You're welcome! The story is small, something like "A Strange Case..." about 100 pages. I recommend reading the translation by Arvil Pyman. (the meaning of jokes and puns is successfully preserved there)

There is also a Soviet film adaptation of the same name in 1988. (The film is available on YouTube with English subtitles) There is a well-chosen cast of actors.

And I'm drawing the image of Sharikov from this movie, hehe.

Maybe it's somewhere in the novel but how old is Dr. Preobrazhensky anyways? He's always struck me as mid 70s, but maybe his hair was just greying early on lol

Some of the characters have ages listed in the book. Preobrazhensky is 60 years old. And yes, as I remember, the story says that he has gray hair, a bushy mustache and beard.

Had this in my work in progress bin for yonks.

We love to see @dross-the-fish's Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. It was for sure his version that made me a fan
