I wasn’t going to post anything else today with all that has happened in Israel but evil will not win.
While my heart and prayers are with all the victims and my people, here is a simple lesson on Jewish traditions during Rosh Hashanah.
Traditional Rosh Hashanah foods are symbolic, reflecting hope, renewal, and blessings for the new year. Key examples:
Apples in honey – Wishing for a sweet new year.
Round challah – Symbolizes life’s cycle and continuity, often sweetened with raisins.
Pomegranates – Represent abundance and the 613 commandments
Fish head – Symbolizes the hope to lead and make progress.
These foods are part of the Rosh Hashanah seder, accompanied by prayers and blessings for a fruitful and positive year.
this quote from the mandolorian spoke to me for jumblr-adjacent reasons so i decided to experiment with adobe illustrator lol
probably going to turn it into... something (idk yet maybe a screenprint for my class or a necklace)
Goyim you do realize that going "all zionists ahould be killed" allows people who move the goalpost on what is considered a zionist, kill jews for being jewish, right?
Like Yuval is a perfect example of moving the goalpost. He has described himself as an antizionist, helped raise money for people in Gaza - more than the average person too.
Yet he is being called a zionist online for speaking out about holocaust denial, which is antisemitism, as well as the jews control the world trope, which is also antisemitism.
To a fuck ton of people online, he is considered a zionist, despite literally not being one. Therefore, to a fuck ton of people, he deserve to die.
Whether or not you yourself, want all jews dead, if you think all zionist jews should die, you are at the very least enabling those who move the goalpost to include all jews, in who they want dead, to A) think it's okay to want all jews dead and B) to act on their thoughts.
And like, this is ignoring how zionists should not even be subject to being killed as it is low-key facist to kill someone for their political opinion + 80% - 90% of the Jewish population are self identified zionists so even wanting the majority of jews dead for virtue of political opinion is also fucked.
People need to realize how dangerous this thinking is.
there is SO much misinformation circulating about harris right now. remember that if something will affect your vote or make you feel bad about your vote, you need to fact-check it. for decades, people have intentionally spread misinformation about candidates, and it’s not going to stop now (not to mention the misconceptions or warping of information that can happen even among the supporters of a candidate.) check reliable news sources. don’t just trust social media. if it will change ANYTHING for you, make sure it’s true.
I don't think people on this website understand what "you should love jewish people more than you hate nazis" means
do you hate nazis because they're fun to hate on and easy to ratio? or because of the material harm they have caused, are causing, and will continue to cause? when you see a nazi, do you see an acceptable target? or do you see an active threat? what do you do to help jewish people outside of these situations? anything at all? do you have positive views on judaism? do you try to better yourself by listening to jewish voices on topics of bigotry?
I'm not going to complain about a nazi getting punched for being a nazi, but the issue isn't as simple as just punching nazis. you need to love jewish people more than you hate nazis if you want to address the root causes of antisemitism
Watching the whole Israeli Miku thing go down made me think of this, I cant believe this needs to be said
Jewish culture is gently resting a kippah on your pet's head so they'll feel included
you can’t say that and not show us….
No, today is not a Jewish holiday. Shabbat begins at sundown.
Hi I am not a Jew and was wondering why you censor the word G-d like this? Additionally do you do this when speaking also and how does that work then? And if you do censor when speaking then what do you say instead of 'oh my god' or other such exclamations?
(I swear I read about this on another post but I forgot 😅)
Hope you don't mind such a stupid question lol. Please take care, may the hostages return safely soon 🎗🎗🎗
hi! idk the specifications for it but i know that we’re not supposed to write out the name of gd (any of them, and especially tetragrammaton) and some jews, like myself, take it to the level of omitting the ‘o’ to maintain the respect of not writing gds name. like most things with jews, this isn’t true for everyone and there a great many jews who write gd with the ‘o’
personally i’m too lazy for the dash so i write gd and assume people will get it through context. i only started doing this a few years ago and i found it made me more aware of how i relate to gd in the religious sense despite my not being particularly observant.
if anyones got better explanations or wants to share why they spell gd the way they do please do so! i love opinions! the more the merrier!
