It’s sad how in game you can’t really do anything for Goro’s birthday—tbf you can’t do anything for anyone’s birthday lol—since it happens before you unlock him as a confidant.

The sushi scene is heavily influenced by the scene in Decision to Leave. It’s a little miserable for a birthday comic, but it ends happily okay? Goro gets nice bday dinner and is not lonely anymore.
