Coruscant | The Jedi Temple, for @rochester-born‘s ask, what I like about the Jedi:
I love the Jedi Aesthetic, the blend of space fantasy modern technology with something ancient and spiritual. I love how beautiful the Jedi Temple is, how grand and sweeping it is, while being warm and filling, that you can very nearly feel the hum of the living Force within it, you can very nearly feel the shimmer of the stars echoing softly when Jedi listen to them. I love that it’s huge, but it’s also full of Yoda playfully teaching the younglings and cutely teasing Obi-Wan about having ~lost a planet. I love the Great Jedi Tree in its place of honor, I love the soaring heights of the Grand Hall with its warm sunlight streaming in, I love the epic hallways that blend something ancient with something immediate, all that light streaming in and looking out over the bustling city. I love the massive Archives that are quiet but still thrum with life and learning. I love the giant doorways that show the Jedi’s heritage and blend it together with advanced tech. I love glowing star maps that spin with beautiful light and stained glass windows that glow in the middle of the day. I love the cool blue light of the holocrons, so much knowledge and history waiting there, so soothing and gentle in their hum and glow. A thousand years and more of learning, ready to teach it to the next generation, for them to learn more and understand another smidgen about the Force to add to their greater understanding. The Jedi and their culture are gorgeous, look at all the beauty that’s there! Look at what a thousand years of their traditions and history have given them.
Robe à la Française
1760-1770
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
"Women with coquettish airs were imposing in robes à la française and robes à l'anglaise throughout the period between 1720 and 1780. The robe à la française was derived from the loose negligee sacque dress of the earlier part of the century, which was pleated from the shoulders at the front at the back. The silhouette, composed of a funnel-shaped bust feeding into wide rectangular skirts, was inspired by Spanish designs of the previous century and allowed for expansive amounts of textiles with delicate Rococo curvilinear decoration. The wide skirts, which were often open at the front to expose a highly decorated underskirt, were supported by panniers created from padding and hoops of different materials such as cane, baleen or metal. The robes à la française are renowned for the beauty of their textiles, the cut of the back employing box pleats and skirt decorations, known as robings, which showed endless imagination and variety."
This is one of the dresses that I was truly surprised to see had never been on display, because to me this dress epitomizes the rococo era with its pastel blue, delicate floral pattern, pretty ruffles and ribbons, and flirtatious bows. Imagine how stunning it must have been with all of its lacy sleeve ruffles and undergarments, carefully rouged cheeks, glittering jewelry, and huge elaborate hair. It is truly one of my favorites.
This weapon is your life!
ANAKIN SKYWALKER and OBI-WAN KENOBI Attack of the Clones deleted scene from a trailer
never gonna shut up about this i'm sorry
a quick art of Padme Amidala (Preview. Full art is available on my Patreon) Sorry to be so inactive this week, but I haven't had much time to bring new content What other characters should I draw? I was thinking about Ellie from TLOU ;)
obsessed with the idea of reality tv in star wars...imagine there being a Real Huttwives of Tatooine show. the jedi order has to fend off constant requests to have a jedi appear on the Bachelor. Fancasts always include Obi-Wan and Kit Fisto. Anakin religiously keeps up with 36 different shows. Ahsoka once signs him up for the bachelorette as a joke, except it works, and then an unsuspecting Anakin has to field a Call from Padme about what her husband is up to. Space twitter has never been so disappointed when casting announcement is hastily retracted. Obi-Wan goes on the Great Coruscanti Baking Show once for charity but the episode never airs for reasons that are never explained. It becomes the holonet's white whale. Love Island except it's all wookies. Naked and Afraid but it's all shaved wookies. the possibilities are endless and i believe with enough effort and funding we as the sw fandom can explore each and every one
it is a shitpost but whatever. im posting it because obikintober
all dads in star wars can be ranked on a scale from mando (best) to brendol hux (worst) and that’s a fact
