Clara's great because before her every companion since Rose was like "Being with the Doctor made me a better person", but Clara is like "Nah, it made me so much worse" while the Doctor stares at her affectionately.

Boss is asleep, cannot stop me from frogposting
hey, i just finished the ones we burn the other day and OH MY GOSHHHHH
this book means sosososo much to me thank you for writing it
firstly: the dynamics between ranka and the other 3 leads are FANTASTIC; Galen and Percy having so much in common with her while also being just different enough to make the comparisons interesting (raised and groomed for power vs violently thrust into and overtaken by it, once les astray by a flawed visionary vs. still entrapped within the vision of one), and i don't think i need to touch on how much of a perfect foil aramis is to her
secondly: I LOVE the world you built!!! the way magic works, the amount of questions about the world i have that went unanswered(praise, not criticism), the excerpt about witchery and trans people :) i got hooked instantly by the worldbuilding
finally, and probably more importantly: it is staggering how much of myself i saw in those pages, as a 17 year old trans girl. Ranka's story, the way she's treated and treats others, her magic, the way Aramis treats her and changes her with her blind acceptance and understanding, i could go on for hours about how healing and eye-opening and AJHSHHXJAHZHHAA this book made me feel.
You truly wrote, in my eyes, a BEAUTIFUL piece of literature, that I will probably think about for years or ever.
And- you've made a lifelong fan❤️(I'm getting mossborn soon :3)
Oh man, what a wonderful, wonderful message to wake up to! Thank you so, so much for reading.
I'm so thrilled you enjoyed the story – and thank you, truly, for taking the time to write such a sweet note. So much of writing is creating in isolation, setting your little book out to sea, and praying whatever distant shore it's landed on, it's loved by whoever found it (and that it wasn't like, eaten by a whale on the journey or something.) But it's one thing to hope and one thing to know a book found the right reader. <3 May you find 20 dollars on the ground, may your pillow always be cold, etc, etc.
I'd say Ranka and co appreciate it, but I think they'd mostly be like, "What the hell is tumblr? What is the internet?" and then, very quickly, Percy would figure out how to use the internet and hire someone to assassinate me for all the trouble I put them through.
But I appreciate it! So, thank you again for reading and for the lovely words!
And happy reading with Mossheart! I'm always curious to see what intentional and accidental parallels readers pick up with my work.
Hot take, but cis people have gender identities. They aren't the gender they identify as because of their genitalia or what their birth certificate says. They're only cis because they identify with a gender and it happens to match their government documentation. Cis men aren't men because they're "obviously" men for having a penis. They're men because they identify as men. It's the self-identification that dictates this, not any other factor, even for cis folks. And we should be framing it this way. A cis man identifies as a man and a cis woman identifies as a woman. There is no automatic or inherent gender.
Not sure how active the WoF community is on here, but my friend suggested that I post here more in the wake of deleting Instagram to tank META stock....
Here is a recent design I did for a friend in a trade, fanflight FungalWings. Welcome to my page, I suppose, if anyone sees this?

Cats and small kids are curious about what you're doing in much of the same way. Sometimes when you seem to be up to something, they want to see what it is. If you try to keep a cat from sniffing something to find out what it is, they'll keep insisting, louder and louder, "let me sniff, let me sniff, LET ME SNIFF, LET ME SNIFF!!" until you do.
And then they sniff at it for two seconds and go "oh, oooh. Now I get it. Don't care" and wander off. But the demand to know will remain for as long as the thing is kept from them.
This one time when I was in nursing school, I had a training period in a kindergarten. One day I was chatting with one of the workers, telling her about this one time when I was in Kentucky due to my boyfriend at the time living there, and I saw this huge locally native spider-
And then I got interrupted by this one specific kid - a four-year-old boy who had taken a liking to me, sharp as hell and never missed a single thing. Looking at me with a deeply baffled, wide-eyed frown that kids that age do when Shit Does Not Add Up, he asked me: Boyfriend? If you're a boy, why did you have a boyfriend?
Not sure what else to say, I just shrugged and said that it happens sometimes, sometimes men fall in love with men or women fall in love with women. And I could practically observe in real time as his confusion disappeared in a blink, as this previously completely unfathomable piece of information entered his brain, was swiftly processed, and instantly filed into "boring grownup shit that I don't care about". He only had one follow-up question:
"What happened to the spider?"
