n said, she was right, Bitna was an awful mother to Flora and if the way she yelled at a five year old to shut up or else she would get hit was any indication, then trying to work things out with her would never work

Flora began sobbing, having never heard her mother yell at her in such an aggressive manner which seemed to anger the woman even more, because she grabbed her louis vuitton handbag, and stormed out with Felix’s keys to his benz

His eye twitched, he wasn’t sure if he even wanted to work on the marriage anymore, and it seemed that the relationship was only furthering to deteriorate, he was beginning to feel the brunt of his actions, he was an idiot

“Flora come here baby” The girl screamed, yelling that she hated her father for getting banned from the cafe, running into her room and slamming the door, instead of his wife who would nag about their daughter being disrespectful, he sighed, leaving the girl alone because she had every reason to be upset with him, it was his fault after all

He walked into the living room, thankful it placed right in front of Flora’s door so that he could keep an eye on the girl for when she inevitably stormed out for lunch, but sighed for the umpteenth time, reaching for his phone to call his wife to ask her where she was, being honest he didn’t care about her, but the baby that she was carrying

Only for her to hang up and not answer his phone, it wasn’t uncommon for her to do this, hell she did this everytime she didn’t get her way, but Felix assumed that she would stop since he requested her too when she begged him to work on their relationship

“Fuck me” His fingers lingered over a photo, a selfie from a month back that captured his arm around Y/n as she held up Flora who was smiling with brownie batter caked on her face and teeth, it was taken after one of Flora’s recitals and as a lovely gesture, Y/n had decided to bake her a batch of “princess brownies” but before she could even deposit the batter in the tray Flora stuck her fingers in it

He wanted to cry, the more and more he told himself that he was doing the right thing, the more than he felt that he wasn’t, he missed Y/n and she definitely didn’t want to see him which should’ve made him happy, but it did the opposite

He should’ve listened, instead of trying to be the handy manny guy from Flora’s favorite show, and trying to fix a marriage that couldn’t be fixed, he should’ve been building a new one with Y/n, one that he alongside his daughter would be able to flourish in

A single tear fell past his eye and in mere seconds, it turned into full on crying, his life was ruined and it was his fault, his daughter hated him, his wife didn’t care about him, and the woman he loved probably hated him too, and there was nothing he could do about it

“Daddy i’m sorry, I don’t hate you I promise” The little girl pulled at her fathers hand, reminding him that he wasn’t in this alone and he had to take care of his daughter, the one girl, who still loved him at this point, Felix chuckled, wiping the dampness off his cheeks and embracing the five year old in his arms

“Why does mommy yell a lot, will she yell at the baby too?” Felix gasped, not expecting for his sardonic five year old to do a complete 180° “No Flora no, I promise you she’s just upset” Flora huffed, asking if she was always upset since she was always yelling and for the third time that day, he was having an epiphany, Bitna was an awful woman and the longer he stayed with her, the more his daughter hurt

“I want a divorce” Felix’s already deep voice seemed to be deeper as it was laced with animosity, shocking the woman who was laying on the couch, munching on a bag of corn flavored chips

“But why?” Felix rolled his eyes, mocking what Bitna said in a tone that was definitely not even close to hers, but it made his point clear, so he wouldn’t dwell on it either

“You’re literally so toxic Bitna, Flora doesn’t love you, she fears you and I don’t want her to deal with trauma that you caused, especially since it can be avoided all together”

Bitna stood up, angrily crossing her arms over her chest “I’m literally pregnant you’re divorcing me, how could you be so cruel” Felix sighed, running his hands though his long tresses of blonde locs, trying to calm his nerves

“Besides, if you’re seven months pregnant, why aren’t you showing, you were showing during your third month with Flora” Bitna scoffed, calling Felix an idiot for not considering the fact she was having an ectopic pregnancy and the baby wasn’t showing

“Where’s the ultrasound Bitna, show me proof that you’re pregnant or i’m calling the police to arrest you for trespassing” Felix knew he was bluffing, but Bitna did not and she immediately broke down, exclaiming that she was lying

Bitna immediately dropped her act and accused Felix of stepping out of their marriage, for being the reason it was ruined but Felix clapped back, telling his soon to be ex-wife that the real reason their marriage was over was because of her, and how he and their daughter hated her

“So not only are you dumb enough to lose me, you’re losing her too, because I noticed you haven’t been to that fucking cafe at all recently, so what you gonna do? Stay alone for the rest of your pitiful old life?”

Felix chuckled, telling her to pack her shirt and sign to papers before he got the court involved and sued her for lying about her pregnancy just to trap him

The woman screamed, irate with anger at the idea of losing her golden ticket to never working, but Felix ignored her, thankful that Flora was in the master bedroom that was thankfully sound proofed

“So not only are you threatening me, you cheated on me, and you turned our daughter against me to favor her? Do you not know how fucked up that is?”

Bitna ignored Felix, threatening to make him suffer if he ever left her, but the male couldn’t care less, this woman was actively manipulating his daughter and he wouldn’t stand for it, he refused to be negligent to his daughter

“You have an hour to get out of my house before I kick you out myself Choi Bitna, don’t talk to me any fucking more, we’re done and if you text me i’ll fill a restraining order against you for not only me, but Flora too”

Bitna screamed, throwing the vase that her mother gifted to the two as a wedding gift, scaring Felix as the glass shattered against the floor, Felix’s eyes widened with disbelief and Bitna called her mom, informing her of the situation

But he couldn’t help but feel jealous at the fact that his four year old son had gotten closer to the woman of his affection, and he also couldn’t help but feel guilt, he had disrespected Y/n and she still treated his son with so much warm that it made him feel like Nari wasn’t the rightful mother of his son, despite being the one to give birth to him

Y/n had also still took care of Sunmi whenever he had to work, and when Seungmin texted her to ask why, the only response he received was “It’s not hard for some of us to separate the apple from the tree” and while it was so simple, it was so damning that he could barely think clearly
