"Hey, I heard Wayne Enterprises gives out like, grants and stuff," the teen starts, clearly awkward and blushing green. "I need money to hire lawyers to put away my creepy GodFather for misuse of a mind-controlling Meta Ability and also stalking."
Tim shelves that.
Takes a look at the teen, probably Damian's age or thereabouts, that just floated through his wall of windows at over 30 stories.
White hair, floating, green eyes (lazarus green what the fuck), jumpsuit (he's never seen that logo and is already memorizing it), fidgeting.
Tim takes what the teen just said off the shelf.
"And your godfather is...?"
"Can't say without giving away who I am."
"Okay. How is he 'creepy'?"
"Keeps trying to brainwash me into being his son, or tries to clone me, keeps sending goons after me, keeps trying to win over my mom, won't stop cosplaying as dracula, and I don't really know off the top of my head. I made a list, but it's like...somewhere."
Tim took a deep breath.
Held it.
Let it go.
That reminded him way too much of Ra's.
Held out his black Amex.
"Go crazy."
Be wary. I have strewn various traps around this post
My wife and I have a little game we play called "Speaking From Ignorance."
To play Speaking From Ignorance, all you need is a phone with a voice recorder, and another person who knows considerably more or considerably less about a topic than you do. The topic can be anything: from "how to bake a quiche" to "what happens in the Peter Jackson Hobbit movies" to "who is Florence Pugh" to "how does the traveling salesman problem work." All that matters is that one of you has a firm grasp on the material, and one of you absolutely the fuck does not.
Then the person who knows about the topic turns on the recorder, and says to the person who knows barely anything: "Hey - tell me everything you think you know about [X]."
The speaker is then not allowed to ask any questions. Nor is the expert allowed to volunteer any information. The expert is allowed to pipe up with a faintly incredulous "Oh--really? Do you--do you think so?" from time to time, but for the most part, the expert's job is just to sit there and make encouraging sounds while the speaker digs their own grave.
This is never not funny.
The reason you record it is because, very often, the first thing the speaker wants to do after finishing the recording is find out how you actually make a quiche, or whatever. Then you both get to go back and listen to how wrong they were.
We have a small library now of Speaking From Ignorance recordings, and I'm going to be listening to them until I'm eighty.
You know what I’ve gotten obsessed with and inspired by? Dredge.
You know what is also fun? Merfolk. What’s even better? Lovecraftian corrupted merfolk. Especially if say, one goes with the Lazarus Waters being a form of ectoplasm. So, in this? Lazarus waters are like lakes, while Amity Park, thanks to the Portal, and the barriers? It is an entire sea.
There are islands, small areas that were once the tips of buildings that have gathered more landmass around them. There are mangroves, trees not like anything on earth or anywhere else stretching up in canopies dark enough to block out the sun, yet lit by the green waters.
It goes deep. Mariana Trench deep, despite it being impossible. The GIW have explored for caves or tunnels, they’ve tried to find some sort of explanation, but there isn’t one.
Now all that ecto? That has an effect on people. They mutate, they change, they adapt. Anywhere else would have been a slow death- something the GIW might have even been counting on. But Amity Park? It was founded by witches, it was the hotspot for the supernatural, even before the Fentonwork Portal. They’ve been dealing with this sort of energy in microdoses from the moment they first began to live in the city in any generation.
But they begin to adapt. Shift into something… other. Some stay contaminated, clinging to human forms as they form homes on the tiny islands, fishing and farming what they can. Others become Liminal, almost seeming to meld with fish, some similar to ones of the Living and others something just to the left. Similar yes, but not quite… right. And then there are those that have truly melded with the energy of the dead, forms torn asunder by it, ripped apart and made anew by it.
The first sign back when the barrier was activated, when they could no longer leave and were trapped were the fish in the lake. And now they are the same, with gazes of something Else, with gnashing teeth and a hunger gnawing at where hearts once were.
But they aren’t monsters. They’re still themselves. Just a little… Other now.
Shazam can be terrifying when he wants to right? I mean the guy is the CHAMPION OF MAGIC and has the power of the gods, of certain gods. More importantly, he has zues.
Why hasn't anyone had him make thunderstorms when angry and make thunder so loud you'll go deaf. Why isn't he making storms or playing with the atmospheric pressure when mad.
I am imagining thunder bringer with the cause being a cult messed with danny and hurt him while trying to make him obey them. I want terrifying shazam. I want Shazam and phantom supremacy. I want Shazam being an absolute menace and reminding wveryobe why he's the champion. I want the gods occasionally messing with them. I want aphrodite giving phantom tips on how to woo him. I want her making their love story.
I mostly want a pissed off overprotective Shazam and hurt Danny fic . I want Shazam to unintentionally get on batmans contingency plan list and take the number one spot.
Fukuzawa: And, as always, here's your weekly reminder that therapy and other psychiatric services are covered by the ada healthcare plan.
Dazai:
Dazai, whispering to Kunikida: Why does he always look at me when he says that?

The Green Lantern Corps got their power from a Ghost King before Pariah's reign. For their power, they were told to be the guards to the Ghost King. When Pariah was sealed away by the Ancients, all the Lantern corps had lost some power. But when Pariah was freed, they regained those powers, and before any of the Lantern Corps could reach Pariah to fulfill the pact made long ago, he was sealed again, but the mantle of Ghost King had passed to another.
The many Lanterns of the different Corps were searching the universe to see who had become the new Ghost King. They need to fulfill the pact to keep their powers.
All the Lantern Corps were slowly losing their powers the longer they went without being by the Ghost King's side. And then they felt a pulse of power coming from the Ghost King's core, granting them power, that pulse means the Ghost King is in danger. They all follow the pulses from the Ghost King's Core, which leads them to earth.
They enter a facility that is in the Midwest, from what Hal Jordan had told them about the earth's topography of America. What they find is a horrific sight, the Ghost King, a teenage boy, strapped down to a table and cut open.
Hal Jordan reaches a hand up to his ear and speaks
"Batman, you need to prepare the Batcave for medical. We found who we're supposed to protect"
(Yes, I'm a Batlantern shipper, but I'm not too obsessed with the ship)
I have a hate-love relationship with love squares made of 2 people that just for the life of them can't figure out if the other also loves them
(spoiler alert, they do)
