me, being stupid, I clicked on the link and it brought to the Tumblr login page so I logged in.

What happens is that the person who sent you the message, will hack into the account and send the same link to other tumblrs that you don’t even follow in your account. So if you get a random, mysterious link, DON’T CLICK ON IT!!!
